A driver from this company jumped out of the truck after driving around my car and cutting me off, came to my vehicle enraged cursing at me and banged on my car window with his fist.. He did this because he tried to change lanes in front of me without putting on his signal light and failed.. This happened Sun. 8/13/17@ 7:39 pm heading north on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn N.Y.. He placed several peoples lives in danger...I am a female and the guy (white middle aged male)and his side kick (young black male) both jumped out of the truck!!!!!. Unfortunately, a very bad moving experience. I set up the move weeks in advance, paid the $50 deposit, and felt pretty good about the move. The lady at the front desk had assured me of the price, advised me on how to tip, and sold me a mattress bag: I was set. I confirmed with her, several times over, that there would be no hidden charges anywhere. Service in the office is great, and I was feeling pretty relieved. On the day of the move: - I know standard 'niceness' may not be in their job description, but it was like these guys were really trying to be rude. One of them said a few words to me, confirming I was me. The others zoomed past me and proceeded to enter bedrooms and grab belongings - you aren't going to say hi? You may be the movers but this is my apartment. - They were inefficient. Ended up taking a lot longer than promised, and one of three movers was always waiting for the other two. Guys - for real? This is a per-man, per-hour service. - They don't guarantee that any IKEA furniture will survive the move (i.e., if IKEA breaks, it's on me). I get it - IKEA furniture is cheap for a reason. "Great," he said, and proceeded to carry out my IKEA furniture without even wrapping it up. Any non-IKEA piece was carefully wrapped. But IKEA was dragged out. When he smashed the corner of my desk against the door on his way out, I protested. "Aren't you going to wrap any of it?" --"No. It's IKEA. We're not liable if it breaks." WTF ---I know that's your disclaimer, but you're not even going to TRY to not break it? - Before they left my apartment, they mentioned I'd also need to pay the price of a parking ticket. Wait, why?? "Because we'll get a ticket. No parking spots in NY." Me: "Um - isn't it your fault if you double-park?" I mean, that's why I'm paying for movers - so I don't have to worry about this stuff. Them: "No." I get it, It's New York. Parking is tough. "Fine. But I'm not paying for a parking ticket unless you actually get a parking ticket." Them: "You have to. Parking ticket fee." WTFFFFF Finally, the truck pulled out. They met me at my new apartment. My roommate and I found a parking spot and defended it with the vigor of true New Yorkers. The truck showed up and parked. No parking ticket. - After a terrible move, I get the bill - WAY higher than I expected. I'm talking over a hundred dollars higher than promised. Why? All kinds of extra fees and charges. An example: gas fee. "But I'm already paying for a transportation fee. Isn't that the same thing? And the drive over here was less than 5 mins, so even that is ridiculous. You probably used almost no gas." Nope - huge gas fee. Etcetera. - At the end of it all, I didn't even get my $50 deposit back, or subtracted from the total charge. I tried calling the office, but to no avail. The only reason this place isn't getting a 1 star is that most of my stuff actually did make it to my apartment unharmed. Chose them based on their BBB rating. Truth be told, it really doesn't matter. All these movers contract out their long distance moves to other independent carriers. However, my issue isn't with the independent carriers, just with Ace Moving. Don't ever believe their initial estimate. They'll find a way to increase it substantially when they finally get to your place to make a visual estimate. Everything that I packed on my own made it through the move from NYC to CA without an issue. The few items I asked Ace Moving to pack and move were all damaged. One of the items I asked them to pack was a custom print, and the other was a custom square table I built a number of years ago. They ripped the custom print, and my table was cracked in a few places. Had to go back and forth with their claims people for quite a bit and the reimbursement offer was heavily delayed. Because reimbursement is by weight, I considered the settlement they offered a slap in the face. My advice to you is to just find a middle of the road mover for long distance hauls. Whether you choose an expensive top tiered mover or cheaper mover, chances are, they are going to contract it out to the same if not similar long distance movers. This was a complete and utter horror story!!! Roped in with a number that would be less than 1/3 of the final cost, I was a broke, recent college grad looking to flee the Tri State Area and begin a new profession. When they told me they didn't need a walk through, I insisted they come over and get an idea of my belongings to give me an accurate quote. They insisted back that this wouldn't be necessary. I packed my boxes myself, as they requested. They came one fateful Wednesday