We have gone to this store since 1997. The owners are fantastic people. They run a very good business and serve a critical need for our community. They are very upright people. I probably go here 3 to 4 times a week for the projects that I'm working on. It is rare that they don't have the little Gidget or ditz all that I'm looking for. High mark all around. read more

Absolutely the worst, rudest and most condescending service. They clearly don't care about business because they let that older gal work there and treat customers poorly over and over and over. Nobody needs to shop at Ace - Home Depot, Lowes and Amazon are cheaper and not one cares if you wear a mask and don't make a big deal either way. Not a fan of how we were talked to because we did not wear a mask. We are vaccinated and the Oregon governor says it's ok to not wear a mask and the CDC backs this. I have no problem with businesses requiring it but when all have signs they have are pre the new mask guidelines and then are rude to you because they have signs posted they might want to update them to date yes governor and CDC orders say you don't need them but we still request you wear them. And maybe have your staff not be rude. I have been immunized since January and have a degree in public health and work for a hospital, but I love having cashiers be rude because we did not wear a mask since the guideline was changed and their signs are the same they had before the mandate was lifted. I respect business choices and we will follow but look how you talk to people and maybe reevaluate how your signs are same as before and being told "until we know more" is a joke that you trust news and the fear mongering of news over the CDC and Oregon Health Authority. read more

I like this place, I really do. They have good stock and good prices. They even accepted a coupon that was for a different ace hardware. The problem for me is entirely the employees. Sometimes they are awesome, and sometimes they are just not that good. Sometimes they even tell me that I know more than they do. This would be fine and almost expect at a Home Depot, but I support local business when I can and I really expect some experts to work and help me. I come back here because their selection is just that awesome and they're by far the best in the area. I just wish sometimes they had better employees all the time. read more

I stopped at Ace on 9/24/2020 at 5:00pm. I left when in the first minute of entering the store I saw two employees with masks not covering their noses as well as two customers also wearing masks not covering their noses. Where is the incentive for shoppers to wear masks when staff aren't properly wearing theirs. I am trying to support local businesses as much as possible during these difficult times but my health comes first. I will order the items I was after online. read more

The best Ace Hardware I've been to on the west coast. Met the buyer for the store and he says he tries to keep a pretty cross section of stuff, which this place has. This place has magnetic for everything from picking up nails on the road to ones that are for refrigerator. Their nail selection is insane. They have nails I have no idea what they are for. To find things one doesn't even know they need take a look at the end caps. If this place doesn't have what you need then you probably don't really need it. read more

This is place is *awesome*! But here is 'the catch': plan on spending two hours in this place. The only thing it did not really have was plants and pots, and maybe lumber? Otherwise.....it has it all! Since they have too much to list I will just tell what 'turned my head'. They had 4-5 different kinds of magnet, metal picker uppers (for nails in driveways), 10-15 different kinds of crowbars, an insane number of gloves, the biggest bulk nail selection I have ever seen, keys made with every possible keychain accessory, hobby paints, a huge selection of gardening tools, 2-3 benches......they even had old school woodworking tools (ie: folding wood ruler?). The man at the back counter was awesome, too. He does all the ordering and we talked for sometime. He gave me some good ideas on tools for specialized tasks I needed to do. I saw him all over the store, though....making keys and helping people. Another employee over by the garden section helped me by going out of her way to come up with a way I could modify something to work when I was having no luck otherwise. Worth the drive there! I love Ace Hardware stores in general, but this one deserves an award for the sheer amount of variety, and fabulous staff. (Oh, and afterwards? Go to 'the Taco Bus' just west of there down Pacific Ave past the McMenamins Grand Lodge. All the mexican food there is fabulous and fresh. I like the carne asada tostadas, and my husband likes the traditional tacos. The Grand Lodge is also fabulous for cheap, FUN rooms and cheap, comfortable movies where you can order food at the same time.) read more

Really love this place... I've been in the area for nearly 30 years. Ace Hardware has got their act down - plenty of knowledgeable staff, TONS of bits and pieces to get just about anything done you need to get done. You may end up paying a little more for some items, but that's what it means to run a local business. And what you get out of that as a customer is service... service, service, service. In the long run that means more than paying a couple of bucks less at Walmart. I highly recommend Ace here in Forest Grove. Keep them in business! read more

I love this store. You can find anything you need here. It's an average sized store, but they tuck copious variety onto their shelves, all of it useful, all of it good quality. It's nice to have something local, where the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, can always help you find what you need or help you figure out how to fix whatever is broken. I have been to very few hardware stores where the staff actually knew anything about hardware. Ask for a "filister head screw" at a big-box store and you'll get a blank stare. Ask for one at Miller's Ace and the old feller will explain to the young feller what they're usually used for. No way would I wast my time anywhere else. read more

I was greeted with a "hello" when I walked through the door, but then nothing. This isn't my normal Ace that I go to, but I tend to gravitate to local businesses. I was expecting the same quality service that I normally get at my local Ace (in Portland). I'm not sure I'll be going back. I was looking at paint (it's right across from the check out line). I stood there for over 10 minutes (I was on lunch so I paid attention to the time) looking at colors. At no point did anyone ask if I needed help or even how I was doing. I was in plain view of the employee at the check out lane the entire time. Other than her (she was busy with a line of people), I didn't even see another employee. There are a little rude on the store front, and have to search for someone to help as the people they hire to cashier only do that ,and seam to know nothing... Also save that return policy sucks won't even exchange without your sales receipt and tell you they have to see the idea before they can agree to exchange it... really too bad as I like to shop local but looks like I will have to go to Home Depot who has a great return policy ... read more
