Did you know that National Compliment Day is the same day as National Peanut Butter Day? That must…read moremean Peanut Butter = Compliments! Clearly, math does not work that way, but compliments of Nekter, I got a reward for a $6 Small Peanut Butter Smoothie, valid that day only. I hadn't been to Nekter in so long now that prices have gone up and my very few Nekter points have already expired. However, I was planning a day trip to La Habra, and there just happened to be a Nekter there! This Nekter Juice Bar is located in Westridge Plaza on the southeast corner of Beach and Imperial. It's in a small L-shaped strip mall of eateries adjacent to Beach Blvd and directly across from Walmart. When I came in, I saw a female employee (Ariana?) sweeping the floor right next to a lounge area in the near corner of the shop. Already, I was starting to feel some cozy vibes and could tell it would make for a nice place to kick back and relax after a long day of shopping. Ariana greeted me and asked if I was here to pick up an order; I told her I wanted to redeem that reward on my account, so she went all the way around the pickup counter to take my order. I thought there would have been only one choice for the Peanut Butter Smoothie, but Ariana said there were actually four: Health Nut, PB Mocha, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and PB&J. The menu was posted closer to the front door, which I find odd, especially because a couple of customers had just come in at that point. Not wanting to be that one customer holding up the line, I just went with a childhood favorite: PB&J. Always good in sandwich form, but in a smoothie?! Let's find out! The wait was only three minutes before Ariana was finished with my smoothie, so it was a quick stop. During those three minutes, the two customers in front had gotten their order, which included a takeout bag, and left. I suspect they had an online order, hence why it was an even quicker stop for them. The peanut butter was on top, and the jelly was on the bottom. Since the small 16 oz cup was quite small, it was difficult mixing it together, especially with how thick the smoothie was. Not only that, I didn't taste much of the jelly inside the smoothie, so it was really more like a MPBANJ (Mostly Peanut Butter and Almost No Jelly) smoothie lol. That smoothie is normally $9.39, and I would have been a little unhappy paying $9.39 for a smoothie that didn't exude as much jelly flavor in spite of how much jelly there appeared to be at first. Nevertheless, it was a tasty and refreshing smoothie, but I wish I had gotten a different PB one instead. I certainly would have considered the PB Mocha, which contains coffee, but it was close to 5 PM when I visited, and I think coffee this late in the afternoon would have given me insomnia that night. Service was good from the two female employees inside the shop. They were pretty welcoming to me and the party of two who came in after me. However, Ariana missed an 'e' when entering my name at the register, so my name was Drek lol. That was really the only flaw I saw from her. Overall, not bad! If I were on a Nekter kick and lived in La Habra, I'd certainly make this my go-to location. Since there are a couple of other locations closer to me, I almost certainly won't return to this one, but if this location is closest to you, rest assured that you can get some nice and healthy smoothies here albeit at a rather high cost.

I signed up for rewards and the app gave me $3 off my order. Original total was around $22 for both of these items. Days later I did another trip here and somehow my order was messed up. I didn't know till I looked at my sandwich once I had gotten home which had no bbq sauce on it. I called Robeks and they said they would fix my order. Luckily I'm only 10 min away. They mentioned to me that when they made my order the ticket that pops out of their machine shows no BBQ . I said that's not even an option on the app. The employee that was helping mentioned that she would bring this up to her manager so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. Another thing that popped up was that they have this paper that says how it should be made and I believe she said with sourdough bread. I brought up to them that the picture they have displayed in front of their counter says Rye bread for the Memphis BBQ. Again she said she would bring that up to her manager being that she found that pretty odd. 4 stars only because I wish more BBQ sauce can be added or made an option on the app

