It's the night before the party and Cosmic Chris texts me at 10pm to go over details??? WHAT?!?! I'm in bed after 3 long days of cleaning and prepping for said party!! The texts got pretty ugly with Cosmic Chris dictating to me what time he'd be AT MY HOME instead of what time I paid him to show up. I'm beyond furious and now don't know if this company will even show up, what type of attitude I'll have to deal with or how my granddaughter will be treated. I've already reached out to the lady I booked with...so hoping this won't be an issue...but I'm just flabbergasted at how this even got here with Cosmic Chris!!!

The booking process was seamless, I filled out the online form and had a confirmation within 1-2 days. Our Mad Scientist, Jordan (Plazma Petey), contacted me the day before to nail down the final logistics, which really put my mind at ease. On the day of the party, he arrived 30 minutes early to set up and was ready to go right on time. I have never seen a group of 1st grade boys so captivated! Jordan was high energy, charismatic, and had them laughing, shouting out answers, and asking great questions the entire time. Even the parents were leaning in and enjoying the show. To top it off, the kids got to make magic dough to take home. I had so many parents ask where I found them because they were so impressed. Highly recommend Mad Science and specifically Jordan!

My kids LOVE Steve & Kate's camp in Fremont. Seriously, it's what every parent dreams a summer camp…read morewill be like until you try some other camps. Steve & Kate's is open long hours, which is perfect for us busy parents. They offer such a huge variety of activities, and they even provide lunch--so no more packing lunches every morning! This is the third year my boys, ages 6 and 8, have attended summer camp here. They absolutely love seeing some of the same camp counselors each year. Even though they've been to other camps together like art camp, several sports camps, and exclusive club camps, Steve & Kate's is the one camp they ask to go back to every year. We also really appreciate that they aren't separated by age. At other camps, even a small age difference would mean they couldn't be together, but here, they get to hang out and play together all day. My athletic son is obsessed with playing gaga ball--something he's only found at Steve & Kate's. He also loves playing basketball, table tennis, and foosball there. My other son, who's super into art, learned how to sew at camp. He made a bunch of cool stuff and loved it so much that we even pulled out our sewing machine at home to work on projects together. What's awesome is the free play aspect--my kids love that there isn't a set schedule, so they can do whatever they want. They also really enjoy going outside and playing. The staff is fantastic, always making sure the kids are having fun and are well taken care of. The director, Joshua, is so fabulous. It's obvious that he really enjoys his job and helps the kids have a fun and memorable summer. I've seen my kids grow in confidence and make so many friends. And we can't forget about the last day of camp--it's a HUGE carnival! My kids raved about it well into the school year. My youngest was so inspired by the different games and prizes that he ended up having a carnival-themed birthday party and made his own carnival games. Another great thing about Steve & Kate's is the flexibility. You don't need to book the camp months ahead of time--you can just sign up the night before and you're good to go. Plus, you don't need to commit to the entire week, which is perfect if you just want to send the kids for a couple of days during the week. I tell all parents about Steve & Kate's and how amazing it is. Also, if your company offers Bright Horizons, definitely take advantage of it--it's such a great combo with this camp. Highly recommend!

