This review is not for the doctor but for the multiple communications with his support team. A…read moredoctor may think this unfair but when your care team is sub par it does reflect negatively on the doctor. Sometimes unknown to them and sometimes because they do not care. I am not sure where it falls in here. I have phoned at least four times in the last few years. I had an acoustic tumor that grew aggressively (not a norm for this type of tumor) into the brain stem. I wanted to get another opinion because I have had 'inconclusive' on the final reads (whether there was additional growth) and I wanted to make sure I did not get into another life-threatening situation (my first surgery was emergency with a 2% chance of survival which I thankfully survived). I would get sent to the voice mail of his nurse at which time I would get a follow up weeks later. Cut to now a few years since I phoned and got the 'inconclusive' read on my last MRI (with and without contrast) but now with a possible sign of growth so, again, I phoned Dr. Kellys' office only to be told he does not deal with Schwannomas. I was never informed of this in prior communications with the office (which is odd). I always stated what type of tumor I had and reports and scans were sent. Then his nurse said she was forwarding my information to another doctor that deals with the aforementioned type of tumor. I never heard from them. Then, maybe three months later (or more) I got a call from someone that did not say their name (just stated Pacific Neurosurgery) and called from a private number. Just to reiterate, this is now 1/3 of a year later. Buyer beware.

When I called his office to make an appointment(sometime last week), one of their office staff gave me an afternoon appointment--right away. At 1pm. When I used to see him for severe headaches that I had back in 2010-2012, he recommended me couple of medications--which worked. Massage and physical therapy. I followed his orders and with time, I started feeling much, much better! He also gave me couple of referrals to see other specialists. Going back to my recent visit, my issue was having tingles in my fingers and toes.He examined them and told me not to worry about it, it's stress related and for me to take it easy and get more rest and exercise. Even though it hurts and makes me feel uncomfortable. Dr. Buxton and his staff are super great, pleasant, helpful and very professional. If you encounter any one of those problems, don't hesitate to reach out to this wonderful, caring, supportive office. Place is clean, and so are the restrooms. Parking is available, but I found parking on the street. They accept insurance, and most major credit cards...If I could give him 20 stars, I would. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!! I really don't know what those few negative, bad reviews are all about?? Thank you Dr. Buxton, and office staff. He is the doctor of the doctors!

You get his undivided attention and his response time through the My Chart app is outstanding. I am a high maintenance patient but I never feel like I'm annoying him or taking up too much of his time. He has given me many excellent referrals too. The entire experience from front desk to the back desk there is nothing short of extraordinary. I have a lot of specialists now that I'm older and the other doctors within the practice are all outstanding. He has set the bar so high that it's almost a miracle when I find a doctor that comes close to the care I received from Dr. Buxton. He is a doctor's doctor!

I came to Dr. Porter on the recommendation of a physician who sends all his neurological patients to her. A second recommendation came from a friend who has been a dedicated patient of Dr. Porter's for 20 years. They were right to praise her. The initial interview was thorough, relaxed and insightful. Doctor Porter has a comfortable manner and put my wife and me at ease as we discussed the steps involved . At the end of the interview, she suggested detailed actions to establish the baseline and gave me a list of neurological specialists to help her develop a comprehensive understanding of my neurological self. After being screened (with appropriate tests) by each of the specialists, I returned for a review with Dr. Porter. She placed their contributions in perspective and balanced them with the results of her own tests. And, again, her "bedside manner" was warm, engaging and thorough. My wife and I began the adventure with questions and Dr. Porter addressed all of them. We came away ready to take the steps she recommended, including committing even more deeply to the MIND diet. I highly recommend her. She'll take good care of you.
