    Great latte - and personalized!

Amazing food and nice people! When the old Abita BBQ clased I was so saddened, but now the location has a wonderful Honduran restaurant that is fabulous.

Tiramisu served in the container where they bought it at the store. They should be embarrassed about this, and it actually tasted sour.

I read the other reviews and they talked me into coming to this place for lunch from now on. I won't pay any attention to the other reviews because this place was mediocre at best.

I passed by this place several times and finally decided to stop and check it out. l'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this was a Honduran restaurant. One of the menu options was a Honduran tamale, which I've never had, so naturally I had to order one. It was $4 for one tamale, and two tamales probably would've filled me up. $8 for a satisfying, unusual meal - unusual in the sense that not many places around here offer it - from a local mom & pop restaurant? That's a great deal! I'll definitely be returning.

La comida está riquísima, jamás había escuchado de este lugar. Pero estoy alegre que mi hermana lo encontró. El mejor desayuno que he comido en Mandeville. Me encantó todo.

Stopped here in the way from Alabama to Baton Rouge and it did not disappoint. Absolutely amazing food and even better service!! 10/10 would recommend!!

    Coffee!

Delish Delight! Tamales were so very good. Coffee wonderful. An unplanned quick stop at this cute little family cafe. Prompt, friendly, hospitable service. Honduran specialties. What a discovery! Yes...do go & enjoy. Very best wishes for continuing success.

Honduran tamale, homemade, excellent and cheap. Two tamales for a lunch less than $10

Latin breakfast and brunch as well as a coffee and bakery spot. Home made Honduran tamales so big that 2 make a meal. Very clean and friendly service. It's nice to have a new business in this location.

    Fried chicken and plantains.

So good! Heard about Acao cafe from a friend and I'm so glad my daughter and I tried it today. Everything was delicious and fresh! We'll be back soon!

    Huge Pork tamale

Everything was very flavorful, fresh and delicious. Honduran tamales, tacos and fajitas. Service was great. Will definitely be back to try more!

Baleada Supreme - Flour tortilla, with beans, eggs, cheese, cream, ground pork, and you can add jalapenos and pickled onions.

My sister moved to Louisiana two years ago and has always said it's been hard to find truly great food, so we were excited to give this place a try--and it exceeded every expectation. The woman who took our order was one of the sweetest people we've met. She was so welcoming, patient, and made us feel right at home, which made the whole experience even better. The tostones were perfection--served hot and crispy on the outside while staying soft and fluffy on the inside. The breakfast arepa was outstanding and paired perfectly with the fresh cilantro dipping sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could tell everything was made with care. The restaurant itself was spotless, bright, and inviting, creating such a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy a meal. Great food, amazing service, and a clean environment are the perfect combination. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable breakfast. It was hands down one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

It also serves tamales--something New Orleanians know is just a quirky part of the city and was made famous by Manuel's Hot Tamales, founded in 1932. But this isn't about that. This is about an endearing shop that gets it right. And they start with the ONLY po boy bread worthy of greatness. Let's face it, if you put it on Leidenheimer's French bread that's half the original ticket. And believe me they get it right the rest of the way too. The fried shrimp and catfish 1/2 and 1/2 was perfectly seasoned with just the right cream meal to allow the flavor of the sweet fresh shrimp and the Mississippi catfish to stand out as the star of the show. I had it dressed and it done just right. Since it was Monday, the special was Red Beans with an old school favorite of pork chop--something real Coonie's know about and not so often seen anymore. Community Iced tea with fresh lemon slices cooled me down with self service and friendly table service refills. Order at the counter and they bring it to ya if you eat inside. The menu is extensive and the portions generous. I saw the biggest piece of mac and cheese I have ever seen--it took up the whole plate. So did the gravy fries which were an enormous mound of serious chow down. The prices are on the chalk board so I'm sure for seasonal items the prices or availability may change. The cost was well worth it and was within the norm for the menu (even on the cheaper side), however the amount of groceries given pushed the value way up. Same for the service; everyone was very friendly and accommodating and eager to make sure you had what you needed without hovering over you. They were genuinely thoughtful and proud of their place. I met Chef Val the owner and I gotta tell ya he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met--very humble, hard working and friendly; also a Veteran like myself so happy to support a Veteran owned business. He showed me around a bit and we two seasoned chefs exchanged kitchen stories. This guy is the real deal. You're gonna get fed and be taken care of when you come--it's the type of personal character that sticks with his people even when he's not there. I was really impressed with the place and I plan to return again and again. I gotta get into those tamales!

It was our first time eating there and they gave us a little sample of the tamales. Excellent! We ordered two roast beef po-boys, a small muffuletta and the crawfish egg rolls. The ceviches were delicious, but the standout was the Lomo Saltado. The steak so juicy, the sauce bursting with flavor, the kind you end up mopping off the plate. Not everything hit though. The anticuchos in the steak version came out dried out and bland, just okay. Should've gone with the traditional one. And a heads up if you've got kids, there isn't much for them on the menu, so ours ended up picking off our plates. Random bonus, halfway through dinner we spotted an actress from the latest season of The White Lotus a few tables over, the one shot in Thailand. Fun little surprise. Most of it was great, the drinks especially, and we had a genuinely good time. Recommend it, just skip the steak anticuchos.