Wish we could turn back time To the 90s days…read moreWhen we all could get Large Smoothies for only $6 And that's pretty much the reason why I don't go to Robeks anymore. Of course, I'm not expecting a large smoothie to be $6 today, but when you're paying more for a small smoothie today than for a large smoothie back then, it's hard to find much reason to come back, especially when the closest location to you isn't even that close. I came for National Smoothie Day when Robeks was celebrating by offering 90s prices for their Classic Smoothies: $3.99 for a Small, $4.99 for a Medium, and $5.99 for a Large. This Robeks in Fullerton is located on the southeast corner of Imperial and Harbor. It's in the same plaza as Best Buy and Floor & Decor, but the juice shop is located much closer to the intersection next to the Mobil Gas Station. The first two things I noticed about this Robeks was that they have a drive thru, and their signage said, "Juice & Signature Sandwiches Made to Order" underneath Robeks, but not the word "Smoothies", making me think they didn't offer smoothies here. The drive thru was a rather unique feature that I've never seen at a Robeks before, and I've been to a few other locations. Another unique feature about this Robeks is their front patio, which is encompassed by a white gate. Within this patio, there are a couple of tables with umbrellas, almost making it look like a cozy house with a nice front yard for neighbors to enjoy some tea together. When I arrived, there weren't any customers inside, but there were some customers who went through the drive thru, and a male employee was assisting a customer at the pickup window at the time. I needed plenty of time to decide which of the Classic Smoothies to get, not just because it took a while for that employee to even approach me, but rather, the menu boards were so far behind the front counter that even if you were standing right in front of the register, the menu would still be quite the eye chart. I did take a photo of the menu so I could read it better, but brought up that concern to the employee; he was happy enough to give me a menu, but didn't bother to reply to my question of, "I'm allowed to keep this, right?" as he went to assist another drive-thru customer. I figured if they had a lot of those menus, losing one wouldn't hurt their business. As I was trying to decide which smoothie to get, I was amazed at how long their display case was. They showed photos of all the sandwiches they offer, and there was a multitude of different bread loaves right behind the plexiglass. The left side of the front counter has a rack of Kettle Chips and two sets of straws; there are also shelves of protein cookies on the wall, and above the shelves are empty cups showing the drink sizes. The Large is about twice as large as the Small, so for $2 more, the Large is the better buy, even at the discounted 90s prices. I had such a difficult time deciding what to get, but I went with the Hummingbird, which happens to be their logo. The wait for my Hummingbird smoothie wasn't that long; it was only three minutes before a female employee set my smoothie down on the pickup counter. I was able to grab a straw until I realized there were two sets, and I wasn't sure which straw to get. I asked that female employee what the differences were between the two straws; she replied that the thicker ones, like boba straws, were for the smoothies while the thinner ones were for the juices. Needless to say, I took a boba, no I mean, smoothie straw. I liked how bold the flavor was in the Hummingbird, but unfortunately, the Hummingbird tasted kind of funny as well. Of course, not the haha kind of funny, but rather, the odd kind of funny. It tasted more sour than I expected, like the fruits they used to craft my smoothie were nowhere close to ripe! They use orange sherbet and passionfruit juice in the smoothie; one or both had to have been much more sour than the norm. The mangos are another suspect. Interior is standing room only, though I did see four chairs stacked in the corner. But not even one table? Or even a pickup counter distant from the register? No, they decided to make the left side of the front counter both for ordering and pickup. If there are multiple groups of customers inside the lobby at any given time, I can see some pandemonium happening with customers bumping into each other to try to place their orders or pick up their drinks. I suppose that's why they have a drive thru. Hours are posted at the front door: 7:30 AM to 9 PM daily, but the lobby closes at 8 PM daily. Overall, it's an okay Robeks for smoothies, but I think it's more geared towards sandwiches as it seems much different than the other locations I've been to before. It would have been kind of cool to try the drive thru for once, but unless Robeks has some other promo to celebrate their 30th anniversary, a return visit, even to the Long Beach location, won't happen for a long while.

I love this Nekter location it is clean, calm, and your order is done pretty quickly. The young man working there was super nice + professional. After coming to these spots for years I just found out the waffles are gluten free and can be made dairy free! I appreciate how above and beyond they went explaining it and preparing it. It was truly the best bowl I have had at any Nekter. The consistency was perfect so was the balance of all the ingredients. Looking forward to having another one some day. The only danger is spacing it out, because it is so good! Also the easy parking was a bonus in my book.

You just removed the granola, which is pretty messed up. The acai was for my daughter too. Ask yourself if want to pay full price for a half portion. That wouldn't make sense, right? It's just cruel. My daughter didn't want to ask you to do it for the third time for fear you'll get mad. Customer service is not for everyone. I would give less stars, but they usually do a pretty good job here. We are regulars and never had any issues in the past until now, so 2 stars.

My mom usually made the classic ham and cheese or turkey and cheese, so sandwiches never felt like something I got overly excited about. Then I tried the Turkado, and honestly... I get it now. That sandwich was packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of turkey, lettuce, and that signature sauce. I don't know what exactly is in that sauce, but do they share the recipe? Because there's something about it that makes the sandwich special. It ties everything together perfectly. I also tried the Baja Chicken, and this one honestly proved me wrong. I've never been the biggest fan of chicken sandwiches on that type of bread, but Board & Brew made me question that entire opinion because this sandwich was magnificent. Flavorful, satisfying, and way better than I expected. Now I'm sitting here realizing I probably need to work my way through the rest of the menu because there are still several sandwiches I haven't tried. Board & Brew might have officially turned me into a sandwich guy, and I honestly didn't see that coming.