afternoon, 3 hours late, to move my belongings. As the truck filled, they began telling me the price had tripled. At this point, I was frustrated because I was trapped. They explained it was because the number of belongings I had. I said, "this is why I asked for a walk through." And the man said, "you should have insisted." To which I said, "I did. "You should have tried harder," he replied. When was this my job? How would I have known. THEN He demands a tip... before delivery... When we give him the couple hundred, he says, "this is too low." And makes us give them 35% of the 3x marked up moving cost for him and his thugs or else we wouldn't get our stuff. You can't make this up. Don't worry, it gets worse. Over a week after they told me they would drop my things off, they finally showed up... at 10:30PM. After continuously calling them, they gave me ten minutes to get to my place. They told me my belongings would stay in the same van with the same people, the van and the people changed. They told me I had to pay the rest of the money in cash, as in paper money, not a bank check. I HAD TO WALK THROUGH DOWNTOWN AT DARK WITH OVER A GRAND ON ME. They then surprised me with an additional $150 because of how far from the curb I lived, saying it should have been $300 but they liked me. Yeah... I had to borrow that money from my brother. I felt utterly taken advantage of, helpless, and embarrassed. As they unloaded the poo show that was my belongings, I only saw smashed boxes. The only things they asked me when they moved my stuff, KID YOU NOT, was how much it cost to live in my apartment and how much I was making. Did I just hire the mafia's laundering business front?! Expect every bit of this. I was SO lucky my brother was there because I honestly thought worse would have happened to me. In dire need of boxes for an imminent move, I happened upon Ace on 14th street. The helpful saleslady quickly gathered together my 15 boxes of varying sizes (what can I say, I have a lot of stuff) and deftly improvised a handy carrying handle out of string -- she's clearly a pro. She also upsold me on a plastic mattress bag, which in retrospect I am thrilled to have purchased because my mattress is now in storage and I could only imagine how filthy it would be if I hadn't zipped it up in plastic first. They also have packing tape and other moving supplies. And you can also book their moving service here -- while I had already booked different movers, I would venture a guess that the moving service is also efficient and professional. read more

This is by far the worst moving company I have ever come in contact with. First off, they quoted our 1.5 bedroom apt. On the phone at $1300, then when they picked up our stuff, they said it was $2300. Throughout our rebuttals with this, we were met with hostility. (The foreman also was showing us $2000 Egyptian artifacts he was going to buy because he was so rich.) We called when we were told to expect our things, and talked to a man named Ronnie who said the truck should leave and be in Florida in a couple days. Two days later he says, you should call me tomorrow and I'll tell you the drivers name. I called the next day, to which he says, the truck is on it's way, and we should have our stuff in another 3 days. 2 weeks later, they not only say they have not loaded the truck in Queens yet, but they did not even have a truck yet. And again we were met with rude behavior. The owner of the company, Eli, said, "Were really stressed out! I have had some people's stuff for over a month and they're really upset with us, we're just trying to find a truck!" He was incredibly rude to us, the customer, who were only inquiring about our belongings. We finally received our things 3 and a half weeks later. Upon receiving our stuff, we were missing a box of videogames, around $2000 worth of stuff in there, sent my quote to the insurance agency of Ace, and only received $36 because their policy is based on weight, which I admit they did let me know beforehand. I am not surprised that a company like this thrives due to the amount of con-artists they have working for them. I warn you, Do not pick them, because even if you are really good at seeing through the lies, they will find a way to steal your money. Also, notice how Eli, the owner, has been childishly commenting on all the bad reviews (all of them, don't be fooled by the fake ones) and is lying about what happened. This was the worst place ever and I will never return. I work nights in Union Square. I was moving and needed some boxes last minute. I had no time to go to Home Depot before work started and this place was a half block from my job. So I get there the door is locked but a woman is sitting inside smoking a cigarette. She stares at me for a few minutes, gets up walks to the door then yells through the glass what do you want? Now normally I would have left but the movers were coming the next day and I needed to finish packing. So I say boxes and she unlocks the door puts her lit cigarette in the counter and rudely asks what I want. I tell her three small three medium. Then I changed it to three small Book boxes and