Why was Doctor Jose Aceves practice permanently closed without giving his patient notice? My dad had a appointment to see Dr. Marlene F. Farronan yesterday, come to see the office where he has been a patient for many years was permanently closed with out giving him any kind of notice. That was a big surprise to him and now he is upset and worried. He tells me how can Doctor Jose Aceves's practice do this to his patients are they not suppose to care and help their patients. He said to me where do i go now who is going to help me with my illnesses. My dad has illnesses that need to be attended to. What is my dad suppose to do now? File a Complaint with the Medical Board? I tore my left ACL and went to Colima Care to get a MRI referral on 1/14/16. The whole appointment took about 5 minutes. I told the intake nurse that I tore my ACL and she looked at my ANKLE. Then the doctor comes in and stares at their laptop, asks a few questions and didnt even look at my knee (she submitted a x-ray referral for my RIGHT knee). I left with no paperwork (not even a receipt) and a promise to "submit a referral for an orthopedic surgeon". 11 days later, I'm still on crutches have STILL not seen a doctor. You know why? Because an orthopedic needs MRI before our appointment. That was the whole reason I went to Colima Care, to get a referral for an MRI. My first impression of Colima Care was that they are way too busy. It shows from their poor service and utter lack of urgency from their staff. They kept telling me to wait for referrals but have been sending in the wrong referrals, making me wait longer. I will avoid Colima Care any for medical care in the future. read more

Terrible "customer service". Office staff is unfriendly and some of them are flat out rude. I've been bringing a relative here for their appointments and it doesn't matter whether we are 20 minutes early or 5 minutes late. It's always a guaranteed minimum 45 min. wait in the lobby, then another long wait in the room. I hope this is the last time we have to come here. The building is old and smells as such. As far as the healthcare, it's ok. Definitely not state of the art technology. Have never been able to get in same day. The place is the Pitts. I asked a patient sitting behind me how long he's been waiting and he said an hour. He also said many relatives had stopped coming there because the place can't get their act together. Appointments mean nothing to the staff and I presume the same goes for the doctors. I've never been seen at the appointment time given. There's never a valid explanation, ie "rooms are full". What?! Double check referrals (orthopedics, internist, etc. ) as mistakes are often made, delaying treatment. Time to look for a new provider! If you're considering going to Colima Care, think twice or be prepared to be "greeted" by rude receptionists and WAIT A LONG TIME, regardless of appointment given! read more

Dr. Cons and PA Connie are the best. I haven't had the opportunity to consult with Dr. Aceves himself but I appreciate him always signing my paperwork when needed. I've been a patient since 2008 and I have always been able to get a same day appointment. PA Connie assisted with an appeal from my job trying to terminate me because I was out on disability. Great care, medication was prescribed when needed. I don't mind being on hold, front desk nurse Janet has always been polite and goes above and beyond when I need something over the phone. I am saddened to see some of the harsh criticism on Colima Care. This clinic works hard to provide quality care to all of its patients. They are a community clinic through and through, and physicians like Dr. Aceves work themselves into the ground for their patients. Often times, the nature of a community clinic may lend itself to slightly longer wait times or even misunderstandings, but the staff shows up day in and day out to do what is best for their patients. I would not hesitate to refer this clinic to others. read more

1 is giving them too many stars! It never fails you have an appointment and you are not seen for 2 hours after your appointment. Why have appointments. Someone really needs to figure out how to run a clinic and the clinic flow. It's simple DON'T OVER BOOK IDIOTS!!! .. it no fun having a -0 month old be patient for more than 2 hrs. THE WORST EVER!!!! #1 Not only are the waits ridiculous, but they do absolutely nothing. NOTHING. My mom was diagnosed with a highly contagious blood virus that she was hospitalized for. I was sent there to take a blood test just in case, not only did I have to wait 2 hours to take a 5 min blood test, but they sent me on my way without even attempting to follow up. A week later I called in for my results only to hear that they "Couldn't seem to find them in my folder." Called back the next day only to be asked "Are you sure you took your test with us?" Took time off work to come in in person and waited almost two hours for them to find it. Only to tell me everything was okay. #2 Had a pain in my appendix area and went in for an examination. Charged me $35 to the nurse to "examine me" then write me a referral to another DOCTOR not even SPECIALIST, to where the new doctor wrote me a referral for an ultrasound and blood test. #3 Called in to try and make an appointment ASAP because I have been having random and dull chest pains that I want to get checked out. Nothing available for the next two weeks......Dr Connie is great, but honestly, THIS DOCTORS OFFICE IS TERRIBLE!!!!!! read more

