Maine lobsters are $4.99 per pound, jumbo snow crab clusters at $4.99 per pound, a 2 pound bag of extra large raw shrimp $10.00, a 50 count bag of Maine Mahogany clams is $5.00, Lancaster Angus Porterhouse or T-bone is $4.99 per pound. These are just a handful of items they have featured this week and you can wash it all down with a 12 pack of any Coke product for $2.00. Unless you have been sleeping under a rock for many years, everyone knows the Acme Market name. I do my regular, weekly grocery shopping here and I know most of the friendly employees by name, I lie, because a few are grouchy. My favorite guy is the guy who stocks all the shelves during the day and when you ask him where the graham cracker bread crumbs have been moved to, he'll say, "Why the graham cracker bread crumb aisle, of course!" He's got a million of them, tee hee. The store has recently been renovated and oh the changes they have made and remade and changed around everything, again and again. I don't want to jinx myself, but I think they are done moving things around and not trying to drive me totally bonkers. This is no Whole Foods, but neither are the prices and it is the best everyday local grocery store that we have for our needs. Another grocery store, across the street, is higher priced and does not carry the large variety that Acme does. They do have ready to go meals, soups and sandwiches and the Deli is really great with their meat and cheese selections, rotisserie chicken or fried pieces, fresh salads and a carousel of gourmet items. The seafood department has a live lobster tank, fresh fish and shellfish, at very affordable prices. This Acme has an in house Pharmacy, which we use frequently, a very large produce section, which gets better and better and they do welcome requests. Fresh herbs galore, potted or loose. A melon bar, a salad and soup bar and a large bakery. I love their meats and poultry, as they choose to use the local Lancaster brand. They use Smithfield for their pork products, which is fine by me and I love a Cook's ham. They also buy and sell the local farmer's produce, whenever it is available. They have a 10 for $10.00 aisle, where you can get many things that you would normally buy and stock up on it, like ketchup, mustard, pasta sauces, tuna fish and it changes weekly. I enjoy the sales and the savings and you can check your nearby Acme Market, on line for the savings they are offering. You can, also do your grocery shopping on line and they will deliver it to your home. Sign up for an Acme card and enjoy more savings, plus I get monthly mail coupons for $10.- $12.00 off an order of $100.- $120.00. One is available to use each week and if you grocery shop like I do, this is quite a savings. I must mention Jan, my flower lady at Acme, who has helped me in a pinch more than once, by creating the perfect arrangements of flowers and balloons. She has an open to the public walk in cooler room, with beautiful flowers and gift ideas. She also tends to the curbside flowers for sale. Oh I see butter is buy one pound for $4.99 and get another pound free. Lobsters, butter, crab legs, butter, there goes my diet! They will steam the lobsters for you, while you shop and with my daughter coming to visit soon and her and my love for lobster rolls, I think I will be turning them into a salad. read more

The customer service center is located in the Philippines and you are not able to talk to a representative in the United State. If Management does not care about the condution of there public restroom- i wonder what the condition of the food prep facilities look like ... i would only buy prepacked food. I love my neighborhood Acme. However, I was considering purchasing the already cooked Thanksgiving meal this year. I decided to purchase the side of "homestyle" stuffing just to try it. It was awful. It was mushy, too much liquid (what was it??), no visible celery or onions. The flavor was terrible. My husband hated it too. So we won't be buying our Thanksgiving dinner at Acme. Too bad, but glad I tried a side before buying the meal. read more

This ACME is local for me...which could be a benefit, but the attitude of the cashier people are nasty. They don't want to open their mouth to certain people when you say hello. They ask for your I.D. in line, when they didn't ask the person before you. You call to ask a out a product and they hang up on you. The prices are also extremely high and their meats are not fresh. I love Giants better. You get treated and respected there on Street Road in Bensalem. read more

Very nice looking store however, price and selection are limited compared to another grocery chain right across the street. Also I usually always have to use self checkout when I am there because there are limited checkout lanes open. Pros: beautiful store, nice area, nice floral selection Cons: expensive and limited selection compared to stores in close proximity. read more

I've been to a ton of ACMEs, but this is the best one I've ever been to. It's clean, things are easy to find, they have great sales, and things are so much more fresh! Grocery wise, they have a much better selection than the nearby Genaurdi's and their prices are lower. It is newly renovated and finished. And the pharmacy is great! I love the store, but not the layout, and lighting, IMO. The savon mark makes Ack-a-me a VERY cheap and awesome store! The Pharmacy is very convenient when you use it on a regular basis and they have all of your info on file. But Genuardi's is more expensive, though. Great!!! read more

Why are supermarkets in the suburbs just so much better than the ones downtown? This place is head-and-shoulders above the Superfresh on Columbus Blvd where we do most of our shopping on the weekends. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in here on my way home from work to grab a few things for dinner that night. The bakery makes excellent breads, the house-made guacamole has a cult following in my office, and this place is always CLEAN and WELL-STOCKED. Having lived in Philly for 8 years, this made me feel like I was on another planet, or in Utah or something. They have a surprisingly good selection of specialty gluten-free items, although they are a good bit pricier than comparable products at Whole Foods. The employees are also top-notch and very helpful. I only wish there were more lanes open for a human being to do the checkout instead of only having self-check out as an option, but this could be a result of usually being there midday on a weekday. read more

Above average Supermarket just east of Bustleton Pike and Street Road in the Feasterville section of Bucks County. I find them to be a little cheaper than the Giant across the street all around. They did away with those annoying member cards that most other supermarkets have so everyone gets the automatic discounts and coupons and this is a big plus for me. I hate having to search for those stupid cards or give my telephone numbers to get any discounts. This Acme is well lit, stocked on everything, decent deli and meats sections. Decent salad bar, hot soups to go are good! Bakery is fine, plenty of bread options. Toiletries and drug items, not the cheapest, but they have what you will need. Nice fresh veggie displays, could use a little more hot food options, and have a little larger Kosher and health food sections as my only quips. Plenty of easy parking. Employees all seem nice and efficient for the most part. When all is said and done ,arguably one of the better Bucks County Supermarkets. read more

Sadly the Feasterville Acme leaves much to be desired. Live lobsters on ice slowly dying. Funny smell in meats. Sloooow employees who grouse a lot. One employee Sue is dreadful and quite a few rude staff. Loads of items with sell by dates usually a day or two away and no fresh stock. Times when no grocery carts are available! Occasionally have some good promos but overall prices are high. After several years I've just changed from Acme and found 2 competitors close in location that are so muçh better. However, want a great Acme? Go to the one at Wynnewood Shopping Center. I used to live in Merion and it is amazing and more than a bit off putting that the chain will provide a stellar store in an affluent area but a less than average in other with more median salaries. Acme...money may talk but to provide upscale grocery stores in some areas of wealth but provide below average outlets in other regions really sets up a dicotomy that is less than savory. My income is the same...only my choice of residence has changed but it is obvious that a less prestigious zip code...though still rather a good one...merits a 2 star market when in my previous zip Acme poured resources into the local store. It would not surprise me in the least if others have noticed the same thing. Glad I have now decided to shop elsewhere. read more