three medium. She got angry made a rude remark then tried to sell me moving services. I said no thanks she charged me 21 dollars for 6 boxes that is way overpriced. Finally she rings me up takes my money doesn't give me a receipt which was fine, but when I asked her to tie the boxes together so they are easier to walk with she took a drag off the cigarette that's still lit indoors then makes a big production out of putting the string in like it's not a part of her job. NO NO NO! This was by far the worst moving experience AND the worst transaction I've ever encountered in the service industry. I am not prone to complaining or being picky about services rendered, but this was outrageous. I hired Ace to move my possessions cross-country. Not only did the items arrive a few weeks later than the sales rep had told me, but boxes marked "fragile" were delivered upside-down, and my bike was bent and dismantled. The WORST part of it all was that they charged me $200 more than the price they originally quoted, and only informed me of that once my items were en-route. My final amount was over $700 dollars of what they told me and I even moved less then what I had told them originally. They added in gas payments and sales tax as well. 2. Delivery was delayed over a week from the date they said the shipment would arrive. The owner actually said "we don't have to deliver on any date. We can deliver it whenever we want to." they told me multiple days and times they would arrive and didn't make any of them till the final one 3. THE CUSTOMER IS KEY!! Granted some customers can be a pain-- I've worked in a customer service job and it can get rough. But by no means is it appropriate to yell at your customer who just wants to know where the dam n truck is because we've been waiting outside our new apartment for over an hour. Imprecations aside, the movers themselves were friendly, and efficient. There were 3 of them and were able to load the stuff from our 1.5bdrm apartment (with no living room) in 1.5hrs. Took them longer than expected to arrive at our new place, and so we called the office to see where they were. DUDE IN THE OFFICE - you need a lesson in human decency. I feel sorry for any customer who has to deal with you. Don't raise your voice and give excuses when that's not what we called you for. Just tell us where the dam n truck is. Over all the service took 3.25 hours, and we were charged $535. We gave $75 ($25 each) for tip for a total of $610. After the incident over the phone, would PASS on using these guys. read more

Very bad moving service due to added fees and careless service. The quote/time was estimated at less than HALF what it took the movers who clearly operated at the companies pace. I spent more then double for my simple move. Also items were damaged/dropped and not fixed or replaced because they were self packed. Glass was broken in my apartment and the only way i found out was by seeing the item in the garbage.. Also be very carful of the extra charges they nailed me with...which included extra large boxes 'to help them move quicker', and $110 to wrap 2 TVs which consisted of a ripped up picture/frame box and a few feet up bubble wrap, which i was told by the person i set up the move with, would be about half that price. I gave ACE (Frank was my contact) a detailed inventory of the contents of my apartments including precisely measured furniture and boxes. My inventory came out to 250 square feet. In long distance moves, movers typically charge btwn ($4.00-$5.00) a square foot. ACE charges $4.50. When they loaded the actual truck, the actual amount was 450 sq. feet. This was almost double the estimate. I did not watch them load the truck so I really don't know whether this was the actual amount of space my stuff required or whether they created space by loading my things inefficiently. Once the stuff is on the truck, you don't really have any recourse. They will not unload it and you probably don't have the time to do anything. To add insult to injury, they received a $130 dollar parking ticket that I was forced to pay as well. Overall, this move cost me $1,100 over their initial estimate. That being said, it was probably unreasonable to assume I could move the contents of my house cross-country for $1,200. This is a typical practice in the moving business of low-balling the estimate. Going with a reputable mover like Mayflower or Vanlines will probably get you to an equal or higher price to what I actually paid. However, you'll have better information about whether you should move or get rid of your stuff. The movers did a good job of picking up, and delivering my stuff. All my things arrived intact. I did not have a delivery location in Arizona secured till a few weeks after the initial pickup of my furniture. Once I found an apartment, they were able to take the stuff out of storage and deliver it really quickly (7-10 days). They were also able to drive the 18 wheeler into my complex so I did not incur an offloading or long carry charge. Those are additional charges in cross-country moves when a giant truck can't get into your complex. Lesson learned: * Sell your furniture if it's not really expensive * Ship your TV and other valuables if it's expensive by UPS, US Mail, AMTRack * Ship expensive kitchen and cookware * Sell or give away everything else and just buy it again. You don't want to hassle with long distance movers unless you absolutely have no choice. read more

