Upon arrival he investigated the source of the leak and determined it was the main line coming int the house. He quickly developed a plan started the quote and communicated all the details to me. I agreed and work got started the same day and water was back on for my tenant the SAME DAY!! Clearly this team doesn't make excuses, they just get the job done!! We have used California Plumbing three times now. The first time Ruben came and replaced a bathroom faucet. He did a great job installing it and rerouting the pipes under the sink so they are more out of the way. The second time we had Chico come and replace a water heater in an outside enclosure. It's about time that I write a review for California Plumbing. Background: I had purchased a condo in December 2022. There were lots of "old" things in the condo that needed fixing. At the time, I had homeowners warranty, so I had used that to replace the parts within the toilet. The home inspector had already mentioned at the time that toilets needed replacing at some point. I only knew that the condos were built in the 1980s. I just didn't want to spend the money if I didn't need to yet! The Call & Quote: Fast forward to May 2024 (about 1.5 years later), one of my toilets finally started leaking again. I had already decided to just get both toilets replaced. A quick Yelp search, and I found California Plumbing with 5 stars and over 400+ reviews. A quick call - and they sent someone out fairly quickly to do a quote. *Note - as a female, I totally appreciated that they send a picture of the technician that they are sending to my house*. I also appreciated that the technician gave me 2 quotes (one for fixing the broken parts and one for replacing toilets all together). The broken parts were antiquated, so it would have taken a while to find without guarantee that it may break again in another 1.5 years or so. Service: Since I had 2 toilets, I wasn't in a rush to get it replaced that same day or next day (even though California Plumbing offers that service). I just called and made appointment for that following week. The day of, 2 technicians show up. Toilets were replaced one by one. They cleaned up everything (threw out the old toilets, swept the floors, etc). No mess was left behind! My mom and I had a leak in the bathroom pipe that affected adjacent walls and floor. I reached out to a few different plumbers to get their opinions. California Plumbing sent out Hilario for an inspection. I was really pleased with his knowledge when he took a look at the house. Some other plumbers automatically assumed it was a roof leak because it had rained a couple days but Hilario actually took the time to check out other possible options regarding the leak. He noticed our house did not have a water pressure regulator which is important especially in older houses. Other plumbing companies were charging $1500 for a water pressure regulator installment where as with California Plumbing it only cost under $1000. I was really pleased with his inspection so I decided to go ahead and schedule a leak repair with him. Hilario was able to find the leak pretty quickly. He got the leak repaired and installed a new water pressure regulator to the house. California Plumbing also said the repair is under a year warranty which is a major relief. I got a few quotes to get a Moen Flo installed at my place. It was older house with a tight area to work with. Luca is the technician that came out and gave me the details about the scope of work. I really appreciated the detail estimates he provided. When he was wrapping up the quote, he also did a free water test. Luca came back to do the work and gave me an estimate of how long it would take to get everything done. He did a great job and the finished plumbing stack looks good. My wife found this company based on their stellar reviews as our company had been slipping over the last three years. These guys are very professional, fair and honest. We called Rueben out to look at a clogged pipe and found that our entire sewer system was in bad shape (cast iron, great!). The farther they chased the pipe back the worse it got. Morgan came out and ran a camera and showed me all the issues, unlike the inspection we had before purchasing the property a few years earlier (the sewer was in great shape they said!). Reached out to my realtor and the price difference between California Plumbing and the company that did the initial inspection was less than $1000. Really wished I had run with California Plumbing for the prepurchase inspection. Morgan, Rueben and team tried many solutions that just didn't work before replacing the entire system, really trying to save us money and not pushing us like salesman. To my surprise, the owner showed up onsite himself the day they split the pipes to ensure everything was done right. They found a few unrelated issues to the sewer while working which they repaired for free while they were in that area. My brother is a union plumber back east and I showed him all photos and invoices and he agreed they were fair and honest. I am really happy with their services and overall professionalism. A few of the reviews I read complained about the $35 dispatch fee. My old company was a $90 dispatch fee and they don't remove it if they do work. They offer no guarantee on their work and my drains are exactly the same as before they came only 1 day later. Got a few quotes to replace supply lines to a sink since the valve was leaking and also wanted to fix the faucet that had a slow leak. Two guys showed up one a salesman with an iPad and another the plumber. They said I should replace the whole faucet and charged me hundreds more than another company to replace the lines. Another company told me to just replace the cartridges which I did myself and problem solved. The salesman tried to get me to buy a whole water system filtration which I'm thinking of doing but not with California Plumbing, maybe next time be more honest with your customer instead of overcharging and selling services they don't need read more

The response is super fast and the nicest people to work with. So far my problems seem to be solved. The reason I could not give 5 stars is because I think they are taking advantage of me. I am a single woman in a high end home so.... The first time I called them they replaced my pressure regulator. Great and seemed to fix the problem but they also recommended I replace my whole house water softener that was 10 years old. I believed them and did, but not sure it was necessary. I wasn't going to call them again with a clogged toilet in guest room but got confused with my phone numbers and did. Hilario came right out which I was happy about. At first it was around 400 dollars to remove clog but turned out he had to remove toilet and run snake and camera so it went up to nearly 1,000 dollars. He said great news is line seems clear now. But could not guarantee anything because there is still poop and paper inside the toilet that is not reachable and might cause a future clog. The only way he could guarantee the work is to replace the toilet too. WHAT? Come on!!!! Couldn't come up with anything better than a brand new toilet to steal my money? I had a house guest for two months so toilet is not that old since replaced in a remodel. Like I said, they are quick, friendly and efficient. I really believe they do top rate work. But just know that you are going to be conned into work and equipment that is totally unnecessary and your pocketbook emptied, at least if you are a vulnerable woman.
