Sadly, Scharrington Dental has changed over the 10 years where I've been an on (mostly) /off patient of Dr. Han... starting out in Hoffman Estates... these "off" periods being triggered by his habit of ditching being IN dental insurance networks. I like dental insurance. :-\ Most recently, the practice seems to have deteriorated over these years, along with the jovial demeanor of Dr. Han... and all but one of the OG front desk staff has survived the Pandemic pause... the others seem to have moved on for their individual reasons. The office is beautiful, clean and up to date. The staff is professional, on time and consistent. I recently had a dental filling (forgot the dentist's name) but he was great. Professional, gentle, precise and efficient. The Novocain or whatever he used to numb the area was done so well and very limited pain or sensitivity post filling. My kids also love this place.This is the best dental office. You can tell there is a lot of background effort by Dr. Han for a place to run this smoothly . Great work to all of you! read more

My 84 y/o father came to this facility as a recommendation by his dentist for cap evaluation. He mentioned that the receptionists were very nice and accommodating, however, dr. Han was not. Right off the bat, this dentist said that they will remove all his teeth (up and down, he only has one false tooth) and they will replace with state of the art implants. While he explained this, never once did he give my dad eye contact. He was looking at his assistant while 'talking' to my dad. My dad felt disrespected and for him to notice and mention this to me, was upsetting. He couldn't wait to leave this place and will not come back! There are better facilities out there that are respectful to Seniors. 'Dr' Han - it's not just your knowledge that is important, your human interaction is a must! Although the office staff was very nice, Dr. Han's bed side manner was horrible. He didn't make eye contact during the whole consultation and talked demeaning. We felt as if we were wasting his time. We found another Prosthodontist in the Schaumburg area that is amazing. I'm happy we consulted with a few before making a decision on who was going to do the work. read more

BEWARE While work was well done, feel "taken" by this dental practice. They did not advise that insurance was out of network. Paid thousands more than we should have, were we in-network. Unethical. When asked, they reply that they only disclose that if asked. At billing time, recognized items not done were still on the bill! Watch out - Treatment coordinator name is Jenielle but anytime you ask for billing, you are told you are talking to that person and her name is Nancy. How many Nancy's work there. Probably none BEWARE. Called to discuss with Dr. No call back. And now I see the other post (Mina in March 2021) that Nancy no longer works there (au revoir Nancy)? What the heck? I have been a patient of Dr. Han for over 10 years and am finally taking the time to provide a review of him and his practice. I feel myself to be a rather reliable source given that I have had a lot of dental work done by other dentists over the years and have been a "regular" in Dr. Han's practice for quite a while now. Dr. Han and his staff have done "routine maintenance" on me, as well as crowns, and I have been more than satisfied with all the work done. Dr. Han's office, both his former one and his newer one, is meticulously clean and well-appointed. In fact, the first time I stepped into it, I immediately understood that it was "state of the art." Though I don't always believe that "first impressions are everything," in this case, they are spot on. The office spaces are well-designed and thought out. But of course, this is the more "superficial" level of business. As I got to know Dr. Han during my two visits per year, I immediately noted that he is a doctor who demands the best of himself and is painstaking in his work, and his hygienists are the same. In all these years, I've had 3 different ones on his team clean my teeth, and each one has been excellent. Clearly, what he demands of himself, he demands of his employees, as they too mirror his work. On a more personal level, Dr. Han and his staff are gentle, caring professionals with excellent "bedside manners." They communicate the information necessary and do it well, and as a result, one feels at ease in their care. I can only summarize my feelings by saying that I have always (like most people) hated and dreaded going to any dentist the majority of my life...until Dr. Han. I came in for a crown for a tooth that has had a root canal and the filling a different dentist put has cracked. I am very pleased that Dr Han was able to repair my tooth and put a beautiful crown that matched the color of my teeth and looked so real you wouldnt be able to tell which tooth it was! I had posted a negative review a few months ago about an unpleasent experience with the billing portion of this company. Within a few days a third party that works with Sharrington contacted me, I had explained what had happen and the company along with Scharrington found that there was a glitch within their computerized billing program. Went on Saturday for my first visit, the staff couldn't have been nicer. I was treated professionally by everyone, they even welcomed me as a new patient on their board in the waiting room. The dr. explained everything that needed to be done and broke out the cost for each. She also told me which was more important, I truly felt they cared. Scharrington Dental send me to collection just because they were not paid by my insurance for the x-ray they took. My insurance paid Dental Salon for the false claim that they had submitted. I called Scharrington dental several times and kept them updated and in July i had ask them to resubmit the claim to my insurance. In August when i received another bill from Scharrington dental i called them and asked when was the last time they spoke to my insurance and they said in June. I again ask them to contact my insurance and resubmit the claim. instead of resubmitting the claim to my insurance they send me to collection and jeopardizes my credit! I came to Scharrington dental a few years back when I was looking for a new dentist . I was less than impressed with my experience . The office is just ok , but when i was introduced to the dentist , he was coughing and sick !! Ew ! And to top it off , when they started to take x-rays , they tried putting me in this claustrophobic machine that seemed totally outdated. At that point I was totally checked out and told them to forget about my cleaning , that I would find somewhere else . Unless things have changed , I would not recommend . My hygienist Chloe was extremely patient with me worked diligently. The doctor was also helpful and courteous and this was an extra step taken towards making me comfortable. Excellent place ! I went there for my annual dental check up and the friendly staff at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. Hygienist Chloe attended me for my check up and thoroughly explained me all the procedures she was performing - xray, cleaning, taking pics, polishing, how to take good care of weak gums, and much more. She was very professional & yet friendly to make you feel very comfortable. She did an amazing job at cleaning my teeth and explaining me how to better take care of my weak gums & teeth. She spent a good amount of time on everything she was doing. Cleanliness was spot-on at this clinic. They are completely insensitive and rude and overpriced. I was referred to them by my own dentist because they specialize reportedly in prosthedontics. My own dentist looked at some work that was done in 2009 elsewhere and was suspicious that I was improperly billed. When I had a bridge break, I consulted DR Han about what was previously put in my mouth and the fact that my referring dentist said I likely was improperly billed, and he seemed to imply I was trying to chase a cause I had no right to, like how dare I question it when the issue was initially broached by the referring dentist. And then when he quoted me $30 K worth of repairs for something I already spent $25K in 2009, he had dollar signs in his eyes and a smirk on his face. I asked if we could spread out the work between 2017 and 2018 so I could maximize my insurance benefit, and he said " I don't play around with insurance". What makes him think I"m "playing around with insurance".? I am a human being with certain financial limitations as we all have and looking at a $30k bill, with a tiny dental insurance benefit of $1500 per year, so you're darn right I'm going to try to use my insurance to handle this huge financial hardship. And he had the gall , in the moment I was shocked at his quote, to say I'll need to do the bottom soon as well. This place is all about the money...not helping people, not understanding major dental work is financially, physically, and emotionally taxing. read more