They always provide many various choices of games and activities for the little kids, while barely any options are there for the older ones. For instance: Everything is always divided by age groups, therefore older kids get less opportunities to do the activities they want to pursue. The staff prefer younger children, and barely try to focus any of their attention on the older kids, which gives the preteens less of a chance to participate in any activities that should be included for kids of all ages. They also tend to let out younger kids first for kick-off and lunch, while leaving the older kids to stay in the gym, or stay hungry. For lunch release, they have a separate lunchtime for the younger campers, while having the older ones wait over thirty minutes to get their lunch. An example of this happened with my kid: a counselor ignored her requests for lunch, [despite them dropping things immediately if a younger camper was hungry] getting upset with her when she and other kids continued to ask politely for food out of hunger (she skipped breakfast and forgot to pack a lunch), they wouldn't let her into the main lunchroom to check her backpack for possible snacks because it was the younger kids' lunchtime. To add on: The staff give everyone the same, small amounts of food, even if some campers are hungry and need to be treated with equity, they do not do so, as they only allow small portions of food for older kids if they want seconds, while younger ones get bigger amounts. All because the older kids don't need it "as much as the younger kids do." Secondly: Everything is always divided by age groups, therefore older kids get less opportunities to do the activities they want to pursue. The staff prefer younger children, and barely try to focus any of their attention on the older kids, which gives the preteens less of a chance to participate in any activities that should be included for kids of all ages. Even though they may claim to have certain events for the older kids [as they do for the younger kids as well] in the camp, in actuality, the camp does lack them. To conclude: This camp really needs to manage everything better as well as caring more about the older kids, treating them with equal respect, and being equitable when it comes to their needs.

I booked a Tuesday evening class during winter break. You get a confirmation email and that's it. I was worried about prep but they prepare everything for you and thought up everything as well. Small parking lot. They had us wash our hands when we arrived and then each kiddo had a color sheet with crayons. Nice touch but defeats the purpose of washing our hands first. The two of us shared a table with another mom with their toddler. Each toddler had their own set up to make 6 cookies. Everything was pre measured and it wasn't too messy. We were able to bake 6 cookies and use whatever toppings - she got to choose between chocolate chips, m&ms, white chocolate chips and these dried fruits. They read a book to the kids and then made milk shakes as a group. Each kid got a small cup and to place chocolate chips/m&Ms in. The cookies were really delicious and my child loved the milk shake. One thing is that you can't stop other kiddos from touching your items/food. Would return.

Great experience for people watching/interacting, and cooking without having to prep or clean!…read more Booked a shared table for 2 (4 people at a table) for an adult cooking class on a Saturday night. Pros: The shared table experience was great for meeting new people and having extra sets of brains for multitasking. Cons: Seating is random and the experience is shared; ie: one burner for 4, and the end products are shared. Our dish ended up being over-salted, and our experience was halved in interactive-ness due to the luck of the draw of seating. Never have I had a spoon or spatula taken away from my hands so fast before. And most certainly never have I had someone critique the knives and actively give the duller knife to us. This shared table experience was essentially a fight for all (for us). BUT this is just dependent on the attendees and who you're seated with. The other shared tables didn't seem to have such issues. For a more interactive learning experience, I recommend the private table to avoid the risk of randomization. On the bright side, we got to see how other couples interact, whether it was actively taking items from their partner's hands because they were doing the task wrong (ie: mixing eggs wrong??) or the couple next to us taking cute photos of each other and sharing drinks while enjoying their time together. The structure of the class was decent, organized, and well-paced. All ingredients were measured and prepared. Baking, cleaning, and chilling items were taken care of by staff. Prepping the dish (ie: battering items, mixing ingredients) and active cooking were the only things needed to be done. The instructor would explain the ingredients provided and the instructions during the instruction period for the dish at hand. Following the instructions, prep/cooking occurs while the instructor supervises and provides aid or guidance as needed. All in all, I had a great experience. The staff was nice, especially the instructor, and I felt taken care of during my cooking class experience. Would return for pasta night-- most definitely for the private table experience.

I started my daughter at little apples at the age of 3 during the pandemic and my son at the age of 2. At the time little apples took all the precautionary measures to keep the students and their family safe. Miss Sharon has always been extremely responsive to questions and my concerns. I appreciated that I could email or call and ask for a short meeting to discuss any concerns I might have had. For example I was concerned about my son's transition to preschool given he was a "biter" but I was reassured by Ms. Sharon with how the staff would handle these types of situations. My daughter has continued with little apples and has been attending their afterschool enrichment program which includes homework help, learning Mandarin, science, STEM, and art.
