My pickup wouldn't start. I know my way around an engine, so I diagnosed the problem as best I could from home in 100F weather and came to the conclusion that my fuel pump had likely gone bad. Not a repair I can do from home on this truck so it was off to Yelp Projects to get a quote for service on a worst-case scenario repair. Mark from Mendo Motorz contacted me back and did just that. I spoke with him on the phone and we went over what I tried and what it might be, and I was satisfied enough to have my vehicle towed in that afternoon. Knowing that my business depends on my vehicle running, they verified my suspicions before closing and Mark let me know that it would take a couple hours to fix come morning. Sure enough, it was ready before noon the next day, and considering a fuel pump replacement on my F150 requires dropping the fuel tank to do, it was a very quick turn around! The quality of the work was superb and communication was excellent the whole way through. The price for parts and labor was also well below some of the other quotes I was given which was only icing the cake! There is a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on parts and labor, but I'm sure it won't be an issue. Top notch garage. I would recommend them to anybody. read more

Service oriented establishment. Veteran owed and operated---I'm a Veteran so that was a go for me. My daughter's car had the engine lit up in the dash. We dropped the car off and Ernest got us a diagnostic done and narrowed down the possibilities. He kept in touch with me by text so that I knew every step of the way what was being done and the costs. My daughter left her iPhone on the counter and Ernest called to let us know. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I myself am a veteran and wanted to support a veteran owned business. I took my vehicle there, 30-40 minutes out of my way for issues with the A/C, after the diagnostic (roughly a $100 maybe a tad bit more) I was given a whole list of "problems" my vehicle "had". I was told I had a Freon leak, coolant leak, and my power fuse box needed to be replaced and that was why my A/C wasn't working. Little did the business know I ran my own diagnostic and knew all of these "issues" given to me were false, and they were trying to get as much out of me as they could. The fuse for my blower (for A/C) was burnt out and that was the only issue, but they did not know that I knew that. (I'd like to note that I am a female, so you know how that goes with mechanics.) I was also told I would need a new transmission after so many miles, which I knew my vehicle had 0 issues with the transmission because I take care of my cars, and there was never an indicator that ANYTHING was wrong. I was told to smack the power fuse box in order to get the A/C would work, and I knew right then and there what kind of business I was dealing with. "Hey just smack it even though nothings wrong so it breaks and you have to come back and pay $1000 just for a new power fuse box". They must have thought I wasn't very bright, I've since then recieved a few emails questioning if I would be returning and contemplated this review for a while, but if this review can help someone else that's all I care about. I'll probably recieve another email or call after the company sees this review, but I don't care. Do better, Mendo motors. P.S. I don't even know where to start with this company. I was in search for a mechanic and super nervous about finding someone who wouldn't poke my eyes out. This place was quick to respond and THEY R OPEN ON SUNDAYS!!!! Took my baby in because she was running rough, super nice Ernest explained what they were going to do and what tests were going to happen. Long story short wasn't what they thought was wrong with it but the kicker was this wonderful guy said to me he didn't want to charge me for something I didn't need!!! WHAT!!! Kevin had me tow it to him, he took it apart and determined that Valvoline had indeed put the wrong fluid in my truck and flushed it out to hide the type of fluid they used. Kevin called Valvoline to tell them that it was Valvoline's fault and they are responsible. Of course, Valvoline denies everything. But Kevin is not giving up. I have been looking around to have a fuel pump on my Dodge Ram replaced due to an error message I was getting. Called the dealership and they're price was really high and wouldn't look at if for 4 weeks. Called a few other places and looked up reviews on Yelp and Mendo Motorz reviews were great. I called them up and they said bring it in today. It was around 4:30pm when I arrived. They hooked it up to their machine and confirmed the diagnosis. I asked Ernest how quick he can get it fixed and he said if you leave it here I'll have it fixed by tomorrow. He gave me a better quote by about 33% lower and he told me he'd try to get it lower if he could. I thought, "OK". I'll be damned. He got it even lower. My husband took his car in for a simple brake issue. After a week of runaround Friday they said car was ready. We left the shop and immediately realized the car was not safe to drive. Called them to bring car back on Monday and a second week of investigating the issue-and more dash lights coming on that weren't the original issue-this shop determined they did not have the equipment to meet the needs of the car and took it to Gunn Chevy to have properly fixed. We paid about $1200 and were without our car 2 weeks. No returning as a new light came on 2 days after getting car back! Never again ! Mendo Motorz responded to my service request and had availability on Sunday to check it out. My concern was that I was from out of town and was worried about causing further damage if I drive home. I met with Ernest at 9 and a technician drove with me to diagnose the issue. I explained my concern about driving home. He was able to determine the issue and told me that while they could fix it, if I preferred to go to mechanic it was safe to drive home. Because I felt good about their honesty I had them repair it. Mendo Motorz found me via Yelp's project request. I posted that I needed a quote for brake replacement for my daughter's truck on Friday morning and got a response within 1/2 hr. I was provided with an estimate based on what I posted and was suggested that I call for details and schedule an appointment. I called on Saturday afternoon and explained more in detail what was going on with the truck. Spoke with Kevin, he would be able to work on truck that same afternoon. Made the appointment and drive out. From check in to check out it took only a little over an hour! The service was friendly and helpful they don't talk down to you because you're a woman. The waiting room was very clean and comfortable. I paid what I was quoted over the phone. Car is "breaking" great. No grinding noise. I definitely recommend this place for your auto service.