No attempt to resolve the problem by ACE, no calls to let us know what was going on, only passing the blame onto their 3rd party 'partner' (that we were never told they were going to use) - who ended up being equally as pissed off at them as I was because they never told him how far out of his normal route we were. Our things arrived 2 weeks after we were told they would, several breakages, no apology or offer of compensation from ACE for having to purchase essentials because of having to wait that long for our thing to arrive. Short story: You would be an idiot if you chose to move with this company. Long story: Ace is basically the moving equivalent of getting industrial-grade silicone butt injections in a rundown Miami neighborhood - friendly at first, super cheap, and may get the job done, but in the end nobody will return your calls, you'll wish you used actual professionals, you'll wonder why you didn't listen to people who warned you about them, and you'll regret the decision forever. In other words: 1) If you value your time, accuracy of the services described, and people who take responsibility for their mistakes, AVOID USING ACE. When my delivery date was scheduled to be 3 weeks after what was promised, Lou, Beth, and Ronnie all pointed fingers at each other and basically told me to accept my predicament, offering no compensation or reimbursement. Lou was nice at first, but when he realized he made a mistake in timing, he resorted to calling himself a "low level employee who can't do anything". 2) If you want your belongings to be in the condition in which you packed them, free from heavy damage, AVOID USING ACE. The boxes that arrived at their final destination all looked like they'd been run over by the truck that delivered them. My TV, which was in a box and packed by Ace, was nicked all over, glasses were broken, a console table was badly scratched, a lampshade crushed, and a pendant light completely cracked, even though everything was wrapped in (almost too much) bubble wrap. 3) If you want a company to take responsibility for items they lost during the move, and to be sufficiently reimbursed/compensated, AVOID USING ACE. The movers who finally delivered my stuff couldn't find the foot-end piece of my bed (obviously rendering the entire bed useless). The mover (Ramunes) said he would try to find it and call me, but after calling him repeatedly for a few days after the move with no response, I filed a damage/loss claim with Robert and never received the measly $100 they offered for the damage (which was well over $1000). In other words, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Sure, they might be a lower cost alternative, but you definitely get what you pay for. ACE Moving & Storage FAILED TO SHOW UP FOR MY MOVE in March 2014. They didn't call, they didn't care - and one month later, they have yet to refund my $100 deposit. If you are going to use ACE Moving, you might want to request a deposit from THEM to ensure that they actually show up. I had scheduled my move a week before, and I was charged $100 as a deposit. Our move was scheduled for 1pm on the last day of the month, so when we hadn't heard anything by 2, we gave them a call...only to be told that they had shown up to a larger first job than expected and now wouldn't be able to move us that day. The earliest rescheduling option that I was offered was 8am THE NEXT DAY. Only when I asked was I offered a $5/hour discount for our trouble. That certainly did not cover the day of pro-rated rent + extra day off work that moving the the next day would have required. We were very lucky to find another mover at the last minute that day, for less than what we were expecting to pay ACE. The woman in the ACE Moving office commented that the new movers must be "desperate" to work same day, along with calling herself "nice" for being honest about the reschedule (once we called, rather than stringing us along for the rest of the day?). I had used ACE Moving once before, and they were okay last time...aside from the $100 travel cost to move 8 blocks, and the parking ticket that they tried to make me pay in cash. To be treated this way as a returning customer is even worse - I was standing on the curb with everything I own in boxes, waiting for movers who DIDN"T SHOW UP, and ACE Moving couldn't have cared less. I have never been so disappointed with a company and its services. It has actually cost me time and money NOT to work with them! I have filed a BBB complaint against them for my un-returned deposit. ACE Moving & Storage is seriously THE WORST moving company ever. All the horror stories you hear about moving companies happen right here. We moved from Manhattan to the West Coast. The packers in NY were deceptively nice but requested the tip upfront and said that they would share it with the guys on the West Coast who