Trust This Review. I am a discerning customer. One of the things that I like the most besides quality is excellent customer service. In the instance of this flower purchase Acme Floral Co. had both. Acme has exceptional reviews already, but I am adding mine for those who have had an experience where something wasn't right with a product and been blown off. In this case, there was a discrepancy between my perception of the bouquet that I was choosing to have delivered, and the one that actually arrived. That is a subtle and subjective criteria, but nonetheless, I felt justified in contacting them. They got back in touch with me Right Away and indicated they would do what it took to make things right. I was impressed with both. They offered to replace the bouquet, which they did after a few clarifying exchanges including pictures. These were the owners communicating with me, by the way! Within days the situation was resolved, the replacement bouquet exceeded my expectations and I was truly touched. They might have never even answered me, they might have answered with excuses or denials. These are proprietors that deserve your trust & admiration. This place is a great option of last minute custom bouquets. They were able to squeeze in my order and finish it within 20 minutes of me ordering it. I requested a $30 bouquet with red. The total came out to $34. This place is a little pricy for their table flowers but there's a lot of premade bouquets that fit any budget. read more

A group of friends from work and I ordered flowers for a colleague who had a loss in her family. I called Acme Floral to have some flowers delivered (which was a 2 minute walk to her house) I figured it wasn't a problem as it was down the street. They mentioned they could have them delivered by 6pm ( I called around 3:30pm) so that was great - probably the only positive thing about my experience. I told them my vision (blush, ivory with greenery) and said my budget was between $80-$100. They said no problem that they could do that and within my budget. My friend received her flowers and they were not even close to what I asked for. They had bright pink tulips with coral and orange. Plus I was charged the max of my budget, $100 for tulips and 3 roses. On their website, the arrangement I ordered was only $85 so I was confused as to why I was charged more. According to the owner Kirk, it was because it was Mother's Day weekend. I addressed my concerns and asked to have my bill adjusted to reflect what I should be paying especially since I didn't receive what I ordered. His response was so unprofessional and disgusting I was astonished. He called me dramatic and told me I was "coming in hot" when all I did was explain to him how I was feeling and why I was upset. This is no way to run a business and treat your customers. The worst part is that I live in Canada and this whole experience after being over charged for the flowers, plus tax, delivery and the exchange rate, it cost me $165 total!! This is the worst experience I have ever had. I have been in customer service/management for 15 years and have never once felt so ripped off in my life. Do not waste your time or money here!!!! Kirk went above and beyond to help me when another florist backed out on me last minute for our SF City Hall elopement back in December. There's 3 locations now! This Gough St one in Hayes Valley is by far my favorite. There are pre-made bouquets but the MOST special part of their business is that you can give them a budget and they'll create something special within that if you want something unique. Last visit I picked up a pretty dried lavender wreath that made the entrance to my home smell SO GOOD! Cannot recommend enough. The owners are hilarious and kind and soooo creative. read more

I've purchased bouquets from ACME for many a Mother's Day since they're so conveniently located on my bike ride home, so working with them for my wedding was a no brainer. I ordered a deluxe bridal bouquet and a grand boutonnière from the a la carte wedding section of their shop. Kirk from ACME Floral Co was a joy to work with for our small City Hall wedding. I sent him a note after submitting my online order with a list of flowers and colors/textures I like along with some photos. I also tried to specify the bouquet shape I wanted and that it should be easy to hold and be able to withstand windy conditions. The delivery was timely and Kirk/ACME executed my vision to perfection! The flowers smelled as good as they looked, and they got SO many compliments that day. He brought us an extra boutonnière because he wasn't certain if one of the flowers he used would hold up throughout the day, but we never ended up needing to use the backup. The flowers held up all day throughout our wedding festivities and for a week or two thereafter. I was also able to propagate some of the succulents from the arrangements, so in a way, the flowers are still living on! The only tip I'd give future bouquet holders is that bouquets are heavy, and you should build up your endurance for that lol. read more

I bought a corsage from here for my first prom. I've never purchased a corsage before and my parents are immigrants, so none of us knew how much it was supposed to cost. When the florist told me over the phone that it would cost $85, I was a little surprised but assumed this was a normal price. It was not. All my friends purchased corsages from other florists that were at MOST, $40. So, naturally, I was expecting an amazing corsage for that price. When I arrived to pick it up, it was a sad-looking, sparse corsage made of browning, wilting flowers. It was also handed to me stuffed in a takeout box. The one my friend paid $30 for is four times nicer than this one. Definitely not worth the exorbitant $85 price, I wouldn't have even paid $20 had I known it would look this low-quality. read more

