Two years later we're still very happy with the shower tiling done by James. (Meant to get to this back in 2022, was just reminded when a neighbor asked for a referral.) The previous shower wall had deteriorated beyond repair as I had discovered when I tried to repair it, so James wound up being our pick to strip the old subway tile shower down to the studs and replace it with materials that were up to code. We chose the design and selected and bought the tile, but James installed it and handled all the trim, everything but the glass shower door that was installed after we took these photos. He even came back and took care of a couple of minor touch-ups without complaint. The whole project turned out to be a lot more expensive than we anticipated, as these things do, but James' quote was in the ballpark. read more

He finished on-time even with losing a half day due to another contractor delaying his start. James left the work-site clean each day and much to my surprise, he even took all the floor protecting paper and other items on the last day (other contractors have filled up my trashcans with their discarded materials). James just got done installing the flooring and the tile in our shower/bath for our guest bathroom. It came out AMAZING!!! He did such a good job and let me tell you, our job was a little challenging as everything was pretty much original from 1977 so things were crooked, uneven, etc. It looks great. Not only did he do a great job installing and answering all of our questions, but his clean up is impeccable. I'm pretty sure everything was cleaner AFTER he left than when he first got there. Haha. He had his saw, buckets, tools, etc on our front porch so he could cut the tile and put the cement and grout on and you can't even tell he was there at all when he cleaned up. I'm glad we found him. James did a small tile repair job for me to replace a broken tile in the kitchen. He spotted a second broken tile that I hadn't even noticed, so he replaced that one too. He was able to fit my small job in within the next couple of days and his fee was very reasonable. The work was excellent and the grout matches really well. He even had to make a strange corner cut in one of the tiles and it fits perfectly. His specialty is tile, but he also lined up someone he works with to replace the carpet in our bedrooms. He told me where to go to pick out and purchase the carpet to save money and then came back with his carpet guy a few weeks later and installed the carpet, again at a really reasonable price.