deliver our stuff - I highly doubt they did; ACE contracts out the delivery so when you ask them where your stuff is after waiting weeks upon weeks, they tell you they have no idea. Great, aren't you the moving company and shouldn't you know this basic piece of information? Now, on actually getting your things, this is where the nightmare begins. They tell you they're going to come on a certain day - nope, delayed, you wasted your entire day waiting on them. They tell you they're going to come another day within a 4-hour window - nope, they arrived hours later, another day wasted. They try to gouge you on money every step of the way. For example, they said they might need to transfer our things to a smaller truck which we would have to pay an extra few hundred dollars for and which would delay our things even more because our street may be too narrow. Our street was not too narrow. Once the delivery guys were finally here, they complained that our apartment was too far away from the garage, so they literally took out a measuring tape and measured the feet from the door of their truck to our front door and charged us another few hundred dollars for the "long" carry. Oh, and if you don't have an elevator, they will complain about that and charge you for it too. SO, after that entire weeks-long ordeal, we FINALLY got our things, and things are broken. The delivery guys actually unpack your furniture for you so they see it's broken firsthand (notice their blue blankets that were used to wrap our furniture in my pictures - they take back the blankets after they unpack your furniture). The delivery guys told us to contact ACE about getting reimbursed, so we did, ACE sent us a long complicated form, which we filled out, followed up with them, multiple times, and then... radio silence. These guys are crooks. They take your money but refuse to take responsibility for the damages they do, even though the contract states that your things are insured and you will get reimbursed. After they picked up my packaged heavy items in Queens, New York to take my new location in Los Angeles, California, I read such horror stories about them on Yelp. I thought to myself that I think I made a very serious mistake. Well, the price was right, my heavy boxes made it OK, and the crew was friendly. Even Lou (head office) was a pleasant man to work with and speak with. They may not always seem professional, but they get the job done. No one forced me to tip, or even ask for one, and no one threatened me if I didn't tip (some reviews wrote that). I gave them a generous one because I wanted to (10 percent). I had many boxes that contained extremely heavy books. It took longer than promised (told me 6 days, but got it to me in 11). If you don't want to break the bank, and moving a far distance (I moved cross country) - consider using ACE. read more

Instead of going on a emotional rant, which people may misconstrue as me being reflexive and vengeful, I thought it better to share my last email to ACE. This was before they delivered my stuff, 7 days late, 30% over the estimated price and having arrived at 4PM instead of the promised 9AM delivery time. Can you imagine my surprise when my total bill came out to be 32.5% more than the price you PROMISED me? Lol. After getting totally !@##!! on the bull s*it estimate you gave me, I thought "we'll at least they'll have my stuff to me on time. There's no way Ronnie would've lied about the price AND delivery capabilities of Ace. Boy was I wrong. Not only don't I have my stuff yet, but after calling you yesterday, just to confirm that my stuff would get here today (5 days later than scheduled), you told me (incorrectly yet again) that my stuff would be here today causing me to take the day off of work and loosing even more money (not great since I'm already down $1400 more than I was expecting to pay for your services). No worries though. It's fun sleeping in an empty house with kids and an infant for an entire week. Don't feel a need to get competent at your craft (estimating moving expenses). This is a borderline criminal organization running a well-honed scam. I will be reporting this to the NY Attorney General's office - these guys should be shut down. They showed up to my place and offered an estimated quote of $3,700 for a cross country move. The actual rate would be determined by my cubic footage, which they estimated as 630 cubic feet (two very seasoned guys, in my apartment for 30 minutes looking at everything).They also offered to lock in the rate at $4,500 - since two of the senior sales guys were in my apartment taking an inventory of my stuff, I declined to lock in the rate (why pay the extra $800, right?) The movers (not the same as the estimators) showed up the morning of the 30th. I asked to confirm the $3,700 estimate. They then said "no, this is going to be more than that, we can lock in $5,200". Because I had signed the paperwork with two senior guys who seemed to be a part of the company management, I told the mover that I would work it out with the guys I had signed with, but that I wasn't paying $5,200. They put me on the phone with a guy named Eli who I would