ACME Floral has become our go-to place for creative and unique arrangements. Our first experience was a couple of years ago for a very sad occasion, my mom's memorial service at the Columbarium. With very little direction, the arrangements that Kirk provided were spectacular (as was my mom, so very apropos!), and looked wonderful in the chapel. I was excited to work with Kirk based on all the good reviews, but we had a pretty disappointing experience. My husband and I attempted to get in touch with Kirk several times before finally getting a response about his availability. He told us he would be able to take on our small wedding, and asked me to come in to chat live about what we wanted. I spent 45 minutes discussing our vision and talking about flower types, and he said "I'll send a proposal." We never got a proposal, nor a response to my several follow up emails. Was a waste of our time during a crazy planning period, and ultimately we had to start from ground zero with a new florist. Pretty unprofessional overall. Funny story. I had the pleasure of using Kirk's services for a Valentine's day floral gift for my then girlfriend. He was superb at his craft then, and I dare say elevated his craft recently. My then girlfriend, now wife, used his services, unbeknownst to me, (I don't know how to comma) to order her wedding bouquet. Just like when I ordered Valentine's flowers, Kirk hand delivered them to us at night. I had the worst customer experience here -- I tried to make my own bouquet as I've done twice before and was met with extreme insolence. I'm not sure what was going on but the sole employee in the shop was like an agitated eagle watching my friend and I look at some flowers. I've purchase my own individual pieces here before so I didn't think it was out of the ordinary. However, he said I couldn't buy them and to which I replied with "but I've done so before" and he said something along the lines of "oh then okay, sure." He also remarked 2-3 times how I should've noticed how busy it was -- except it wasn't busy because there was no one else in the shop other than us. Kirk is the best! I randomly stopped by this cute little flower shop to buy my favorite person (my grandma) flowers. My grandma has always loved flowers and has taught me a huge appreciation for them. When we walked into the store, Kirk was extremely warm and friendly. In one word? Condescending. We popped into the stall on Fell St and were greeted by a young woman who informed us they had a great new selection in. We were in the market for birthday flowers (My girlfriends' mom) and they look like they have an incredible selection available (and to their credit - they do!). But we asked about whether they had certain kinds of flowers (stargazers - the bday girl's favorite) ...and the woman audibly *chuckled* at us, telling us we'd be better off at Safeway with a shake of her head and an eye roll - as if us country bumpkin flower simpletons had insulted her with such an "bourgeois" request. This attitude continued throughout our short stay and she seemed only to take greater and greater joy out of belittling my girlfriend and I. Now, usually I'm sensitive to when someone's having a rough day or seems a bit down. It happens to all of us! But she seemed chipper - almost downright giddy to tell us how little we knew about flowers. All she had to do was tell us they didn't carry that flower, but I guess she had to make us feel unwelcome too! It was condescending and it's a shame because the flowers (especially the lilies) were perfect for what we were looking for. Who knows - maybe we weren't good enough for this flower shop? Maybe that's just how they run things? If that's the case, there's a better, more respectful way to tell us that. We're not upset, just disappointed. It was one of the worst customer experiences I've had in recent memory. And we're broadcasting this as a warning to others who might fall into the same trap. I called to place an order for delivery - my friend's wedding was cancelled because of COVID-19 and I wanted to send her something on the scheduled day. As I live in Michigan, I had researched florists located near her neighborhood. In just a matter of minutes I encountered some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Similar to a previous post, the man I spoke with was curt, impatient, rude, and at one point sighed loudly because of a question I had referencing one of the photos on his website. He said, clearly annoyed, that he'd need to look up the photo and accused me of being very particular, especially at this time. I am not a confrontational person, but after about the 6th instance of experiencing rudeness, I had enough. I told him he was rude, not nice, made me feel bad throughout the conversation, and I was taking my business elsewhere. He cheerily replied, "Have a nice day!" The effects of how I was treated upset me and lasted well after we hung up the phone. I am looking to support small local businesses that are kind and respectful, especially at this time. read more
