The people on the dock gave us a very brief overview of the boat and gave us a map to use on the bay. We headed out and within a few minutes of leaving the marina, we noticed something wasn't quite right with the engine. It was making a sound that reminded us of metal clinking together. As we continued on, the motor stalled out and would not start again which brought on some serious panic. We called the number that we used to book the reservation and the woman on the line stated that she didn't handle this sort of thing, which was not helpful in our current situation. We finally realized that the person on the dock wrote his phone number on the back of our map. We called it several times with no answer. This brought on more concern as we were stuck in the channel and had no way to get back to the dock. We finally received a call back 30 minutes later after waving other boats down for assistance. All in all we got back to the dock to switch out boats but the scary part of all of this is the fact that in a true emergency, no one is available and things could have been much worse. This company needs another hotline besides scheduling if any renters need support or assistance.

They communicated how the waters were, asked which route we wanted to take and took photos along the way. There were life jackets for our 1.5 and 3.5yo and plenty of seating. We did BYOB and enjoyed the commentary on the houses we were passing. There also is a clean porta-potty on the boat which was a great addition.

My wife and young daughter went on the banana boat experience since my daughter isn't old enough for jet skiing. They had a blast getting a ton of ocean spray in their face while being towed behind a motor boat (make sure to wear goggles). My son and I shared a jet ski and I was really impressed. They are certainly powerful (we got up to 60 km/hour), but have some impressive built-in safety features. There is an auto-break that applies whenever you approach the jet skiing boundaries or get too close to another jet ski or other boat. As a novice, I really appreciated that feature. The staff was uniformly friendly. The location is nice, located next to a public beach that we relaxed in afterwards, as well as a couple of bars (note you can't drink before jet skiing). There isn't a ton of parking, so factor that in as needed.

In fact, when I pulled into the parking area I wasn't sure where to park as there are signs stating something about permits. I will say, and this is my only gripe about this place, is the price of admission. I think it's a bit high for what you are getting. But I guess you need to pay the bills for this. This place kind of takes you back in time. See, back before this area had roads connecting to each other and when shipping was a huge thing, they had to have patrols that would make sure everything was ok. These patrols would head out to save people on the high seas when the high seas were less than cooperative. Kind of a precursor of the Coast Guard. This location is on the National Registry of Historic Places. This was a quick museum visit, but that is partly because I was impatient and didn't want to use the video tour. They do have a tour where you call in and type in a code for an exhibit and it would give you the information, but you can also read a lot of it within on the information placards next to the items. Points of interest is the house itself, living quarters, equipment used and the highlight is the access to the beach. It's amazing to think that men, year after year, would come here and serve time protecting people. It was some really tight quarters and they never knew what the seas might hold for them. Tip, be careful if you head out to the beach. I had taken my sandals off to walk into the sand and something jabbed my toe. That made for a quick return for me. Before you do head back get a look at the view. It is beautiful.

Great for everyone but small kids will need to be watched to ensure they don't grab and break anything, and that they don't fall down the narrow staircase.
