The process from check in, to parking on the ferry was simple. The ferry had ample seating inside . Note, if you want booth seats, you have to try to be the first ones in. Rating: Incomplete…read more As the Lewes-Rehoboth Beach area becomes an off season short vacation spot for us, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry becomes a very interesting alternative route there from Bucks County, PA. The drive to Cape May takes about two hours, and the ferry with wait time embarking, disembarking and traversing Delaware Bay, another three; the time comparison is not favorable to just driving there directly. However, there is something to be said for taking a short cruise for its potential for relaxation and obvious uniqueness, and the option of spending time in Cape May, which remains more charming than the southern terminus and certainly worth your attention. Too, off-season pricing is very reasonable at $22 per car and $6 per person; making the value proposition outstanding. So, our solution for next year is to make the run by going to beautiful Victorian Cape May for a few days before catching the CMLF across to Lewes, and spending a few more days down there for crabs, fish and more exploration down the Delaware coast. We will decide then whether to drive or ferry home. The Lewes terminal is a comfortable place to hang out for a while, answer questions about the ferry and grab a drink/lunch at Grains, the in house restaurant overlooking the bay and ferry operations. We found our hour there worthwhile and fun. More to come as we fulfill our plan. 5 Star potential!

The lobby is elegant and attractive without feeling stuffy or uptight. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. Your stay includes an amazing breakfast - with an omelette station and plenty of protein options (not just muffins and fruit). The shuttle to and from the beach, along with complimentary beach chairs and towels, is so convenient! Hotel Rehoboth also offers some other delights like turndown service that includes a chocolate truffle. Complementary cocktail hour with white wine, cheese, and crackers (from 5-6:30pm) and cookies (at 8pm). One of my favorite things is that they offer a lending library that includes a variety of books and some games for you to enjoy during your stay. Bonus points for whoever organized this library of books by color!! 5 stars for that alone!

This faded quickly at the entry level with a strong smell of wet dog, followed by no cooling on the interior. The pictures on the internet are dated and things are cluttered now. The room I booked was not the room held, but since it was a weekday I could have my pick of the 3 front rooms, none of them the one I booked (?). The room was clean and there was AC that, when turned On, over time cooled the room down. During the night I was awakened by the heat and found the AC was not cycling On unless the ceiling fan was On (?). There are plentiful sugary and baked goods snacks and soda in the breakfast room for anytime. The fresh fruit though was over or under ripe. The morning coffee was not hot. Breakfast did happen and I was able to enjoy a wide selection of melon and berries with yogurt that was put out buffet style. The eggs requested, came pretty much as desired. The first morning I found out the free bike option was no longer available. I must have read about bikes in the reviews but now find they are no longer available in the fine print of the booking. My pleasure in staying here always fell short. I would have enjoyed a cookie cutter motel as much. I suppose I wanted the accommodation to be as attentive as the decor pictured. Then, as mentioned, the pictures are from some time in the past.

When we checked in, they gave you a little packet that included dog poop bags, and a dog treat. They also had you select a dog toy for your dog. Very nice touch!
