If I could give a lower review I would. Please never go here. I would love to see this business close down, if you can even call this place a business. They have the worst customer service. Incompetent individuals who are not helpful, can't be proactive in helping the customer, and just refuse customers at will. We have a check for 22K, have came in twice, because you know, this "business" cashes checks right? This is their whole business right? Cashing checks? 1st time, gave us an excuse not to cash. We fixed what they asked, 2nd time refused again. I bet if they were able to take half the check they would fucking cash the damn check. Like damn bro, what does your business do again? Wtf?! If I could give them zero I would. I have done banking with the location on Slauson and Western for years. And, I have never had an experience like I had today. The cashiers working this afternoon had more attitude then care for their processes or the customer. I was given attitude, over talked, and my money was short changed. When I asked the you lady to recount, she acted as if I was committing a crime. She rushed through the count and I still contest my money was short. She refused to assist me any further than she did. I left saying my money is not what I requested to withdraw. She was too busy calling someone else up and ignoring me to care. I took my money to B of A to make a deposit and their count also showed I was short. I called the store and was placed on hold for 5 mins. I called back and was sent to a fax machine. I waited 10 mins to call back. The person who answered the phone did the greeting and asked for my name. She would not give me hers. I explained why I was calling and was told they can't do anything because their busy. I stated I was on my way and asked could the drawer be audited. The call was disconnected. I arrived there and the cashier looks scared and wouldn't make eye contact with me. I waited in line and went to another window and ask for the manager. I was told she left for the day and I'm out of luck. So, I said she has to count her draw to close, I'll wait. After sitting for an hour I asked do I really have to wait til closing for an audit. The young lady went off on me. But, got up and hand counted the draw. My count was different from hers. She slammed her count on the counter and walked away without saying anything. Leaving me to try and read her numbers. Which showed the young lady was over, but, not the exact amount I was out of. I asked what's next? I was told nothing and given blank stares. I left feeling taken advantage of and belittled. I will end a 12 year financial relationship with them tomorrow. Also, it is horrible when prejudgement and rudeness is the standard for customer service. read more

Back when I used to get my paycheck 3 days before the date on the check, I used to come here and get it cashed. It's been a while since I've been here but recently I came by with the wife as she was getting her check cashed. This recent visit just reminded me of the problems this place has now and has had in the past...some of which are caused by those who work there and other issues have to deal with those who come here. First of all I can't really say anything bad about the service I've gotten here. Pretty much every employee who has helped me has done a decent job providing thorough and friendly services. Sonia, who works during the day always was friendly...remembered my face and would strike up conversation when being helped. What kills the rating for this place is the fact that every time I come here, there are only 1 or 2 windows open...even when there are a total of 4 service windows (and 1 window to the side, maybe for handicapped people?). Why have 4 windows and NEVER have all of them open, especially when you have a line of 8-10 people nearly forming out the door? I know the economy isn't so great that there isn't a shortage of willing workers who would gladly work here...so why the hell can't you have another 2 people to work the other 2 windows? And what bugs me more than anything is when there's a third worker on the phone or doing something other than helping people...management should seriously step up and hire more help to meet the demand. The other issue is with the people who come here. And there's nothing you can do to change that. It would be nice if people would get their "ducks in a row" before stepping up to the window... It's like, "No lady, I can't give you a loan for your boyfriend who is lazy enough to get his ass out of the car to come in and give me his info." But yeah...no bueno. read more

It is what it is. If you have a bank account you should never go here unless your strapped for cash and need a payday loan. And even in that case, make sure to not get caught up in the cycle. Its expensive. I give them 5 stars cause for what it is, they do it well. If you don't like the fee's then don't go. It's as simple as that. If I had to deal with everything these employee's have to deal with, I wouldn't be a pleasant person. That's for sure. read more

Ace Cash Express has a web site, but they do not say what they charge to cash a check. A Google search reveals a Yahoo page that says it's 6%, but that's wrong. It's 10% plus .99 cents. read more

One star is more than this check cashing facility deserves. I've gone here about 5 times for payday loans, ive always paid on time and never minded the substantial 9 business days required to reloan after your check goes to the bank. In fact, the workers at this store are so money hungry for you to reloan that they would not send the loan in, they kept calling me and calling me asking me if I was going in. I finally had to be borderline rude to the teller and told her to please just let the check go through. It finally did nine days after my set due date. Fast forward to today, I had some unforeseen circumstances and did not have enough to pay so I called the store to get an extension. The phone was answered by a lady with a thick accent and I was told I couldn't get more than 3 days. I brought up the fact that they held it for nine days last time and without skipping a beat she said that was the old system. OK lady. I called corporate and was unable to get anywhere. Terrible business. I was able to borrow some money and my loan will be paid off. Never again will I do business here again. Terrible, terrible customer service. read more

They then played dumb when I proved I knew they were blatantly lying to me. Offered a "discount" to make me go away. If there werent people waiting behind me, I would have continued to expose them. This review has nothing to do with this particular location but more towards the online and phone customer service. I took out an installment loan about 2 weeks ago, the first installment payment isn't even due yet. I called to payoff the loan using my bank account, they said that they could not take my payment on a Saturday using ACH method. Then my husband went to a store to payoff the loan because customer service said we could pay it in person. In the store they told him that because it was an installment loan he couldn't pay the loan in full, he could pay a portion today then the remaining balance on Monday online. I have never had such a hard time paying off a loan. read more

The service was very slow and they seem to be discriminating but I could be assuming on that one. Be very careful of this place. Avoid it if you can. First of all it cost almost 30$ to cash a check I enrolled in direct deposit and I was told that once it goes through I will get free bank atm withdrawals that is not true you have to go inside any bank for free. I have yet to see if that's true. I was told I would get a new card with my name on it and I got to chose a design. One the design isn't the one I chose and the card is a different number and I was told I'd have to. Hangs the direct deposit again???? I waited 2 pay periods for this one why would I change it again. I was told the info would all be the same. It's supposed to get your checks to you 2 days sooner first time it went through on thirs and this time it's not. They say it's my employer yea right. Checks are the same every other week. I was never told every transaction cost money. Now not only do I have no bank atm to withdrawal from for free but now I have to pay to even use the damn card. Oh yea and let's not forget I can't even call for the balance because they charge 50 cents each time. Crazy how they are allowed to screw people over like this. DO NOT get a pay day loan from Ace. They make you write a post dated check. And then if you can't pay back the loan . . . They use that post dated check to file criminal charges against you... Saying that you intentionally defrauded a financial institution. They are currently threatening to file criminal charges against me and threatening to have me arrested and thrown in jail...over a debt I can't pay. Debtors prison is supposed to be illegal in this country. But these guys have found a way around it! Be careful and never write a post-dated check! read more

The customer service team is a joke. Dont even try to get a complaint heard. "Nia" with customer service will just blindly transfer you over. She wont explain why she is. And she will also over talk you because apparently she knows why you are calling. And then also the "team manager" Tara will placate like she is doing her job and she isnt. Its pretty sad. And also dont allow the reps in the store to give you a flare card. One actually used info already in the system to change my DD! That was the most unprofessional situation I have ever been in.
