Today we had a water pipe break outside. We had to turn off our main water, to keep the leak from…read moreflooding us. We have American Home Shield Warranty and they assigned 1st Response to assist us. I called them around 10 am today. They wanted to come out on Thursday, 4 days later. I explained our situation and that going without water for 4 days would be impossible. Her solution, just keep turning the main on/off as needed. I said that is not possible. She said she would try and get someone out there today. Around noon, we got a call that someone would come by between 2-5. Fantastic!!! I had explained to them that I have a block on my phone and to please have their guys text me, because the call won't come through. Around 3:15, I see I have a voicemail, it's the plumber saying. Hey, Im here in front and can't get a hold of you. As I'm reading this, the doorbell rings. (new concept, I know) My husband answered the door immediately and out they went. This guy Charles ,was rude, very unprofessional and had the empathy of a rock. He couldn't care less that we didn't have water all day, or anything. He did find a way to isolate that pipe, so that we could turn on the main again. He looked at and told us what he would do, then left. Yup, no fixing it today, he just wanted to take a sneak peak and see what it was and off he went. An hour later we received an estimate, $500 to repair and wait for it, $300 extra if we wanted him to backfill the hole. The hole that was in soft dirt in our garden that was at the most 10" deep. WTAF!!! I was on the phone with AHS, immediately. Turns out they denied our claim (that's another horror story). We rejected the estimate and told them, not to worry, we would have our own plumber come fix the "$500 + $300" pipe issue. Our plumber came and fixed (we didn't do this earlier because it voids our warranty), and the parts cost us $10. Being that he is a friend, he didn't charge us. A $10 fix, unbelievable. Guess which company we won't ever be using in the future. What a way to make sure you never have a loyal customer.

Art & Ace came out and installed a tankless water heater to replace my leaking tank water heater…read more It was on year 9 of a 10 yr warranty. I appreciated that Art came out to check what was happening and discussed options. I asked for an Energy Star certified tankless water heater for taxes. Art checked their supplier for the specs and found one that I then approved as it's on the Energy Star list. I also add I asked them to add a utility sink as I didn't have one before. Art shopped for one for me and installed it, too. Happy to have one now and it's convenient for the flushing of the tankless water heater. As my home is older, my regulator needed to be replaced, too. They replaced it and put in an easy water turn off handle! They measured before and after to ensure it was doing its job and showed me. I liked and appreciated how I was informed and then shown the repairs. Both Art and Ace were very friendly, knowledgeable, and hard workers! They cleaned up after themselves by sweeping and removing old parts - love it! I chose Castillo Plumbing after looking around and read the reviews here. I found my go to plumbers!!! These guys are honest, friendly, and straightforward. I priced what my repair replacement cost might be and my repair was in the range. Mike brought out heavy duty 50 gallon heater; replaced in just a few hours! He added an expansion tank at the top to protect the heater from main line water pressure surges. Also installed a catch pan and drain pipe under the heater just in case for when a water heater might leak decades later. All water heaters eventually corrode out and leak, great job with the additional precaution installs. PRIMO PLUMBING THE BEST!
