My reason for the 2 star review is due to an AC issue with my vehicle. I brought it in at the end of June because there was no AC - it was leaking somewhere. I let them know when I recharge it myself it will last for 2 to 3 weeks, then it blows warm air again. They inform me the wrong Freon was put in the system (I put the correct one in, but I am guessing the person before us did not as it was purchased in January of this year). I go ahead and pay the $500 to have it drained, recharged and pressure tested - no leaks or issues found - good to go. Until this past weekend. The AC went out again (less than 3 weeks after it was filled). I take it back in and let them know it's blowing warm air again. They take a look at it and they say it's low on Freon and it would be another $480 to refill it for them to pressure test it and find the issue -- even though we just did that at the end of June. No thanks.

With that comes trips to auto parts stores. I purchased yesterday and I'm STILL thinking about the amazing service I received! I needed to get a battery. My husband attempted a battery purchase at XXX (a store that provided crappy service). I attempted a battery purchase at XXX-mart, but the line was incredibly long and moving super slow. While in line, I called Advance Auto Parts. I talked to Rick on the phone and that's when it all changed. He was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and said he could help. I got out of line and went straight to store #01706 in Pontiac, MI. When I got there, Rick remembered talking to me. He popped the hood and got to work! He explained the warranty, cold cranking amps, and installation. I know plenty about vehicles (remember, I've owned a LOT of used vehicles) and everything Rick told me was on the up and up. While I waited, I watched Rick greet every customer who walked in - even some by name. He was genuinely pleasant and I could tell he enjoyed what he was doing. I don't know if Rick is the manager, but he should be. He carries himself like a natural leader who knows service. I've worked in hospitality management and I know great service. It can't be taught.
