Being a mechanical idiot, I needed a professional opinion before I bought a car, and my mechanic was too far away. I found the Drexlers, and they did a thorough inspection of the vehicle, showed me some work that would need to be done on it before too long, and gave me an over-all good review that allowed me to buy the car and put my 16-year-old daughter behind the wheel with my peace of mind intact. And they did this for free! They charged me NOTHING! Anyone who lives in their vicinity should give the Drexlers all your auto maintenance and repair business. They probably won't fix your car for free, but they really know what they are doing, and you can trust them!

Went in for front brake pads on my car 3 years ago, Rotors fairly new with tires had about 7/32…read moreleft on them. The mechanic checked my car and then talked to the front desk person. The desk person asked me to come out to my car; he wanted to show me something. He said the rotors and pads were worn out, and my tires were unsafe to drive on. I told him they looked fine to me, except the pads were getting thin. He said look at the metal shavings the pads had cut in the rotors. I said the pads have about 4mm left on them, so they couldn't cut in the rotors and there is no sign of damage to the rotors or metal shavings visible. He said it would be about $547 to fix it not counting the two front tires I needed. I said no thanks, put the tires back on, I didn't want the service. He said Well, I guess I can slap some front brake pads on the front for about $180. I agree to let him do it. My car has 30,000 more miles on it with the same tires and rotors, with the pads they put on. Knew then and confirmed with time it was all BS. Beware

Although I could list the multiple poor experiences I have had while owning my Jetta. I want to mostly mention the positive experiences I have had at this dealership. After I bought my Scion I wanted to get it inspected since it was a used car. I decided that I would take my car to this dealership knowing that they would be the best experts. My first interactions with the service department over the phone were very helpful. I was given exact directions and even made an appointment to come into the shop so there would be less wait time. After I explained that I wanted to get the $100 car inspected so I could mention any problems to the dealer before my warranty was up the service technician recommend to save money I should get an oil change instead. For Toyota every oil change comes with an inspection so the technician would just add on all of my inspection requests for the $35 oil change price. I also would then know the last time the cars oil was changed. I decided to get an oil change instead. When I returned to pickup my car the technician had a very clear inspection sheet about all the areas I should take to my dealer. In addition he even wrote me a letter with his concerns so I could have more leverage for the repairs I needed with the dealership. Due to the help of the Scion mechanics I got another $1000 in parts and labor for free from the dealership where I bought my Scion. (See my review of CarMax) During my initial visit the service technician registered my car with Toyota to show the change of ownership and printed out a preventative maintenance schedule so I could make sure to take care of my car. A few months later right as my car had gone 5000 miles I got a post card in the mail from the Scion dealership that it was time for my 35000 tune up and to call and make an appointment. I came in for my second appointment and just like my first encounter with the technicians I was greeted in a helping and professional manner. I was given a full detail report in clear written instructions what was preformed on my vehicle and the information was saved to my car's service account. When I pulled out my credit card hoping the cost would be under $300, I was asked for only $55 bucks. It seems like the dealership wouldn't even break even for the time it took to service my car! I have definitely found honest mechanics that care about customer service as much as they do about the car service. I look forward to having Scion as my primary dealership for the next 100,000 miles of my life.

He asked if I wanted him to fix it after showing me how simple of a fix it was (99 cavalier 2.2 non eco-tec engine, plugs and wires are right on the front. Super easy DIY change) I said nah, I'll do it but offered to pay him for pointing me in the right direction. He refused to accept payment just because he looked at it for a couple minutes and told me what to do. That's true class right there. I wish more businesses had that level of ethnic principle about them. I reached out to them today (12/12/2022) about an issue with a different car, but they told me they are no longer in the mechanic business and only do towing. Sad times for an upstanding level of service. If they ever check out these reviews, I just want to say a thank you from myself (and others who might not have told them) about how awesome their mechanic service was.

He's the kind of guy who will offer you advice on your car as you pull up, just by listening to the sounds it makes. He'll be right, too. And he's honest. I've seen him -- not heard about, but SEEN him -- send back parts which proved unnecessary. A truck driver told him to "just do it, ain't my money," and he replied "We don't need it. If I send it back, ain't NOBODY got to pay for that, or the service." I already used his services regularly. I won't let anyone else work on my vehicles if I can avoid it. But his actions that day, not to impress anyone, just business as usual -- that stuck with me. I've always considered his work exemplary and his prices outstanding. When he tells me the cost of something, I believe him. My first experience with his service was as skeptical as my experiences anywhere else, and when the cost was much less, I was worried about the service. But the truck that first time just kept on running, and kept on. So... as my own tractor saga went, desperate to get it up and running while failing on all fronts, I gave him a call just in case. He laughed and said "Naw, buddy, we don't really work on tractors." There was a pause, and then he said "What's wrong with it?" I told him, and he said "Call me back Friday. We're backed up right now, but I can make arrangements to come pick it up on Saturday, and take a look at her." That just doesn't happen much, and it's why I never pass up a chance to brag on him, encourage others to give him business.
