We'd been using Not Just Flowers for occasional household bouquets for years, but when we decided to have a lockdown wedding from our house we had ambitious floral plans and weren't sure that they would be able to help. Lisa and Andrei were fantastic, and helped us create a setting that transformed our bedroom into a beautiful bower. We had vague plans for an arch covered in flowers, but over a few emails Lisa helped flesh that out and suggested they pick the bare arch up, and return it fully decorated the day before the wedding. I was concerned about Covid exposure, we didn't want to risk anyone getting sick for decorations, but they worked with us to arrange a safe handover. We gave general instructions on the colors and room layout, but NJF took care of all the details and delivered a gorgeous arch covered in flowers, a bridal bouquet, a boutonniere for the groom, and multiple vases of roses to fill out the room. They were even able to give us guidance about what to avoid, which we were grateful for! We had many, many comments from the online guests about how beautiful the decorations were, and how they created a wonderful atmosphere for our big day. We can't thank Andrei and Lisa enough for their help. So I returned later, picked out all the pieces I wanted, gave the guy there some room for creativity and wahlah, a nice bouquet with flowers and greens that my wife would know at first glance isn't from some supermarket or nearby flower shop. It was a tad bit pricey in my opinion, but what are you going to do, it's SF, it's not a typical bouquet, and it's custom made. I think it was worth it. I am sure I'll be seeing you again soon. In the Mission, there's a grocer or liquor store on every corner, lest you have to walk more than a dozen feet without being able to purchase something you could consume from the protective cover of a brown paper bag. It's great. Not the case in the Castro and I think I figured out why. Every store front that could be used to sell Colt 45 or jicima or pinatas is instead bursting with beautiful flowers that flow right out onto the sidewalk. There are flower shops everywhere and not the FTD outpost kind. That said, I have only enjoyed the view and the lovely fragrance as I walk by. Until yesterday. I had *one of those days* yesterday. It seemed to go on forever and by the end of it I was really irritable. A little piece of news that I shared with the Captain during his drive home. While waiting for him to get home so that we could go to dinner I did not become less irritable. When he finally poked his head in the door I was, well, *not in a good place* so when he came around the corner with an armful of absolutely beautiful flowers I broke down crying. They were perfect.
