I read the negative reviews and wanted to laugh. One star reviews for hand sanitizer smelling bad. Another one star review for employees asking if you need help. So lame. I rather shop here over the big box stores any day! Everyone is so helpful! If I want to buy a specialty screw I can buy just one instead of a dozen. If I am not sure what will get the job done two employees will help me brainstorm. If they don't know or don't have it they will recommend someone that might. Every employee I interact with is cool even when a bunch of nubs come in all in a panic because of a hurricane. Six stars to counter balance the one star reviews from the nubs. My husband & I have been to the store on Babcock several times in the last week or so... Every time we go, there is ALWAYS someone there to not only greet us & ask if we need help but to actually HELP us! Not just "oh, let me look at my phone app" like the big box store employees do. They are awesome! Yesterday, we were there to get Black Mulch, we got 8 bags, but after coming home and spreading those 8 bags we realized we needed 16 more bags!! So, I went back and got them & 2 people came out and loaded them all into the back of our van. Our property now looks great again!! Thank You!! Now, I also want to mention the amount of Dedication these employees have! My husband is Legally Blind, which is really hard to deal with, but he can see some and REALLY likes to fix things and stay busy... So, we are often on the lookout for strange items or strange sizes of things... About a week ago we were looking for a special size screw and no one seemed to have it. But the employee worked with my husband trying to figure out the best solution to his issue. About 15 minutes later, he goes to the checkout with a threaded rod, the exact with he needed!! Perfect Solution! (& Just to say, the Big-Box-store not only didn't have the right size screw or threaded rod - they also didn't have anyone who knew what they were doing, let alone could talk without having a phone in their hands!) Firstly, not one employee had a mask on or kept 6' away from the customers, or each other. I purchased two bottles of the "Hemp" hand sanitizer, which smelled really bad. I know it has alcohol in it, but it doesn't smell like rubbing alcohol, it smelled like tequila, and old, leftover tequila, at that. As soon as I left Ace and got into my car, my grandson used the hand sanitizer. When I squirted it, I immediately smelled it. The smell was so unpleasant, he gagged. I hadn't even left the parking lot, and all he did was use one squirt. I circled the parking lot and stopped in front of the store, and asked one of the workers standing outside, if he could please help me, because I could not go back into the store and stand some more, as I have problems walking, and with the mask on, I started to feel lighted-headed (I'm a senior citizen, and I have an autoimmune disease, and we should all wear a mask in public, so I do). He sent somebody else out from the store, who told me it could not be returned, despite the fact that I had purchased it not even five minutes earlier. The reason given was "because of COVID?" Huh? I don't understand this? Are they not accepting ANY returns? I don't think so, since they told me the keys I just had cut, could be returned if they didn't work. So what's the difference? COVID doesn't live on a bottle of hand sanitizer any better than it does on a set of keys! All I did was, I squirted a little into my grandson's hand, and I had gloves on! I still even had my mask on, as I had just gotten into the car. So I have $13 worth of unusable hand sanitizer which smells horrid. When I had this problem with a different brand of hand sanitizer, I read in some of the reviews that others experienced the bad smell, and sometimes there's a bad batch which just smells dreadful. Walmart was apparently aware of this and immediately refunded my money. Guess I'll shop at Walmart and Lowe's and forget about Ace. Most of us right now, are not in a position to just throw $13 away. read more

I have been to many other Ace Hardware locations, as I've moved quite a bit. I have to say that the customer service and employees at this particular location are the nicest I've ever met. The moment you walk through the door, you get greeted by any and everyone near the front. Then, as you move further within the store, you never have to look for assistance because they appear out of nowhere. And everyone employee is extremely knowledgeable. It's like your presence sets off a distress beacon if you show the least bit of confusion or disorientation. And, if you need anything heavy carried to the car, never fear, an ACE Hardware employee is always near. I love going into this store. You truly feel like a VIP. Beware shyster alert. Rewards mean NOTHING here. They send you a coupon for savings and the window to use it is at a later date and is very small. This way you glance at the coupon and go buy something you need with the rude sales people who think you are a thief and they tell you at the