A really fun night, and a great reminder of how much I'd missed Peruvian food. The Pisco Sours set the tone, excellent cocktails. The ceviches were delicious, but the standout was the Lomo Saltado. The steak so juicy, the sauce bursting with flavor, the kind you end up mopping off the plate. Not everything hit though. The anticuchos in the steak version came out dried out and bland, just okay. Should've gone with the traditional one. And a heads up if you've got kids, there isn't much for them on the menu, so ours ended up picking off our plates. Random bonus, halfway through dinner we spotted an actress from the latest season of The White Lotus a few tables over, the one shot in Thailand. Fun little surprise. Most of it was great, the drinks especially, and we had a genuinely good time. Recommend it, just skip the steak anticuchos. read more

Everything was fantastic. Was always weary about this place because of the parking situation, but there's a parking lot! Been trying to come here for years and we finally made it on Mother's Day. The service and ambience was nice. I am obsessed with their llama theme. Chill place, not too upscale. We got everything seafood and one steak pasta dish. Ceviche was soo fresh, tuna tostones YUM, steak "pesto" pasta cooked perfectly. Paella so YUM. Their scallops and shrimps are massive here. Bill adds up but definitely worth the splurge if you're in the area looking for something light and refreshing. Suspiro Limeño dessert was pretty simple, but lightweight after a meal like that. Picarones made from sweet potato, like a donut. When they say they drenched it in syrup, they mean drenched! Didn't taste too sweet though. Finally found a good Peruvian restaurant in the city, the best if you will. The tuna tartar was delicious, I'm sorry but we ate it too fast to even take a picture of it. The octopus was grilled pretty well but needed a tad bit of salt but the flavors were there. The pescado was cooked perfectly and the seasonings complimented each other very well. How can you not love Tito's? Fabulous food. Pisco drinks. Best dessert ever. And open on Christmas night when everyone else was closed. Our waitress who swore her name is 'Amazing,' explained why they were open. "We celebrate Christmas on Noche Buena, December 24. So there's no reason to stay home on December 25. So Tito's was open and welcoming. What a great ambience. She started with infused pisco. I went with a Pisco Sour a lo macho. We each had ceviche the Peruvian way, with fish, onions, sweet potato and huge kernels of corn, ceviche was invented in Peru and it is the best in the world. We split a huge plate of arroz con pato. The rice was bright green from macerated cilantro. The duck was juicy and falling off the bone. It could have been a bit spicier. Dessert was amazing. Suspiro limeño, made in house. Suspiro limeño literally translates as "the sigh of a woman from Lima." It is supposed to as delicate as a sigh. It's made from a custard called manjar blanco (milk, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla) topped with a meringue made of egg whites, port wine and cinnamon. Wow! If you go to Tito's don't miss the suspiro. Came here for a yelp elite event and ordered some extra dishes. Firstly, this place was nicer than I expected! But no specific attire necessary to dine in. Lomo Saltado was flavorful and yum! For $36, it was pretty steep. Next time I'd try the green basil pasta dish that lots of people ordered. The "jumbo" Peruvian wings were delicious but nowhere near "jumbo." Great flavors and would definitely try more of their drink menu! For food, we ordered the chicken skewers, salmon crudo, and their seafood fried rice. Overall flavors were not bad, but I am pretty disappointed in the seafood quality. As a seafood lover, I love the fresh quality that living in Gulf can offer me. However, the seafood in the rice was rubbery and clearly pre-frozen. Charging $38 for it felt criminal. The salmon was good, but the passion fruit was a bit overpowering. The chicken was delicious and grilled to perfection, and paired perfectly with their green sauce. I'd come again to try more of their items, but I will avoid their seafood dishes in the future. As for service, our waitress was very kind, but there were long wait times between getting our water refilled, table cleared for other dishes, and sending the bill. It was pretty empty for a weekday, but I can understand that the staff may had other tasks. I visited Tito's at their new location on Saint Charles. I hadn't been to their old location, but this new location is definitely lovely! I would say it's a casual dining spot, but with slightly upscale vibes. Shorts and a t-shirt would be fine, but I could see people dressed up too. It's perfect for a regular night of dinner with friends or for a more romantic date night. Their menu items are full of fresh ingredients and exciting combinations of flavors. I had no idea that Peruvian dishes incorporated so much raw seafood aside from ceviche! I wish I could sample everything! When I visited, I tried both their fish ceviche and their shrimp ceviche. They were SO different from the ceviche that I've tried at other restaurants! It wasn't just "pickled" fish/shrimp like a lot of other places. It felt more like a complete dish on it's own. I loved both, they were fantastic! They both contain "leche de tigre", which translates to "tiger's milk". It's basically a zesty citrus marinade to cure the raw proteins. So flavorful. So yummy. Highly recommend! Each dish of ceviche I tried were $20-ish (maybe $21 or $22?). They have a whole ceviche menu incorporating different proteins and flavors, but I only tried the two. I would rate this place 5-stars for the items I tried, but I took one star away because I think it's a bit overpriced. Most of their entrees start around $30, and some of the ceviche is close to that price as well. Their portions are a bit small for my tastes, especially for the price. That being said, Covid/tariffs/location on St. Charles are all factors to consider, and their dishes are truly delish! read more

