I wanted to order Mother's Day flowers for my mom through Urban Flowers and somehow experienced the rare "customer service but make it impossible" package. I called because I wanted to place an order directly over the phone. The guy who answered told me to just use the website. Fair enough. But when I asked, "Well, since I already have you on the phone, can I just order through you?" he said yes... just to call back in a few hours because he was busy. Totally understandable, it's Mother's Day weekend. Florists are basically fighting for their lives that weekend if it wasn't Valentine's Day. So I made sure to call back later, I live in Hawaii now and there's a time difference. I call back, and this time I get, "Ah, yes, I remember, not right now, I'll call you back." I explained I'm calling from out of state and just wanted to make sure I could get an order in before closing. He reassured me he understood. Did he take my number? No. Did he call me back? Also no. Honestly, I'm not even mad about them being busy, I completely get it. I'm just impressed by the confidence of a callback without collecting literally any contact information. Love that you can drop in on the weekend and they have arrangements premade for $55 and $75 in vases. I do wish they had a $45 option too. But you can always buy the arrangements outside and put them in a vase. If you're looking for something particular they will combine your flowers for you and wrap them up in brown paper with a ribbon. Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable about what is in season. read more

This is the best place to find black, blue, and rainbow roses other than the flower market which has inconvenient hours and you have to pay to park. I've passed by here several times when doing stuff in the Castro and was was welcomed by the large arrangements of beautiful flowers arranged on the sidewalk. I love this style of displaying flowers as it's very inviting and reminds me a lot of Paris. Inside is pretty big and they have a good selection of orchids and many other flowers. This is a fantastic flower shop. When you drive by it, it is lightly lit up and there is an assortment of flowers in the front making bouquet selection easy. From there, you walk in and are greeted by a friendly face. Renee made my shopping experience fantastic. He was kind, patient and put together one of a kind pieces that made my birthday celebration special. For the uniqueness and quality of the flowers, I found the prices very fair. Good selection. I used to go weekly. But now maybe every other month or if I'm in the area. I go to Trader Joe's for the same quality flowers for half the price. I used to enjoy the customer service, but this new employee isn't providing the service I'm used to. This new employee (younger kid with glasses and curly hair) always has a really bad attitude. I told him that of the orchids, in the expensive orchid bowls, has yellow leaves and will die soon. He aggressively pulled it out and stuffed a new one in all sassy. Like why are you giving me an attitude? When I'm spending $100's of dollars flowers I want them fresh and I have a RIGHT to be choosy. Also, the random pricing every time I go is really ridiculous. They just type in any random price in the register and the same bouquets are different prices every time. Very inconsistent and I probably wouldn't trust them for an event or property showing. read more

It is a spacious flower show with plenty of room for you to assemble a standard or special arrangement. There was enough street parking to go around. ===My purpose and interest level: I bought a bunch of flowers to spread joy on Mother's Day. It's been a long time since I stepped inside one. My visit was pleasant. I like the look, scent, and meaning behind different flowers. ===My visit: After my visit, my thought is that this room layout should be more common in flower shops! Customers can conveniently migrate from one group of flower to the next and mix and match across 'stations.' The room's design looks like a medium-sized workshop. There are 3-4 large wooden tables spread-out in the store, and you can have an assistant lay flatly numerous flowers for you, and play around with them and organize them to achieve the shape of the bouquet(s) you wanted. They have flower photo books (with pre-stated pricing) if you need to make a quick stop in-out and also the choice to receive an electronic receipt (instead of paper) if you are environmentally conscious. This was from May 2 of 2021 and my boyfriend had ordered flowers from this shop for our anniversary on May 13th. They had a delivery option which he input his information for and he expected the flowers to arrive at my house, since that was where they were supposed to arrive. However on the day of our anniversary, May 13, he received a call that they would not be able to deliver the flowers but we would have to make the two hour drive to and from (not including traffic) to pick up the flowers. This was frustrating as they could have canceled the order earlier, since they had more than a week to properly look at the information. However they disregarded that and called us last minute. The owner was rude and kept insisting on us coming in or paying a fee to get them delivered when they were supposed to arrive at my residence. We never got a refund and owner did not want to give us back any of the money for a mistake they made on a bouquet that was 100$. Very disappointing. read more
