Both workers can use improvement in their communication skills. This is a business not the streets. Also, my bf drives a Diesel vehicle and I overheard the tester say he's not allowed to do Diesel smog to the receptionist (or he'll risk his license being revoked) yet he still did it. Thanks? Pulled in, and they were just finishing up with the last customer. Instead of leaving after her service, the woman decided she wanted resolution for being "screamed and yelled" at on the phone. She was super upset, because she's only lived here for a few years, blah blah blah, and didn't know about the smog process, blah blah blah. She literally repeated the words "screamed and yelled" like fifty times. If she was so upset 1) I don't know why she then came in for a service and 2) she should have discussed this whole thing while waiting for her car. Instead, she decided to ramble on incessantly for what seemed like an eternity. As a consequence, she helped make my visit highly unsatisfactory. Thanks, lady. Nice way to pay it forward. My main issue is that during this entire process, I was left ignored. I understand the tech was trying to appease this inconsiderate woman, but the conversation was repeating itself ad nauseam and going nowhere. I was at the point of screaming and yelling at someone. No one attended to me, apologized to me, said anything to me at all, and I was left waiting to listen to this drama unfold for an undetermined and potentially ridiculous amount of time. After waiting through over fifteen minutes of this crap, we asked for our paperwork back. Again, no apology, no appeasement for me, nothing. After searching for STAR stations on Yelp, this place turned out to be a great choice to certify my 1999 vehicle. Easy to find in back of Jiffy Lube, this place specializes in smog checks only. With nobody in line, I parked in the left of two stalls to get my test up and running. Lobby area was bright and airy. Since Sasan was fast, I paid $50 and got out in 15 minutes. My husband called to make an appointment & they just told him to bring the cars in. No appointment? Hmmm... I guess they're not as busy on the weekdays. My husband made 2 trips; he was in & out within 15-minutes each time -- fast, friendly, no nonsense service. Some of the local smog check stations charge $45 with a free re-test if you fail your initial smog check. I'm going to assume AS charges a competitive rate because I forgot to ask my husband about Accurate Smog's fee.