For my last night in Nee Orleans last week, I had dinner at Tito's Ceviche y Pisco, which was a lovely experience. I sat at the bar by myself and was immediately welcomed with a small plate of canchita, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the night. I started with a pisco sour, which struck the perfect balance between tart and sweet. It was bright, refreshing, and a great start to the meal. For dinner, I ordered the tofu saltado, the vegetarian version of lomo saltado. It was incredible--super flavorful, packed with veggies, and just the right portion size. For dessert, I tried the suspiro de limeña, a dulce de leche-style custard topped with meringue. The meringue kept it from being overly sweet, and it paired beautifully with a carajillo. We visited Tito's Ceviche today during happy hour while we were in-between appointments in New Orleans. I was invited as a Yelp Elite and excited that an event was at this location. I've been planning to come to the newer location after loving the old Magazine Street location which is now closed. The bartender was very gracious and glad to see us. We ordered from the Elite menu but also added another Pisco Sour-their limey signature drink-a Peruvian take on a whisky sour. They brought out the complimentary fried corn with cilantro sauce. This sauce is so amazing-I could drink it. We had already had lunch so we just ordered the happy hour bite, Shrimp Ceviche Crunch Bite. This was a tostada topped with mashed avocado, ceviche marinated shrimp, tomatoes and vegetables. It was very good and if I was hungrier, I would have wanted a whole dish of it. The sun-drenched atmosphere is welcoming enough, but the aesthetically designed bar, artful mural, and thoughtfully placed greenery sealed the deal for me. My mom and I started with the complimentary roasted Peruvian corn served with puréed chimichurri, then ordered the shrimp ceviche. I also treated myself to a celebratory birthday cocktail--a classic pisco sour. Very cool spot with great Peruvian food. Nice and friendly servers eager to help with menu and drink options. Place is decorated in bright colors and South American motifs. Ceviche is very fresh and has a little kick but not overpowered with onions which I greatly appreciate. My favorite thing to eat here is definitely Steak Anticuchos - 3 marinated steak skewers with potatoes. Meat is delicious, perfectly cooked but those potatoes are amazing - crisp outside soft and creamy inside and covered in tasty aioli. Yum. Drink are very good, we tried Maracay's martini made with pisco, egg white and passion fruit - overall it was nice but didn't really taste passion fruit. Classic pisco punch made with pineapple and pisco was very refreshing! Only thing that is kinda disappointing are desserts - at least ones we tried. Suspiro Limeno - sweet and light like a woman's sigh per their menu description and advertised as dulce de leche custard topped with meringue but in truth is not a custard at all but dulce de leche condensed milk topped with reddi- whip sweet foam. I questioned the server and after checking with the kitchen apparently they ran out of meringue - it was 2pm on Saturday, no word what happened to custard. I returned it. Other one we had was Maracuya flan wasn't really impressed with it - it was small and grainy. So skip dessert! read more

Our waitress brought out what I'm assuming are nuts with some sauce? She didn't say what it was but I enjoyed the sauce. I ordered the coco chica for my drink which was pretty good and thick, and my cousin ordered the lychee cocktail (she said it was kind of strong for her). My aunt told me she went there before and got the steak skewers, so I decided to get that and it was good. I really like the sauce on the potatoes. First of all, I've spent a lot of time in Peru. My daughter's mother was born there so I've eaten a lot of Peruvian food. I started out with a pisco sour. It was delicious, but at $14 I felt it was a bit overpriced. Pisco is easily purchased here in the states. My wife had a glass of red wine, also $14 a glass. Again a bit overpriced. We started out with hamachi Classico. It was $18 which again $15 might have seemed more reasonable, but it was tasty. We also had papas à la huancaina as a starter. It was priced at a whopping $15 which was way over priced. This dish is typically served as a pre curser to the mean in Peru and is generally included like a salad. In Peru you receive a baked potato 1/2 usually on a bed of lettuce with a hard boiled egg, garnished with Kalamata olives and a healthy portion of huancaina sauce which is super flavorful. However, I'm not sure why but flavor was lacking on our order almost as though they used 1 packet of spice for double the other ingredients. Too thin! Also they sprinkled minimal hard boiled egg on top which in my opinion failed the dish. You're supposed to take a bit of egg, lettuce, potato with the sauce and an occasional olive. Our main we split, lomo saltado. They charge $36 which is insane. Albeit tasty, they skimped on the meat which is generally sirloin and they missed the mark on the potato's. Peru is known for potato's why they serve the small baby yellow potato's is wierd. In Peru this dish typically includes hand cut fries cooked in oil. Again tasty but portion wasn't $36 worth. Overall service was very good, but way overpriced. Our meal 2 drinks 2 apps 1 main split and a piece of cake split with tip was $184. For this amount, we'll do a steak dinner somewhere. read more