cashier that it is only good on the 28th or something but you rec'd the coupon on the 11th or so. My first and last time visiting this place. I've live in Palm Bay for 20 years and this is the first time I e visited this store and I must say I can tell why this chain of stores is a dying breed. You cannot look at anything without someone coming up to you literally every 2 mins asking if you need help. It's like seriously I just told the last 6 people in 10 mins I did t need help why would I need help from the 7th?! I was looking for a specialty lubricant that usually only places like Ace sell and it must be low odor for what I use it for so I was looking at the lubricants this y'all lurch looking guy comes up again and asks if he can help me and I said no thank you just like I did the other 7 times. Then he stands there just watching me like I was a thief or something (it's like dude I am looking at cans of lubricant, what kind of shenanigans can I really get into?). So I took the cap off several to smell the inside of the can (not spraying anything) and cause I'm now uncomfortable cause he is just sitting there mentally undressing me with his eyes finally I tell him the reason I am smelling the inside of the caps, and this lurch looking dude barks "don't spray anything in the store!" I was like dude I'm not spraying anything. So embarrassed for being scolded for not doing anything wrong I just walked out empty handed. I will go buy the same thing online for half the price and less harassment from the employees that are suppose to help you. Too bad too I was actually looking at the Big Green Eggs for $1200+ and was thinking of getting one for Father's Day weekend. But because of lurches attitude I wouldn't buy it here if they were selling them for $1. I can't wait until this Ace hardware (like all the rest) stop ripping off the locals and closes its doors and they tear down they eye sore of a store. If you like to be treated like a criminal and get placed into a line up the minute you walk thru the door, than this is your kind of place! Everytime my wife, toddler and I come into this store, there's usually always someone awkwardly standing at the front door to say hello and ask if you need help with something. If you say "no thanks" and keep walking, they get on their ACE secret service head sets and start giving other workers a description of you and the direction you're heading as you're walking past them. My last visit was pretty ridiculous. Walked in looking for some spray paint, got asked by three employees if I needed help, I said no, yet one of them continued to linger and not leave my side. Went to go check out and there was a rude young blonde cashier helping a customer. Meanwhile, there was a older lady who appeared to be the head cashier holding the counter down with another employee just watching the blonde girl. Must've waited in line for 3-4 minutes when all of sudden another guy got behind me and the head cashier called the guy behind me to check out. Seriously, what the heck? Meanwhile the young blonde girl is helping the same customer in front of me. Finally when it was my turn she was completely rude and had no personality. From now on I will just take my business to Home Depot. Especially since the spray paint I bought was close to five bucks for a can, when I went to Home Depot, the same exact spray paint was $3.25 and the customer service was better. I work hard for a living and everything I got, I don't appreciate being treated everytime like a shop lifter. read more

Ace is the helpful place! Prices are high, but when you need real service go to ACE! Always check on their sales they do have good sales. I like a lot of the brands they stock in the garden area. Ordered a lawnmower online as store does not sell them only ace.com saddest mistake I've done , they lied all the way , and never contacted me regarding the status. I did all the calling for updates , I also was told thus mower could be put together and said that will be another fee. On the day it was delivered to the store i cancelled the order because of the fee for putting together. Three hours after I cancell I get an email stating the mower has been shipped and card was charged. I called my card holder and told them everything and that I do not have the mower nor did I go to the store as I cancelled earlier in the day. I will never go to ace or ace.com for anything ever, not even an I'm sorry ,no communication between .com and store and me I did all the follow up and ended up not taking it at all called the card issuer and delivery email people. So impressed with this Ace Hardware...fantastic customer interaction without being pushy. Their knowledge base in virtually every hardware category far exceeds the big box stores. There is a "hometown feel" in this store and yet, they have an amazing inventory...especially of those hard to find parts. Tabitha and Kevin are both really great customer-oriented leaders. I needed a very specific item and they both knew exactly what it was and...more importantly...they had it!!
