Bob did a great job restoring my grandfather clock so it could once again work properly. It hadn't operated for over 10 years.

She promptly returned my call and we set up a day and time for her to come to the house. She said her cost was anything up to $300 to freshen it up. I stated it was freshened by Bob but now a chime had fallen. Not expecting $300. She came 8-31 and worked in the clock for a few hours and got it running again. She charged $300- which is more than we paid Bob to overhaul the clock after not running for 20 years. So this was surprising. As she left both her and my husband noted the pendulum was hitting the side but not with every swing. She said to call her back if it got worse. Yes- we had paid her $300 and it was not fixed. By the time I got home it was knocking both sides of the interior of the clock loudly with every swing. I stopped the clock and my husband called her back. She was out of town so we scheduled for today. We called last night to make sure we were all on the same page since she had not confirmed. She came today - this was a call back - and she spent 20 mins here and fixed the pendulum swing. On her way out - she said since it was a call back there was no charge. BUT THEN ASKED FOR GAS MONEY. Really? SHOCKED and just glad to have the clock working - my husband gave it to her. Expertise is costly and we are willing to pay but .......this was just rude and unprofessional. *** 9/14 update - Rachel did contact us after seeing this review and offer to refund our money. We appreciate the gesture but that does not change my review of the customer service. We did not accept her refund. We disagree with her business practices but in the end the clock is working.

I'm not someone who enjoys going to jewelry stores (the people always seem shady and smell blood in the water when they see an inexperienced customer like myself). Here was different. I walked in and was greeted kindly, and asked for my brief patience because all associates were helping other customers. Then, when I was assisted, it took less than 5 minutes. The person helping me was personable, friendly, and enthusiastic to help. The customer service here was top-notch, the environment was clean, homey and inviting, and the displays were organized and visually appealing. Now, let's cut to the chase--I got to meet GUNNER. It always makes my day to meet well-behaved pets in unexpected places. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would because of him being the goodest boy.

The lady at the front desk sized my wrist and then took my watch back to be worked on. Never quoted me any price. While I was waiting, my wife and I were pricing some pearls. (A wedding gift i intended to purchase from their store) When she returned from removing a couple links, I was informed that the cost of service was $50. $50 to size and remove links! No thank you, unfortunately have lost my business. I would avoid this shop.

I've heard of the Brass Bear when I've been to a few estate sales. So when I looked over while…read moredriving by and saw it, I figured I'd check it out. Kind of a mistake. It's a pretty big store, and there is a lot to see. I'm sure there are many fabulous items, but it's not really a place to "stop in and check it out." I think you have to both be in the mood/frame-of-mind to really look at everything and have the time to do it. You could very easily spend all day there. "Just browsing" isn't going to cut it. That said, I had neither the time nor the inclination to spend the time to really give it a good shopping. Instead I found it overwhelming, so I just politely walked most of the aisles only looking at the things that really jumped out at me. Because it was a Saturday, there seemed to be a number of vendors there, so I'm sure there are some interesting stories to be told, and they could surely help if you're searching from something specific.

I asked one gentleman at the cashier's desk if he thought a Vendor would be willing to negotiate over price of a specific piece of furniture and he quickly responded, 'Let's give him a call right now.' And sure enough, the Vendor did in fact work with me on the price and I went home with a chair I really wanted. Actually, there is a little bit of everything that collectors hope to see at the Brass Bear at reasonable prices. In addition, parking is free and convenient at the front of the store. Stop by one day when you have a free hour to treat yourself.

As far as Brighton at the Summit goes, the service and sales staff (particularly Rachel) are shining examples of what a shopping experience should look and feel like. My mother and I have a Christmas tradition: I give her a bright, shiny bauble or two from Brighton and she plies me with expensive electronics, jewelry, and designer clothing. Good deal! After nana's passing earlier this year, this holiday season was less than magical for our family. It was downright dismal. I dragged myself into trusty Brighton, kind of in a daze, and not convinced that anything was going to be special enough to lift mom's spirit and get me out of my holiday funk. Rachel, a bubbly and kind sales associate assisted me in designing my very own creation that incorportated memories of my grandmother as well as my mother and myself- a piece that can be passed on in our family. At under $300.00. That beats Tiffany any day. The service is incredible, the attention to detail is outstanding and all Brighton jewelry is nice enough to dress up and classic enough to dress down. Mom was brought to tears, I was uplifted, and dad was just happy we were happy. I have several bracelets, earrings, jewelry stands, etc that my husband has gifted me over the years. I've been experiencing some issues with my charms on a bracelet my husband has been building me and today we went to see if the store could assist us. Instead of taking us aside or to the counter to answer our questions/explain policy, the woman brushed us aside and told us she couldn't help us because of warranty expiration and we'd have to keep working at one of the clasps on our own, she "sees that issue all the time." While we understand policy, she was very short and rude. My husband was extremely insulted by her indifference. We felt as though she was viewing us as beneath the status of "ideal" customers. We went to Pandora and purchased jewelry there instead. If we do business with Brighton again, it will be with the Destin store, but once this bracelet is complete I can likely say so will be our business with Brighton.
