Extremely difficult to communicate with. They have two locations, and no one answers the phone at either of them. All of our communications were via email and even then, it was a challenge. Worst of all, we were left waiting all day for a delivery that never came, only to find out late in the evening their driver had some kind of issue and couldn't complete our delivery for a party taking place the next afternoon. Of course, we were all on stand-by to do set up and had to reshuffle the rest of our errands to accommodate the new delivery time. The rentals themselves were fine, the driver was very nice and the pickup was timely. My biggest gripe was with their lack of response and communication. We've all forgotten things so I completely understood. I call at 12:00, 2 hours later and get her attitude as I'm already stressed out about getting our decor up! "Well our driver can't get there until 2:00-3:00." I get put on hold and she gets back on the phone to tell me they're working on a schedule and it's a busy season. That's not my problem. She says hold please. Now I'm on hold again! Wtf?! You have a half made up tent in my party space and can't finish my job?? Really?! This place is full of shit!!! I called about 4 days before Christmas Eve to rent 15 chairs and 1 table. Every other place I called charged more for delivery than the cost of rental items. I was glad when the lady I spoke with (Silvia, I believe) said I could pick them up free of charge. The same lady called the night before to confirm my order. She told me for the second time to pick up items by 4pm. I got there with nephews around 3:20. They were closed. WTF?!?! I was PISSED!! I don't give a damn if every other customer was serviced long before 4pm. Point is...I was told to come by 4pm and I did. If they felt they were ready to close early, I should've received another courtesy call. I called and left a voice message before driving off, to let them know there must have been a mix up or I was misinformed about the pick up time. Left my name and number. Have I received a call back yet? Hell no and today is the 29th! By the way, there was no point in calling the emergency number on the 24th because at that point, I didn't care to do business with them anyhow. Poor business ethics, waste of time, and thanks to them, my Christmas eve family gathering was almost screwed up. I've used APR twice for two different social events and am very pleased. The first time I used them for my daughter's first birthday party. Worked with Silvia that time, and went back and forth on the number of chairs, tables, pipe and drape and kept changing my mind but she was great at changing the invoice and updating me on pricing. They delivered a day before and picked up a day after the event. Great service. The most recent time I used them, the delivery team was from the North Hollywood store. We didn't receive any information regarding delivery times so that was a little frustrating but something to note for future renters. The equipment overall is decent. However, in terms of the tables.. you MUST have some kind of table cloth to cover them. They are not in good shape. Once you cover them they're fine. Unfortunately, I was hoping to use the wood to go along with my rustic theme but the tops of the tables were in such bad shape, I had to run out to Party City and buy butcher paper to cover them. I love that you can rent a PIPE and DRAPE which can be used as a makeshift photo booth or just as the backdrop for the main party table. Mention Facebook and Silvia will offer a 10% discount. There is a delivery fee and it depends on the location but I love that they service the LA area! read more

The very worst service ever!, do not go near this place! We ordered 60 chairs total and two of them to be wood. When I returned the chairs she had accused me of shorting her two chairs, said that there was only 58, she failed to understand that when you added the 2 wooden chairs it made it 60 chairs total DAHHHH!! Service was horrible, Carrie promised to call to follow up with the pending orders, but never followed through, I finally called a few days later, and she said that they've been busy, if they were true professionals, regardless of how small your order is, they would make the effort to call. True they are cheaper than other rental place, but that's because they charge you an arm and a leg for delivery, for crying out loud, $200 to deliver to San Pedro, please! Anyway, truly disappointed, thank god, I found TLAPAZOLA PARTY RENTALS, yes their prices are higher, but the quality and service is nothing compared to this place. I have rented chairs here the last 2 years for a Friendsgiving party I host. I like that the prices are posted online for everything, very reasonable. I always pick up what I'm renting so I can't speak to the delivery services. There is no parking lot but there is a driveway that you can back into to load your car. Walked in here to ask about renting some tables and chairs right away the lady in the front was hostile. Her first words to me were "what do you need" uhhh ok Hello anyway asked her about renting a few chairs and tables for an event and she