The quality of care during treatment is completely different; rushed, inattentive, and honestly frustrating. Every time I've been there, it feels like there's a whole new team. That kind of turnover says a lot, and it definitely affects the consistency of care. The doctor herself is very avoidant. It's hard to get direct answers or feel like your concerns are being taken seriously. On top of that, not even wearing loupes during procedures feels unprofessional and careless & especially in a setting where precision matters. On top of everything, the office itself is noticeably dirty. It doesn't feel clean or well-maintained, which is the last thing you want in a medical or dental setting. Much better than typing into your phone. What wasnt super cool was the feeling that my insurance was a free ticket to rack up all the possible covered charges from GO. I had a full set of xrays in an online storage folder from December I didnt need more in March... without asking they had planned a whole slew of diagnostics... when I just asked for/wanted a exam, pocket check, and perio (cleaning)... I also had bitewings from a Perio Consult in January. The last straw was being told that the staff spend 2-3 hours checking my insurance coverage to make sure all these things were covered... when I asked why they were so sure it was available... note their papers have you explicitly sign-off that services may not be covered by insurance so thats kinda the opposite. Just overall money grab vibes. Eeeek. Not feeling this would be a place with quality care. I went to the legit place that did the perio consult in Jan for the cleaning and wow... they're good

It had been a long time since my last cleaning and checkup, but from start to finish, the experience was great. I was warmly welcomed by Galilea and the ladies at the front desk, both when I arrived and as I was leaving. Big thanks to Tiffany and Smita for handling my overdue cleaning--they were incredibly professional and made the whole process bearable. Dental cleanings are never exactly fun, especially with my teeth sensitivity, but I never once felt uncomfortable in the chair. After the cleaning, I met with Dr. Dabah, who was attentive, easy to talk to, and took the time to go over my X-rays and address my concerns. He was both professional and personable, which made a big difference. Thank you to the entire Smile Standard team! I'll definitely be back in six months for my regular cleaning. And a gift box with a Starbucks card and goodies for my teeth as a welcome gift? I'm sold! Haha

Months later.. my crown fell off so I was desperate & contacted a few dentist nearby including them because I needed it fixed immediately! They are only a 7 minute drive from where I live which is why I wanted to go to them from the start.. It was a weekend, so they got back to me on the next business day, and I was lucky to get such a quick appointment or was it scary that they had an immediate opening .. Long story short, The Dentist was so polite & gentle. Always asked if I was doing ok & he paid great attention to detail. He fixed my crown & two fillings I been wanting to get fixed for years, but it was cosmetic so my insurance never covered it. I was in luck, I had just met my deductible so it was super cheap to fix all my teeth! A crown & two fillings I believe were around $250! I paid $1,000 for my crown last time! Overall, highly recommend this Dentist. There's two there, I'm pretty sure it was Dr. Patel, he looked pretty young. I thought he was new because he was too young & too nice lol Newer equipment as well, no pain. Will be back in 2 months for a cleaning! *** UPDATE *** My crown fell out once I flossed! (I've had 2 crowns, never happened to me before) Went back to get it put back in, they had to numb me again & shave the tooth down to fit better. It felt fine but I noticed they didn't fix the gap in between my teeth where food got stuck which was my main concern. They want me to go back again for a checkup, but I really don't want to get numbed up for the 3rd time! Unfortunately, over the past few years, things have changed. Since his kids began taking over, I've felt less heard as a patient and increasingly uncomfortable with treatment recommendations. I've also noticed a significant increase in fillings and what feels like a push toward more aggressive procedures. For three years, I raised concerns about tooth pain and was repeatedly brushed off. When it was finally addressed, I was told it was a "small cavity" that could be filled quickly. That was not the case. It turned out to be much more extensive, and now a large portion of my tooth is gone. I've also had at least three fillings done by Dr. Colleen, and two of them needed to be redone by Dr. Matt. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend asking questions and considering having fillings or more complex work done by another provider. Another concern is their payment policy. Payment is required at the time of service based on an estimate, which may not reflect the final insurance adjustment. This puts patients in a position of potentially overpaying upfront, and it's unclear how discrepancies are handled. You can also see changes in the practice overall, especially with the turnover in hygienists. It feels like every appointment involves a cancellation or reschedule due to someone leaving unexpectedly, which has made the experience feel inconsistent and disorganized. It's honestly sad to see, because this used to feel like a truly special, community-focused practice. Dr. McShane built something great, and it feels like it's slowly slipping. I do appreciate Dr. Matt for stepping in and correcting issues when needed. However, I will be leaving the practice once Dr. McShane retires.
