Responses from management were wrong, as later verified by further analysis. They kept quoting for further work for problems that didn't exist. One of the codes they wanted $600+ more dollars to "fix" was turned out with second opinion elsewhere to be a cheap camshaft position sensor (under $30) on the exterior of the engine, a five minute fix, one bolt one wire clip. Unfortunately I can't recommend this shop. Still dealing with further damage caused by this shop.

The weeks George had me wait for him to "get it ready" was actually him just taking out the good motor and slapping in a used bad motor in that he claimed was rebuilt. I have heard from several people that he tells them their engine is bad when they aren't, and that engines are rebuilt when they aren't. I believe the stories because that was my experience as well. I've also met people who were quoted repairs that cost more than the car was worth. George would supposedly acquire them and they would be magically fixed the next day and flipped, despite them supposedly needing all kinds of work. They have plenty of good reviews, so the service you get appears to be based on how much money he needs on the day you come in and how much he can get out of you. Don't believe what they say about any high dollar repairs. Get everything in writing from him. The warranty he gives verbally is absolutely trash. In my experience, I've never run across a VW shop anywhere else this crooked.

I sufficiently explained EXACTLY what was wrong with it, but he legit blew me off. It was weird. He insisted on the key and then he said he'd call. So I gave him the key and waited. After 30mins, my buddy drove me past the shop to see their progress. I visually could see that it was resolved! But the mechanic hadn't called me yet. Clearly he was milking the clock. Then when I went to pay for everything, he charged me $25 for a completely unnecessary diagnostic fee. So I confronted him about it. He said: "You told me you didn't know what was wrong with it. We had to run a diagnostic. It's standard." Nah, bro. I told you EXACTLY what was wrong - I even showed you. He argued with me, and even tore up the receipt in the office saying: "Fine, don't pay for it!" I was in shock. Bottom line: this is not someone with whom you should do business. Incredibly disrespectful, emotionally unhinged, and thoroughly deceptive.

I finally decided to visit on Monday, June 16th, to have a worn spark plug replaced--I'm so glad I did. From the very first phone call, I was impressed. Jon, the service advisor, was friendly, clear, and professional. He took the time to explain everything in detail, including letting me know that their technicians would be taking lunch at noon--so I could plan my visit to avoid unnecessary waiting. That kind of thoughtfulness already set the tone for a great experience. They do not have a fancy waiting area nor a beautiful building facade or multiple choices of beverages but they have the best customer service, pricing and quality assurance of their work. From the outside, the building looks insight or unlikely but this is a total hidden gem on Bandera road. This is my new place for all my car's service and maintenance needs.