I have never seen such an unprofessional front office. The girls are rude on the phones and leave you on hold for extremely long periods of time. I thought that was the worst of it until today... Four weeks ago, Dr. Connie had the front office do a referral for a specialist as I have a mass in my uterus and they have to do a biopsy. A week later I called to see if the referral came through and the girl never sent it. Grrr.. So she gets me into the specialist and today was the appointment after three weeks. I took time off of work to go and after sitting there for an hour we find that she never sent my films or file to the specialist surgeon. I am beyond upset. Dr. M was super pissed at the front office of Dr. Aceves and is going to call in the morning to yell at them. They wasted his time and mine. I also had a blood test a few weeks ago, nothing from them at all. No calls, no letters saying I should make an appt. Maybe they thought I already died. shrug... Long ago I used to take care of an elderly person and she went through the same thing and died from the Dr. office neglecting her (different office) but I fear the same will happen to me if they don't get it together. If you care about your health, don't go to this office. I'm finding a new Primary Care Physician. UPDATE: I went to Dr Acevedes office yesterday as I have strep throat and didn't have time to change doctors. I am happy to report that the front office staff is attentive and polite now and I had a minimal of waiting time. Just changed my doctor! This place is outrageous! I was running 15 minutes late and the Dr could not wait for me, yet everytime I make an appointment i sit waiting around for at least 2 hrs!!!! Very upsetting that they expect sick people to wait and then they cant be considerate enough to wait. The front office staff sucks and they overbook and could care less about the patients. i love Dr connie and thats the only reason I go back, but this was the last straw. Who said going to the doctor was something fun to do? Well, I do. I like going to see my doctor, not only because he is very knowledgeable but because a soon as I get to his office I feel as if I am with my family. I have been Dr Aceves patient for sevarl years, and I wouldn't change him for anybody else. The service at the front and back office is very friendly. I usually don't write to much reviews but I had to in this case. My primary care physician Is Dr Robert Cons and yesterday when I had a concerns about my health. Dr cons was there to assess the concerns I had. I honestly recommend him because He's not like other doctors he genuinely cares and thank God for doctors like this and also with my experience as soon as I entered the room I had assistance from Carmen and she has the best attitude I felt comfortable instantly. I also got blood taken out and usually I'm afraid of needles but Carmen had such a light hand I barely felt it. Definitely recommend!! read more

I recently called in for an appointment for my aunt who had been diagnosed with a appendices problem at another clinic, where they wanted to take out her appendices. Thankfully, I reached out to Dr. Aceves clinic. Needless to say my aunt is an elderly woman over 80yrs old and any type of surgery would put her at risk. Well, they gave her an appointment and was seen promptly, the wait was less than 15 min. She was given a referral and results stated her appendices was great and she had kidney stone (small) and she was able to avoid a needless surgery. I came in to see a doctor about an allergic reaction for my grandfather. Since I had been here before and seen this rash on his skin before we called Dr. Aceves office we arrived at 10:36am and where not seated until 12:05pm once we where givin a room and the nurse asked about his visit I had reiterated that we had been he before and had just needed a shot of Benadryl for his skin hives after checking his vitals the nurse sais the doctor will be with you shortly. Now still waiting to be seen at 12:50 pm I come to find out the whole office staff has taken a hour lunch break I find this to be very unprofessional to have someone waiting for such a great deal of time with out notice let alone someone who is obviously uncomfortable . read more

Where can I begin? I have been coming here for about a year and I can truly say the front office steals the show. Even if they are swamped with patients and files, they never forget to smile and make me feel taken care of. All these negative reviews tend to forget how difficult it is to run a medical office, I cannot recall a medical institution where you are not required to wait to be seen. I guess unless you are the president of the United States. There is no wait. I have no issue in recommending anyone to Colima Care as a medical provider, the great doctors and staff make this place worth coming to.
