The before the surgery and after surgery

Since day one him and his staff treated me like I'm a human being and the treatment is top notch care him and his office is very nice he had to fix my right knee and I have no complaints on his part I'm very happy with him and his office I give them on care

No one likes breaking bones but sometimes let's face it, shit happens. So when I crashed a mountain bike, breaking my collarbone into multiple pieces, severing some muscles along with it for good measure, I needed medical assistance ASAP. I really didn't have time to shop around for a surgeon. This wasn't a nose job, this was my shoulder snapped in half, bulging out of my back. Not exactly time for a second opinion, just cross my fingers that the on-call knew what he was doing... Enter Dr Nissanoff. Within minutes I could tell I was in good hands. There was no doubt in his voice, his plans were matter of fact as he told me what was going to happen, no hesitation. He'd apparently done this surgery a number of times and actually specialized in shoulder and clavicle injuries. Other surgeons in that hospital ask him to operate on them when needed, so if someone was going to cut me open it might as well be the man that other professionals trust the most. It's now just shy of a month after the surgery and I feel far better than I thought possible. I figured my summer was screwed, anticipating months of slings and pain. Little did I know I'd be in physical therapy by week three, back to about 95% range of motion by week four, and only a little stiffness/soreness here and there. I have a plate and nine screws holding all the pieces of my collarbone together but beyond that I feel exceptional, my chest and back muscles were reattached with very skilled hands. Time and time again I hear encouraging words, "Wow, your surgeon really stitched that well, you'll barely have a scar!" Lately it's been. "How are you practically back to normal in four weeks?" Yesterday it was "They had you lifting *weights* in physical therapy? Already??" I'd like to bullshit and pretend I have super healing powers, that I'm just magically about four weeks ahead of schedule in physical therapy, but I'm not going to steal the credit here. My trust in Dr Nissanoff was obviously well founded, and for that I thank him. If someone is granted the time to shop around for a surgeon, I'd recommend him without hesitation. What I would NOT recommend is crashing a mountain bike on a trail of rocks at about 25 miles per hour, especially if you have to hike a mile and a half out to the road in shitty cycling shoes afterwards. Hey, at least I'm back in one piece. Thanks to the doc of course.

He was very forthright, knowledgeable and welcoming and encouraged me that I can always reach out to him personally should I have any questions or concerns. Dr. Millstein really cares about his patients. It is evident from the second you meet him that he really is there to help you and not push for surgery unless it's needed. It is not often that I meet a doctor who is not only skilled in his expertise, but also a very genuine and caring person. Dr. Millstein definitely fits the bill! P.S. Dr. Millstein recently moved his practice to a beautiful and stylishly designed office in Santa Monica with breathtaking views. Honestly, it was one of the most gorgeous medical offices I've ever seen!

I was close to giving up and accepting that my shoulder might never feel normal again. Then I started working with Michael. From the beginning, he had an excellent bedside manner, really listened, and approached the process with a "never quit" attitude. He was patient, thoughtful, and consistent, and he adjusted the work as I progressed instead of just giving me a generic routine. That made a huge difference. What stood out most was that Michael genuinely cared about getting me back to normal. He pushed when I needed it, explained what we were doing, and helped me stay committed even when progress felt slow. I don't think I would have recovered the way I did without him. I'll honestly miss working with him. Great therapist, great person, and a great experience overall. I even uploaded my MRI results and sought every resource I could find. David Fabrizio consistently stood out as someone with the expertise and reputation to help me get back to where I wanted to be. After doing even more research, I chose him--and I'm incredibly grateful that I did. From the very first session, David made a significant difference. Not only did my pain improve, but I was able to lift my arm in ways I couldn't before. The improvement was immediate and gave me hope when I needed it most. What truly sets David apart is the combination of his exceptional clinical skills and genuine care for his patients. He is warm, compassionate, highly professional, and deeply invested in your recovery. The day after my first appointment, he personally followed up to see how I was doing. That simple gesture confirmed what I had already sensed--he genuinely cares. I initially came to David for my shoulder, but he gave me something much greater: hope. For the first time in 10-12 years, after dealing with sciatica, multiple surgeries, and countless setbacks, I can honestly see a path toward getting back to my best self again. David has a rare ability to balance kindness, humor, encouragement, and accountability. He knows when to support you and when to give you the tough love needed to stay committed to your recovery. His positive energy motivates you to keep pushing forward, even on the difficult days. I cannot recommend David highly enough. Thank you, David, not only for your expertise but for the person you are. It's easy to understand why some of your patients have stayed with you for 30 years. I'm someone who's hypermobile and I have a lot of various issues with my body, including an old shoulder injury that I had surgery on. All of that had compounded into my dislocating a rib, which is how I found myself at the office. I have been through over a dozen clinics and therapists and chiropractors in my life and can genuinely say that this has been one of the best experiences and it's genuinely giving me hope that I will be able to not have to constantly live in discomfort. Dr. Ash listens intently to everything that you have to say and he's not afraid to allow your input to guide what he does. You spend a significant amount of time in his office for appointments doing a variety of things to help address whatever your issue is. For me it's an array of manual adjustment, stretching, and compression therapy. I'd after my first session with Dr. ashes relatively new physical therapist , I am excited to continue going. He spends significant one on one time with you and really make sure that you're actually understanding and gaining the benefits of the exercises - not just putting you through the motions. I can't count the number of times I found a great physical therapist, but then was passed off to doing the actual exercises with an intern. That's not the case here. 10/10 recommend and will keep coming back and genuinely can't believe I found somewhere that might actually be able to help genuinely fix my body. Only other call out is make sure you read the parking signs because there's only street parking available and I wouldn't recommend parking in the one hour meter slots unless you're sure that your appointment will be less than that time. If you're willing to go 3 to 4 blocks away from the office, you'll find easy 2 hour free parking and honestly, you should walk around after your appointment anyways to help everything settle in.

The Dr. came into the consult room two hours later at 12 noon. In the interim, several PAs took information from me, one repeating the other. The last one began palpating my knee and then kept her finger pressed firmly on the painful area until I asked her to remove it. She said I would be a candidate for a partial knee replacement. She also noted - in a surgeon's office for possible surgery - I might be living now with a "sore knee". Seriously? When he finally showed up, no introduction, no apology for a 2 hour wait, he began orating at me. When I attempted to ask reasonable questions, I was met with dismissiveness. But he had made sure to wear a clinical coat with his name and HARVARD prominently embroidered on the breast, just in case anyone asked. He contradicted the information I had received from 3 previous orthopedists, practically sniffing at the absurdity of my questions about what I had been told. And contradicting his own assistant, announced that I needed a full knee replacement, but I could live with it for now. Bye Keck. The good news is I had an appt. with another surgeon today, and it was like night and day. He listened, he explained clearly, took me seriously, spoke in depth. More on this Dr. next time.