later find out runs the scam (owns the company). After they packed my things they called and said it was actually 1,300 cubic feet and would cost $7,800. I was furious. The owner threatened to take my stuff to auction if I didn't pay immediately. After a week of back and forth they came down to $6,000. They threatened to charge me $150 per day for storage, and they threatened to give all of my things to the eviction company so I could deal with them. I refused to talk to the owner for most of the week and only talked to Frank or Benny, who both played "good cop" - they actually told me all of Eli's threats were not legitimate. Eventually I was in San Francisco for two weeks without any of my stuff and with my 8 month pregnant wife. Eli continued to call me and threaten me. We felt we had no choice but to agree to the $6,000 and they made us sign a paper that we would not charge it back to Amex. My mistake...classic moving scam. These guys are low-rent criminals. i had scheduled a move with ace from nyc to california and from the minute i gave my deposit, i felt like something was really not right. when i looked online (at yelp and other sites), almost all the reviews raved about the company and how "awesome!!!!" the move was without any real descriptions about anything else. thinking that was weird, i clicked on all the account names (there used to be about 15) and they had been created only to write good reviews for moving companies like ace (i've since told ace they were fake - to their "shock!", and they've since been taken down). i then contacted a reference ace gave me. the only one they could provide was someone who moved two years ago to seattle. she gave a fine enough reference. but when i went back to her to ask if she was charged by weight or cubic square footage, she said that moving interstate via weighted cost (which is the only legal way) sounded "risky.' i now think that the reference they gave me was working for them too. what a weird thing to say... i emailed the woman below on yelp who had a bad experience and she emailed me saying to get a copy of the contract in advance so i can read everything over. cool. so i go into the store and i was told i can't get a copy, they don't have one. it's only "in the trucks which will be at your house on the day of the move." i make a bit of a stink about it, and eventually i was told that in a few days one can be made available to me. of course, i was told i could read it after i told the "reference" they provided how weird it was they wouldn't show me a copy of the contract. it was when i heard through multiple people that movers are known to deliver your stuff and then ask for double the money that i said no way to this company. i backed out before i moved. i had a bad feeling from the get-go and i didn't want to get scammed in order to get my stuff. while my experience never allowed them to actually move my stuff, i didn't want the headache or stress of dealing with such a company. contracts should be made available to you as soon as you give them money, if not before to review. period. also, look online: moving between states must be calculated by weight, not space. so if they give you a price if you're going across state lines, it's probably bs unless they weigh all your stuff before hand. pay a few extra bucks and go with someone more reputable is my advice. read more

ZERO STARS. It has taken me 2 years to even think of writing a review for this company because I am honestly still afraid of them. They are scam artists. Once they had my stuff in their posession, they wouldn't give it back unless I signed a new contract (written in poor English) that said I would (A) never contact the BBB about them and (B) "never dispute any credit card charges" that they might make to my account, in the past, present, or future. Obviously I wouldn't sign it, so they wouldn't deliver my furniture. After a few dramatic phone calls with a screaming mover, I finally had 2 lawyers contact them to make them move my stuff (which had been sitting in storage for 3 weeks). When it "arrived," things went from bad to worse. They showed up... with the new contract. The mover said he would not unload my stuff until I signed it. I said no, of course, and the mover actually said, "then you will never see your stuff again" and RAN out of my apartment. Like a Bond villain! We called the police, and my sweet elderly mom stood in front of the truck on our street so it couldn't get away. Thankfully the police came, sorted it out, and made them deliver what was left of my broken furniture. The mover called me for weeks afterwards, reminding me that he knew where I lived and "had an extra piece of furniture for me." I finally moved apartments because I was afraid that they knew where I lived and how to get into the building. No joke. It's a long and horrific story and I absolutely, positively think these people are crooks. Do not go with Ace. They made my move a disturbing and unpleasant experience! THE QUOTE IS A TRICK TO LURE YOU IN! THEY WILL THEN CHARGE YOU OVER 2X ORIGINAL QUOTE. I am usually very vigilant with checking the yelp reviews on companies before I