just rolled her eyes and said let me check. Last week I had a small get together and the guy I usually use for tables and chairs flaked on me. I called about 2 hours before my party was set to start, and luckily they had tables and chairs available for me. We had to pick them up ourselves, but I think that was because it was so last minute. I didn't catch a name, but the girl who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. The ordering part was pleasant...everything after, not so much. Silvia was the point of contact and I placed the order with her-she seamed very nice and helpful. However, on the day of delivery, I received some of the ordered items and the bill that included $60 delivery fee that she never mentioned to me. I live 20 min away and have a SUV- could have picked it up. For five tables total I received 3 table clothes, although I obviously needed and ordered five. We also discussed the decorative cloths that are placed over the white ones and we agreed on gray, but those were not delivered at all (which wasn't a huge deal for me). Emergency service and girl named Kerry, I believe, stepped in the next morning and they delivered a missing cloth- the ones for the bar I purchased on the day they delivered, to make sure I was covered, not knowing about the Saturday emergency service. Three days after the party Silvia called to schedule a pick up and, in a friendly manner, I said that I was wondering when would they pick up the stuff. She responded in a nasty voice, "It is your responsibility to call and schedule the window for a pick up", which, of course, made me really furious thinking about all the things that were her responsibility and were not fulfilled: communicating final amount that will be charged on my card, mentioning the delivery charges and giving me a pick up option, ordering the right number of table clothes, ordering the decorative over clothes, and finally, being pleasant and apologetic about her mistakes. After I gave her the list of all the things she didn't do, she said she will check the order and call me. Guess what- did not happen. Although the condition of chairs, emergency service and delivery guys were great, dealing with people like Silvia, who didn't miss a chance to tell me how she has been doing this for 20 years, makes me want to pull my hair out of my head. I did have a rather last minute order, BUT they let me know how much of an inconvenience it was, when there was a problem with the order did not return any phone calls. The delivery guys were great, Sylvia was quite rude when I asked about price matching shortly before the event, and I was scolded! Seriously? Well, I doing an event for a non-profit-- it's my job to watch every penny. I called the "emergency number" about 12 times with a question-- never returned my calls. It is easy to perform when it is an easy rental, but when it is not, the true customer service ethic is evident. If I could give zero stars I would. The lady who helped me was named Silvia. I used them twice before and had a great experience the first time (under different ownership). The second time Silvia was nice at the beginning but rude by the end of my experience. Be prepared to be on hold for a long time. I don't know why I even considered them a third time (my fault for not taking the time to research other rental companies) but basically Silvia ruined that option. She is rude and very willing to ruin a party by not renting to you if you tell her how poor her service is. That's what I did and I'm so glad I won't be using them. I had totally forgotten to order tablecloths for my high school reunion. I thought I'd have to buy a couple but checked Yelp for a local business. From the initial conversation on the phone to the time I dropped off the tablecloths, the friendliness and great customer service at Ace Party Rents was fantastic. If there was a 0 star option, this company would have earned it. Stay away! They are the worst rental company I have ever worked with. Not only did they screw up delivery (our event was 15 minutes from their office and it took their drivers 3 hours to get here) but the quality of the tents they brought were well below acceptable standards. To make matters worse, when I called to request a partial refund, they told me they had brand new tents and didn't know why the drivers didn't take those...hmmmmmm, sounds like horrible management and internal communication! Our coordinator (Frank) agreed that a partial refund would be the right thing to do and said he would speak with the owners to get it processed. It's been almost two months and I am still waiting for the check. When I call to follow up, he ignores my call. The one time I finally reached him, he said "well, I'm kind of busy and I don't have any control on whether they actually send the checks out. The owner is in and out and won't return your call either so you should just forget about it." Really? I'm sorry, but that is not how a company is supposed to treat potential repeat customers. We will NEVER use them again. They may be the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for...this is a shady operation and not worth it! read more
