Apparently have to "request" a shuttle to pick you up from the airport, had to call the general customer service line to connect to the location to request a shuttle. Took around 40 mins of back and forth on the phone to even get a shuttle to come take us to the location. Extremely slow service, a line of a few people took around 45 minutes to get through. On the return of our car we were sent back into the general line, there is no individual line for drop offs. Extremely long process to return the car, was almost late to our flight. I rented here for the 1st time and the last time !!!!!!!!!!'n. Was told full car insurance was $40 a day and told standard was $30 a day with a $1500 deductible for any accidents. I asked what is the $30 coverage for . Told it was for $1500 liability. I was to use my own insurance for coverage ,if I had my complete policy with me with the brake down of full coverage liability. I told them no one walk around with that . Was given a older car which shook when changing gears . I will never use the ACE rental again one of the worst experiences I have ever had renting a car . Terrible experience at this location, cannot recommend to anyone. Had a reservation and when I showed up I was told no cars were available. Read below for more details. I showed up to pick up my reserved rental car and was 3rd in line. Shortly after I arrived the two employees behind the desk disappeared for roughly 20 minutes before returning. Without addressing the customers in line they did a few things on the computer and left for another 15 minutes. By now there was a line of 10-15 people all wondering what was going on. After waiting they informed the customers there were no cars available and had a "tough luck" attitude offering no solutions. Terrible experience and customer service. I booked a rental because it was a bit cheaper than the others. From the onset, I regretted my decision, they were taking approximately 15 minutes per customer?? I found out why when it was my turn. The agents attempt confuse, defraud and upsell with a twist. They use fraud(agent told me I needed either to purchase full coverage through them, or my car insurance must have full coverage. FRAUD and I knew it.. When agent realized that I knew he was attempting to illegally defraud me, he changed his tune and not only processed my rental but also upgraded my vehicle from economy to a SUV. On checkout I realized they charged a few dollars more than my Expedia booking price.. Absolutely unbelievable This place is utterly dishonest and uses fraudulent practices that unfortunately work on many unassuming people! I will absolutely NEVER use this company again.. Worst car rental company ever. We rented a car recently at LaGuardia airport. When the car was bought to us it had an overly strong odor of air freshener. As the scent wore off we were hit with the putrid smell of cigarette smoke that did not dissipate the entire four days we used the car. We contracted for a compact car which turned out to be the most uncomfortable car we'd ever been in, it was more like a clown car. Great cars eventually once you get them. Long wait times, upselling at the counter when they don't have your vehicle , hidden fees throughout the contract ( concession fee, concession fee fee) and over all money grab. If traveling from out of state will try to guilt you into purchasing their insurance which goes as commission but most insurances are covered through either credit card or personal car insurance. Charged 3 times the amount of me original Expedia price and experienced a forced charge on a personal ticket without being notified while in dispute. Stick with reputable car rental dealerships in the area that provide accountability and aren't money grabs. read more

Complete lie. I was told that if I left a positive review that they would send me a discount code for 30 percent off. I would receive an email left a review to get the discount and they never sent me a link. When I contacted the company they said that they have no idea what I'm talking about and said they could honor a 10 percent discount. When I ask how is if applied they hung up the phone. Please BEWARE of these crooks and lairs. I reserved a car , online through priceline . so i went to pick the car up a LGA , when it was time to pay my deposit they charged my card 3 times $200 , adding up to $600, which they claimed declined, despite me showing them my credit card transaction. They did not allow me to book the car and refused to issue me a refund. Not to mention they let me leave the rental place with out my ID , so i couldn't check in my room, because when i called they weren't taking any calls , and when i went they were closed. so had to sleep in the airport. When i went the next day to obtain my license they still were still insisting that they didn't take any holds and it declined on their end. So because they have $600 of my credit held up and didn't issue a refund i was basically out of $1,000 , which may not be a lot to some people but it is to me. Long story short 2 weeks later and they still have not released the $600 which am disputing and the charges for the rental car which they don't want to honor . this place is a complete scam , please beware do not leave any cc info with this crooks read more

Giving one star only because It required to make a review . Stay clear of this rental agency. Over charged me by $200 saying it was for a " deposit " The credit card on file is usually used for deposit and not showing as total amount due. Never had any wording on paperwork stating it was deposit Also added on additional charges including a credit card "usage fee" even though they don't take any other form of payment . Kept telling me my I needed insurance even though my own policy plus credit card cover my insurance. He then asked me to provide proof of insurance! Since when do people travel with proof of car insurance? I rented a car last week from Alamo and they only asked me who my insurance was with. I told him I didn't have and he said then he will just add liability and it's an additional $100 Was too much shady business going on so I told them to cancel the transaction and he gave me back receipt only showing overpriced car ($45 over priced i was quoted on line ) and not the $200 overage he charged me for "deposit". Why did I have to sign for $485 but only show receipt cancelling $285 ? Rude and shady business. I contacted my credit card company immediately to report being overcharged . HORRIBLE experience. This company is a scam. When we were dropped off to rent our car there were 2 people at the counter and then one of them left to do other stuff so we had to wait a long time to get our car. Then they try to nickel and dime you. He car comes out and full of scratches, has cigarette burn on seat and not especially clean. They breaks needed new break pads and what should be a fuel efficient vehicle was a gas guzzler. Upon return of the car they tried to ding me for a scratch they state occurred while in my possession. They do take a video of the car before and after you take possession. But this area was not clear on the video when we got the car so you could not compare the before and after pictures. Trust me the car was full of scratches and was in poor shape. I had a gut feeling they were going to try and pull something like this. You can just sense it. Imagine planning a vacation months in advance to fly to Denver, rent a car and then drive down to New Mexico to visit and stay with family and see the sights along the way, just to walk into the place to pick up your car and see signs in the counter stating that you're not allowed to leave the state with the rental car. I make this trip twice a year and have never had this issue with another rental place. So then, you tell them to cancel your rental, and they refuse and tell you that you have to go back to Hotwire, whom you made the reservation through. You call Hotwire, and they tell you they can't do anything because Ace has already taken your money. So you're stuck not only paying for a rental car that you can't take for the week, but then you have to (after already traveling 2000 miles that day) hop back on a bus, go back to the airport, rent another car and go pick that up from a rental counter that isn't owned by crooks. Nowhere in my confirmation did it say the car couldn't leave the state. Nowhere on their website did it state that. The guy at the counter argued this even though I pulled up their terms and conditions and showed his it isn't stated. He just told me "it doesn't matter. That car isn't leaving the state". So now I'll be spending time that I shouldn't have to be spending to file a fraud claim with my credit card company, as well as with the State Attorney General.