use them. I was so overwhelmed with high quotes that I jumped at the $500 quote that Ace movers offered me. BIG MISTAKE. Not only were they 3 hours late for my move, the person on the phone was unapologetic and they then proceeded to charge me $1000 for the move including a ticket they got while offloading. I could not believe my ears when they began rattling off additional fees that had not been mentioned in the initial quote. The movers themselves were extremely unprofessional & inappropriate. Dealing with them left me feeling intimidated, and taken advantage of! In addition to all this, they did a shoddy job boxing my belongings(shards of broken glass in my boxes!) They didn't even move all the items I asked them to move. Moving is hard enough as it is, don't make it an even more upsetting experience by hiring Ace Movers. Despicable. read more

The rep Ronnie I worked with will lead you to believe that he is the owner of the company and that he will take good care of you. I had Ronnie come out to my residence to give me an estimate. Boy will you be in for shell shock if you think the quote he gives you is reality. Not till they get all your stuff on the truck will you get the true amount. My quote from Ronnie was $2350. After they loaded up the truck they smacked me with the amount of $3800. Now its on the truck; what do you do?! You now become a hostage to them. If you look at their website you will see they offer discounts. Not till I pointed that out to them would they apply it to the amount. I was given a window for delivery that turned out to be completely and blatantly false. He will tell you that his crew will work diligently.. Aaaa, but wait, he wont disclose to you that actually it's not his crew and that this crew that is making your delivery is subcontracted out and independent from the company. This now turns out to be a whole other issue. Now you will be passed onto a guy call Gary! You will be lucky to reach him on the phone after Ronnie gives you his number. It took 4 days before any contact with Gary to get any idea on when a delivery day would be. I had gotten excuses from traffic, to the truck broke down, and waiting on a full truck to make the trip, then the truck is full and many deliveries before you. 8 days later after the actual date of deliver,y they show up. The crew that work on this end of the job. OMG..! They were disinterested in the job they do. If you ever saw an episode of the 3 stooges well this would be an accurate description. Only it isn't funny because its your stuff they are handling. When you see the condition of the boxes you will be shocked on the condition they are in. I have taken many pictures to back up my statements and have no trouble showing anyone interested in what I'm speaking of. You would be amazed. This is only the boxes! If you have anything like floor lamps, decorations, or anything that is not covered or boxed, say goodbye to it because it will not be in any condition to use after you receive it. I could go on with more horrific treatment from the office, If anything I hope that this post will help you make an educated decision and save you from this companie's mistreatment and horrible service. Terrible moving experience, would not recommend to anyone -I book a month in advance pay a deposit and agree with the rep on a specific date, I end up getting a call a few days before and they ask to push it back a day. -Two days later I get a call from another person saying he needs to push back the time on the new day -Moving day and time comes and no one shows, I call 3 times and am assured "they are close". When all was said and done almost 3 hours late. -Took way too long to move stuff a short distance, clearly trying to get an extra hour out of the bill -Finally we get to the end and some items are MIA, only saving grace is I ask for a partial refund and got it. Ha, I'm glad this company has such bad reviews and yet they don't strive to improve, no basic common sense!? But who am I to judge anyway... oh wait I am the customer, I got the right to do so! I walked by and notice they sell boxes for moving and since I am moving at the moment, I figured I pop in and ask the basic questions and pick up some boxes. As soon as I walked in, there was an older lady (sorry if I offend your age but F it you suck) sitting in the back doing some paper work, she glanced and ignored me. I looked around then tell her I am looking to move but today I need to bring home some boxes, what kind do you carry? She instantly got irritated and said "Up There!" ok so I ignore it and look up and notice the medium was not big enough and needed something slight larger. I then ask if they have a slightly larger one? She turns and sighs, "TURN AROUND!" with the worst attitude, cheeeese christ! she acted like I had a personal blue print to the place, wouldn't be needing her in the first place... Thats where it ended, I had enough and left. Moral of story, if you suffer from serious PMS or just found out your third husband has gone gay during the 80's and decided to fill you in now, then you probably shouldn't be working that day, at least wait till the heat-wave die down..just a bit. read more

