Almost a month ago I called just before a heat wave to report that my central AC was not working. They sent a tech the next day. After an hour's work he told me that he could not fix the AC because he did not have the necessary equipment. Huh? They sent a tech to fix the AC and didn't send him with the right equipment to fix an AC? Then he said he would "try to come back tomorrow" with the right equipment. Tomorrow came, and he didn't. So I called High Ground and was told that the appointment had been set up for a full week from that day. How did "tomorrow" turn into the end of next week? Anyway, the heat wave came and went and I did not have AC. A few techs finally showed up at the end of the next week with the equipment they said they needed and worked for an hour. Then they told me they would have to order a part and charged me a deposit of $900.00. The AC still didn't work without that part. Another heat wave came and went with no AC. I called again and asked if the ordered part had come in. I was told that the tech who worked on the AC was on vacation and would not be back until the following week. At that time they would review the account and find out what was going on with the part and the service to install it. What the... Why did he have to be present to find out what was going on with the part? Why didn't High Ground know whether or not the part came in and assign another tech while the first one was on vacation? By the time he returns, I will have gone without AC for over 3 weeks since I first reported the problem. Totally unacceptable. Do not do business with this incompetent outfit. They don't know what they're doing.

DON'T DO IT! Josh replaced our old furnace and air intake/exhaust pipes 4-5 years ago... well since…read morethere we have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS! He never pulled a permit! The city was after us to get the permit in and after months of begging, Josh finally submitted the permit; however, it took so long that the code changed and then he had to re-do the exhaust pipe with polypropylene so it turned into another whole project. I wouldn't just be complaining now years later, but since then, we've had numerous problems with our heat not working. We had two other HVAC companies tell us that the unit Josh installed is actually not sized correctly. It is too big for what we need, so the furnace kept overheating and shutting down. Another HVAC company turned down the gas pressure to help with this and that worked (hundreds of dollars later). The unit is also not positioned correctly, so water/condensation keeps getting into the heat exchange causing us to yet again be without heat right now (hence why I'm just writing this review now). The air intake and exhaust pipes are also poorly slanted according to what other HVAC companies are telling us (in addition to the pipes on the outside of the house not being far enough apart to not blow the exhaust in the intake). Now, after only 4-5 years, we need another new furnace that is the correct size for our house because we can't keep trying to patch things and not know if we are not going to have heat some days. So, we are now going to be out thousands of dollars because of this. Josh isn't a bad guy and was easy to talk to when he was responsive, but we feel taken advantage of. He also said in the end with all the stress we went through with the permit and the city that he would send a Home Depot gift card in the mail to compensate for everything....but we never never got it.

That it literally rotted even more. 45° Angle cuts where way off a lot of dap fill in. The vynal siding bubbled out in the middle of the front of the house. Had to tell them that a pc was sticking out from the house. Vynal siding still falling off that week and yrs later. Gutters do not have them install gutters. I had a pretty new metal roof. They dropped onto the metal roof on the attached shed. A hole in that. They used purple silicone on blue roof. Contract final payment when complete yet constant looking for more money when the job is incomplete. Gutters they installed had it running down the middle on to the three season porch roof. Instead originally drained down the back. They redid had made this funky hamster maze looking thing with a bunch of elbows. They my other gutters where custom made. That clogged right away with the leaf guards they installed. Guy came and said he saw nothing. They said well said I have to have it cleaned twice a year. Bunch elbows is where it was clogged. So first winter snow ripped off three leaf guards they screwed back in and repeated the following winter. Well I had utterly gutters come out. They said the leaf guards installed are not supposed to be used for metal roofs. MY HOUSE LITERALLY LEAKED IN MY HOUSE DURING A HEAVY RAIN STORM VERY SHORTLY AFTER. THERE GUY SAID TRIED TO TELL MY WIFE IT WAS A PLUMBING ISSUE. CALLED THEM OUT ON IT. SAYING NO CAPS ON TRIM. THAT IF THE HOUSE WAS PROPERLY TYVEK PROPERLY STILL SHOULDN'T LEAK INTO THE HOUSE. So far they have added a water line and drain for the washer, a new water line for the new fridge, a gas line for the new stove, and a slop sink in the basement, which required a pump. They showed up promptly, were courteous, professional, and when they were done, cleaned up not only what was there because of them, but vacuumed most of my basement. They will be coming back to update our master bath, just as soon as the supplier can get the parts. Come summer time, I'm sure they will be here to service my A/C, and come winter to service my heat. I called Eric and he scheduled the replacement at a reasonable cost. Wayne came on the day of appointment and drained old one. As they were working I realized condo had listed automatic shutoff valve. That was way expensive part and needed electric outlet which we didn't have. Wayne had to re-connect electric wires and refill the water heater and they had to leave. I complained to condo and they agreed that automatic valve was optional. Wayne came back next day and installed the water heater. They did not charge more for extra trip. Very professional work and honest people.
