Unfortunately, Ace Discount Glass & Door does not have the tools for an Audi needed to calibrate the windshield once the class is installed. Of course, if they could do all services, the cost would be considerably cheaper. The business appears to a small entrepreneurship. The owner was very personable and straightforward. He even recommended another glass replacement company that might have the appropriate tools to complete calibration. Unfortunately, that company did not have the tools either. So, it looks like the windshield will be replaced at Audi. The great thing about technology like cameras and other gadgetry, they are great when they are working. The crack was bigger than before I brought it to them and they mentioned it cant be repaired and what's worse is they still charged me. Worst $80 I have ever spent. Poor quality of service. I don't know if it just happened to me or might happen to future customers. Like many others, I chose ACE for their "low-price" offer. While this time I learned there's no such thing as a free lunch. I called ACE Glass on Monday morning. They assured me that I could just walk in to get a windshield installed. However, when I called in the afternoon wanting to check for availability they said they didn't have the windshield in stock, so I had to make an appointment. WHAT? That means I almost went for nothing but an empty promise. Robert told me to call on Friday to book my appointment on Saturday, assuring me that he would get the windshield ordered in this way. BUT when I arrived in the EARLY MORNING on Saturday they didn't have the glass yet. This time I wasted my time for NOTHING. They should have given me a call ahead to tell me all the updates. What they did in the end was just offer few apologies, as if the matter wasn't important. ACE Glass clearly does not take their customers or their time seriously. I hope my experience helps others avoid the same frustration. read more

We had our shower remodeled, the contractor we used did not have glass in their scope. I spoke to a few neighbors who had used ACE in the past and their reviews were similar to those on this page, better than average or better. RJ came out and spent some time with measurements and questions about what I wanted. He was informative, direct and made sure I knew what the options were - the remodel company had made some awkward angles making this a challenging job. I had quotes from other companies, most of them submitted it without visiting - I'm glad that ACE came to the house. After some education on glass, angles, stress points, recommendations, guidelines and codes, I went with ACE and glad that I did. Glass took about 8 days to arrive, we scheduled the install shortly after. Brian and Ben performed the install, not an easy job but they certainly were up for the challenge. Work was tedious but they did a great job - the options we chose looked great and are exactly what we expected. Two places quoted me $660 range due to having to order the glass from Mazda, wait for it to arrive, pick up from Mazda, etc...I could bring it in in five days. Ace estimated $240 plus tax and could have it done today, and estimated an hour wait to do it if I wanted to wait there. They did a fabulous job and I am SO appreciative. Ace installed a glass shower for us about 4 years ago. Recently, the glass shower door spontaneously "exploded". Luckily, no one was in the shower, so no injuries. When contacted Ace would offer no possible cause/reason for this door to explode, Another supplier provided a plausible explanation for this "explosion". The wall is not straight, and the hinges were not adjusted to compensate. This caused the hinges to be out of alignment and each to pivot in a different plane. This caused stress in the glass that caused it to eventually explode. . From an Engineering and Physics viewpoint this door was going to fail at some point. Ace disagreed with the above analysis, but still offered no reason for the explosion. Ace suggested I contact the hinge manufacturer to confirm that misaligned hinges would not cause this glass explosion. That company would not even discuss this with me. Ace quoted replacing the door in exactly the same manner of the one that exploded, leaving us concerned that it could explode again. This time it may injure someone. The company that found the cause of the explosion offered a solution to correct the stress issue by shimming one hinge to put them both pivoting in the same plane, and at a slightly lower price than ACE offered. read more

I have never left a review on Yelp, but I felt like this little mom-and-pop glass shop deserves one. If you want a friendly person to answer the phone when you call, and to have fast quality service, then this is the place for you. Story: I was driving to work, in my newly purchased Jeep Wrangler, when a rock hit my windshield and left a pretty decently sized chip in it. I immediately started calling to get it fixed. Safelite will not let you make an appt over the phone, nor will anyone answer. The automated message tells you to make an appt online. They also couldn't come to me for over a month. Another glass company that is directly across the street from my work told me it'd be 3 weeks before I could get in. I called Ace, and they got me right in. I was in and out within a half hour, and they fixed the chip better than I could've hoped for. (Which is nice because no one wants a ding on a new vehicle.) I also felt very nostalgic sitting in their waiting room. They aren't the newest or fanciest place, but they are warm, welcoming, locally owned, and were happy to have my business. I'll take that any day over a shiny corporation where I'm just a number in a queue. Thanks Ace! read more

I had a small (dime size) crack on my windshield that was caused by a rock falling from a truck on the highway. I knew if I left it alone it would increase in size because it has happened to me before. So I shopped around for an affordable alternative to "Safelite" because they were expensive when I used them in the past. The Pros of Ace: They were fast (within one hour and a half they were done). The hill country ride to their location has nice views. The repair was extremely affordable at $57 plus tax. The Cons of Ace: The repair looked incomplete. The windshield still had two scratch marks that the repair guy claimed he could not erase. Within 5 minutes of me driving away a tiny crack started to form in the same area. Conclusion: They do good quick repairs and they are affordable but the quality of their repair was unsatisfactory. Looks like I am going to have to go back to "Safelite Auto Glass" repair to fix the scratch before it gets worse again. More money but better quality work. read more

My car was broken into via breaking the front passengers window and after seeing a recommendation for this place on reddit I gave them a call and they were SO NICE! They gave me a quote and said they could even fix it same day which was AMAZING. I drove ~20 minutes to get there and it was so worth it! They had it all fixed AND they thoroughly cleaned up all of the glass within an hour. Everyone was so nice and the price was great (much better than anywhere else). After getting our sunroof and windshield replaced at Ace, I wrote a review on 10/26 because they broke our stereo while they were in the car. It was fine when I dropped it off and broken when I picked it up (see previous review for details). I wrote my Yelp review and finally got a response to call a different guy named Robert. I called and we spoke. He still wouldn't claim responsibility, even claimed my son probably punched it in himself but offered to split the cost as a compromise. After the replacement was done, I texted him to tell him what his half would be and he asked me to remove my review before he paid anything. That condition was not in our first agreement. I told Robert, that their mistake cost us $500. If he would pay half, he could respond to my review with whatever he wanted to say about our compromise and I would not ever write anything about their company again. He could have the last word if he paid half, but I wouldn't take the review down unless the issue was completely resolved and we were fully compensated. At that point, Robert rescinded his offer for half of the damages. He said he wouldn't pay anything. I could have used the $250.00 but I felt it was more important to let people know how poorly they treated us and handled the situation. Ace Glass didn't want to do what was right. They just wanted to do what was best for them, and even got nasty about it. So I kept my review up and now we're out $500 for the replacement of the stereo. There will always be mistakes and misunderstandings, but the value of a company should be weighed by how well they do their job, and their integrity in dealing with errors and issues. read more