Not just a bad moving experience, but one of the worst experiences of my life. The one star is for the lady who sold me a bill of goods, she is good at selling. That's the only thing good about this company. They ripped me off every way you can think of. First they're priced the estimate at almost double. My stuff did not grow so how could it be off by that much, but you have no choice at that point. Then they were 9 day's late (that's over 2 weeks to make delivery). Finally they sent the wrong size truck and i had to hire a man with a pickup truck or watch them wheel my stuff 1/4 mile in the rain on hand trucks. No need to tell you what 2 weeks on a truck and hours in the rain did to my stuff. read more

ZERO STARS. Please DO NOT USE THIS MOVER. To summarize, we were changed over 2.5 TIMES MORE than what was originally quoted for a delivery that showed up 5 DAYS LATE. If you'd like more detail about our awful experience: 1) We ended up having to pay more than 2.5 times the original quote that Fine/Ace moving had provided. We gave them a very accurate inventory of our belongings and as a warning they purposely underestimate sizes/volume to give you a lower quote and suck you in. 2) We explicitly asked if there will be any extra fees and they promised not. But they OUTSOURCE the move and as soon as you pay them, they suddenly have NO IDEA about anything-- where your stuff is at any point, extra fees, etc. They become SO UNHELPFUL after they have your money that they don't even try to get a hold of the movers for you when your stuff hasn't shown up on the delivery date. We were moving from New York City to Texas. After two weeks (longer than a move of this distance needs to take), we didn't hear from the movers the day before or day of the scheduled delivery date. We called the main number and grumpy front desk lady Beth gave us the number of the driver (instead of calling the driver for us). Of course the driver didn't pick up or return our messages. So day 2 of missing truck, we call Beth again who tells us to call the dispatcher (again, why are we the ones who have to call). We call him, Ronnie, who makes up a bunch of lame excuses about how our stuff will be 5 days late and they wouldn't comp us in any way. Finally on the fifth day after our stuff was supposed to show up (this is now almost three weeks after they picked up our stuff in nyc), sketchy movers show up at 10:30pm. And surprise surprise there are EXTRA FEES!! We argued that Fine/Ace promised no extra fees and they said they would not unload our belongings unless we paid them $150. Powerless and just wanting our stuff at that point, we paid them and waited while the sketchy movers unloaded our stuff until 1am on a Tuesday night. My move was scheduled in early August for the 28th of September at 9/10am with the help of Lou, who is a great pitch seller. He assured me that the quote given would be my price, not true as I found out later. The day before my move I received an email from Eli, owner, that my move is going to be delayed because of a broken down truck and they pushed it back to 11a/12noon. Not a big deal, until they didn't show up until 1:20p. After several calls to their office where I was threatened by Eli that he would cancel my move. I said that I can't believe you are the owner and you treat your customers like this. He didn't think what he said was wrong. I had no option but to wait. They finally arrived and before they started working we went over paperwork. The driver said they are paid by the hour. I let him know that is not what I was told and he argued with me that this is the way it is and he would leave if I didn't agree with that. I called to speak with Lou but he wasn't available and I spoke with another guy. He said yes it's by the hour. The bait and switch with this company is horrendous. Again I had no option but to sign. As soon as I signed the driver was rude and demanding that I pay him before a box comes off the truck when we reach our destination. I told him he has no right talking that way. We were forced to follow the moving truck for the 2.5 hour drive to make sure they didn't take my stuff as recommended by the last guy in the office I spoke to. Had we left earlier in the day as planned we would not have hit rush hour traffic in 2 major cities, Manhattan and Danbury along the way to upstate CT. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I was charged more that what was quoted in the end. At least they upheld the 5%discount off of the fuel charge by paying cash. So I saved 70$ there but not worth the stress, anger and disappointment I had to endure by completely unprofessional individuals. read more

Yes, our items got moved and the movers were on time and courteous. However, I cannot excuse the fact that we were given a quote and charged literally double. Tons of hidden fees like gas (we moved one mile away), and tape. They charged us for five rolls though two were used to prop the door and then left behind on the floor. I was livid. Then the foreman asked for a bigger tip when I gave twenty percent of the original quote. I would never use them again.
