Absolute perfection! We hired Garvey Painting to take the interior of our home from an all-over taupe (nope) to a few shades of hallelujah blue. The main portion of the house is a robin's egg hue with a darker accent wall that hosts a gorgeous seashore painting that pulls all the colors together. I would NOT use again . Total Lack of detail, I continually pointed out issues... continually, they fixed issues as I pointed out I just didn't want to be the project manager on a job I paid for. Prep work almost non existent even tho the quote states, prep work to be done. Painted a large area with the wrong paint and had to re-do it all. No sign or communications with brent garvey during the project even after I emailed concerns till he texts me at 5am Lack of housekeeping and keeping my home clean, one of the workers tracked in black shoe marks on carpet, new tile flooring. Paint splatter in front of my house on cement, pavers. (They cleaned it up AFTER I pointed it out) Paint on kitchen cabinets, paint on new tile floor in one area. Paid with a check to the workers on site, then they lose the check. I think there's many other reputable better people that have a spine and will contact the client when the client contacts the owner (brent) with concerns and issues. I hired Brent Garvey to paint the interior and exterior of my house in October of 2019 based on the glowing Yelp reviews I had read. Even before his crew started working on our house, communication with him was challenging. I repeatedly had to check in with him about when he and his team would be showing up for different stages of the job and this continued throughout the whole job--having to press him for when he would show up. Also, and this is just an issue I have with his professionalism in his communication, but when texting back and forth, he would use abbreviations for words that were far from what I would expect from a seasoned contractor--"u" for you "ur" for your, " r u" for are you. But it was a few weeks after the paining had finished that we had significant issues with the paint job itself. After about 4 days of straight rain, two patches of big bubbles were noted on the sides of the house. We were in escrow selling our home and this, understandably, caused some major concern on behalf of the buyers. I brought this to Brent's attention, sending him the photos and his response was that he would fix it and it was "not a big deal". Not once, during the two weeks of back and forth communication about this did he ever apologize for this or give some kind of explanation as to why the fresh paint was failing, even when I asked him directly via email about this. We believe that the house was not primed, since we never saw it in a primed state, and that is probably did not sit long enough after they pressure washed to sufficiently dry. Our buyers wanted to get some kind of guarantee from Brent that he would fix any issues in the paint for the next year as this bubbling a month after completion made them very concerned. I texted Brent about this on 12/4, following up with an email about it the same day. I received no response to this request, which prompted both my realtor and the buyer's agent to reach out to him about the warranty. On 12/9 he texted with the buyer's agent and said that he would not give a warranty on "failing" stucco. Our inspection for the outside of the house was clean and we had no idea why he would text this as that caused huge concerns on behalf of the buyers and threatened to derail our sale. I texted and called Brent. He texted me back saying that there had been an auto-correct mistake and that he meant to say "fading" stucco but that he told the buyer's agent that he would give a one year warranty on the paint job. We waited a day and received nothing. I emailed him on 12/10 with exact verbiage that I needed him to use on his warranty, following up with a text. He emailed me back, not having followed the verbiage and did not even notice that his auto-correct had changed his name to Best Garvey. I emailed him again on 12/11, stating again the exact verbiage that I needed him to use. He emailed me back with his warranty which overall sufficed, but he still omitted words from the requested language. In all the headaches that come along with selling your home, this has been far and away one of the most frustrating. read more

The job had a few twists and turns that created not only a paint job but a caulking job to seal gaps in some places over 2 inches! If you want to see their work then drive by cause it speaks for itself. They know what they're doing and I have no hesitation recommending Brent Garvey Painting! I wouldn't have this guy paint my house if it was free. Wait, that's not true. For free, I'd use him again. He could paint my house for free. To paint my dog, he'd have to pay me. But he did paint my house. That's what we're talkin' about here. House paintin'. He did an interior job on a 4 bedroom ranch for us. His bid was the middle one. He seemed nice and straightforward. He got the work done on schedule and it looked pretty much OK. There was just 2 issues. Well actually ten or eleven problems wrapped into a promise and a list. (The promise was broken. I'll get to the list later.) We specifically said not to paint one room , which had what I'll call "specialty painting" in it. His guys painted it anyway. I guess I should have made a sign: "Pintado no!" But I'm a mellow dude, so I let this slide. Hey, I only spent three weekends getting the details in that room right, so no big thang. Now it's beige. Sweet. But I let it go. And when the job was done, Brent asked for a check. I said there was a punch list of 10 items that needed to be dealt with. Simple stuff. Trim not replaced. Over paint on crown molding that need touching up. Splatter on the hardwood that needed cleanup. Exactly ten items. I told Brent that I'd leave a check on the counter if he'd promise to do the items. I said that I just needed him to complete the items and I'd be a shiny, happy customer. I read him the list and he agreed. (Well, he agreed to finish the work, not sure if he ever thought I could be shiny.) He took the check. He didn't complete the items on the list. But he was kind enough to crumple the list and toss it in my flower garden. That's where I found it. Nice. Make a mess. And then make another one, a little one, but still a mess. Think that is bad business, after they had started the job, he called to let us know that he did not charge us enough in the quote and told us that our job was too small and challenging (1 bedroom and a hallway? How can that be challenging) and demanded more money. To say the least we paid him to just be done with it, but I would never recommend his services to even my worse enemy. read more

Brent met with us prior to the job starting to go over all of our color choices and details. We were dealing with seven different color/sheen combinations so it was important that everyone was on the same page. We fell for all the ads and when the owner came out to give the estimate he was very pleasant, clean, neat etc. However he was here only briefly when the job was being done; the crew spoke very little English and appeared to be inexperienced. We don't speak Spanish and were unable to communicate with them. When they powerwashed the house they sent dirty water in around all the windows, staining our furniture and carpets and ruining several lampshades. They also shot water under the eaves and through the vents into our garage, damaging things we had stored there. We're still finding paint drips, it's been a couple of years. We spent a fair bit of money and a lot of time doing cleanup from the messes they made. Our complaints were not addressed to our satisfaction. read more
