They told me they were no longer available until September--after my lease is up. They asked me to hold while they checked if something could be done. Naturally, I started freaking the heck out. To add to the stress, I underwent emergency surgery two weeks earlier, and now could not finish packing my apartment. I searched Google reviews for movers who also offered packing services, and reached out to Pony Express right away. I said that my scheduled movers may not be able to move me anymore, and asked about availability. I received a response from Mike almost immediately, who told me he could absolutely help me out before the end of September, and we made plans to communicate the next day. It turns out that my original mover was able to make a miracle happen and I didn't need to use Pony Express after all, but I was so impressed by Mike's service and help. I know that I will be calling them next time I move--which, let's face it, after all this stress, I hope is never.

Liedkie did a great job moving my mom out of her home of 50 years to a new apartment. During the move they made sure they put items where my mom wanted them, and when the job was done they made sure she was happy with the service and if there was anything else's they could do before they left. First they piled boxes and furniture so high in the new location that I could not move around the rooms or move any thing myself. They charged me to come back the next day and move things around so it was more manageable. Then I started noticing all the damage to several pieces of furniture. My furniture had some surface scratches from my cats and child. However there are now gouges and scrapes on the edges of all my tables and the frame fell off the glass from the bottom door of the barrister bookcase. When I contacted the owner as stated in his contract for damaged furniture, he said he was sorry I felt this way , they did a great job and to send him the court date.

There were two pieces which needed disassembly to get down the stairs. It wasn't bad enough that the stairs were narrow and had a low ceiling but also the landlord thought it was wise to paint the stairwell the day before. Moving can be a time fraught with anxieties about the place and furniture you've come to rely on and care for. Their calm diligence was reassuring from the start. At the house there were many additional boxes that had to go to the second floor and they adapted without pause. Their truck was pristine with everything loaded orderly in it's place so as not to be damaged. You knew that someone who cared that much for the tools of their trade would care for yours as well. These guys were not just professional but true Masters of their Craft. You can't go wrong with Capital Movers.

Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. For me, and possibly for you, U-Pack made my move as stress-free as possible.

We had to leave our stuff in storage in NYS for 8 months due to Covid restrictions and Mabey's made this easy to do. Pricing for our move was quite reasonable. Helpful hint: The packing crew should absolutely number each box with a sharpie and record how many boxes in total are being shipped. We have the unsettling feeling at least one box got left behind in NYS. So 4 stars not 5.

Horrible experience. Before my move in 2021, the company assured me they had never had problems…read morewith damaged furniture and talked me out of adding extra insurance coverage. That turned out to be a huge mistake. The movers arrived and barely spoke to me or even made eye contact. When my furniture was delivered, I was shocked by the amount of damage. Several pieces of solid cherry furniture had dents, scratches, and gouges, and it appeared that little or nothing had been properly secured inside the truck. They also damaged walls and put dents in my expensive front door while moving furniture through the house. My floor safe worked perfectly before the move, but afterward I had to destroy it just to get it open. They never explained why they refused to move a large computer desk or my matching Queen Anne recliners. They also failed to reconnect my convertible bed, leaving wires hanging out everywhere. Over the years I spoke with and emailed multiple employees, completed forms, and submitted photos multiple times. Each time I was told to resubmit documentation, and then I would hear nothing back. To this day I have not been reimbursed for any of the damages, which would supposedly be based on weight. This is by far the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. I would strongly caution anyone considering using them.
