I texted Tim to see if he does deck staining and he immediately replied that he does. We made arrangements for him to come by and size up the job. After doing so, he emailed me a bid for materials and labor. I let him know that I was happy to have him do the work. Tim is a solo act, so we had to wait our turn. I occasionally texted him just to ensure we were still on his radar. Tim was always responsive and when our job was next he let me know. Tim came exactly when he said he would to power wash the deck. He did a thorough and careful job. Tim returned the next day to do the staining. He did a magnificent job. His technique left our deck looking better than it ever has when we or another painter have done the staining. He also carefully applied the stain, protecting our flagstone walkway and house from splatter. My best advice is to plan ahead and call Tim for your painting and staining needs. You may have to wait to get your job done if he has other jobs already in the pipeline, but he is worth the wait. Worked with Tim about a year and 1/2 ago and forgot to write a review. Only now, when I have some painting work and had to look up his number, did I remember. Reasonably priced, really nice guy, calm and gets the job done above and beyond. I'm a picky designer type, and his work met my standard. He bid for touch up painting on my ex's large house and I think the job got bigger than he expected. Nonetheless, he stuck with his original price, never saying a word about it. Had I been writing the check he would have gotten a bonus. He's definitely at the top of the pack. The only thing he could improve would be to get up to speed on advances in eco-paints- unfortunately, that's the norm for 99% of all painters. But he's happy to use whatever you spec, so it's not a big deal if you've done your own research. Tim Woods is exceptional, high integrity, hard working and does a great job. I'm on a hill in direct sun and Tim worked through a major heat spell we had. He simply planned the job to paint the areas in direct sun early in the day to hit the shaded areas later. In one area, Tim noticed that a crack that he had covered might show through later. Even though he'd already painted that wall, he returned and reapplied filler over the cracked area and applied two more coats. When I asked about this area, Tim admitted the crack probably wouldn't have resurfaced until well after he left but he knew it would. That is just one example of his integrity and work ethics and there are many. Tim and his crew are very considerate, respectful and a pleasure to work with. Tim Woods just painted the exterior of our funky round house in Corralitos, and we're VERY happy with the result. Tim's prices were very reasonable - his quote was the same amount a larger company who planned to just spray on one coat, but Tim's estimate specified two coats. He used a sprayer to apply the paint, but then carefully used a roller to push the paint into the exterior paneling. The prep work was excellent - the house is 25 yrs old and had never been caulked so thoroughly. We changed our mind about one of the colors after part of the house had been painted, and Tim added only a very reasonable 10% to the bill to paint two more coats in a new color. Tim is easy to work with - he works by himself or with one helper, so you know who you'll be dealing with. House looks great. We'll use him again but it might be many years before the house needs painting again! :-) read more

Tim, Nakia, and Tom did such a superb job on the exterior of our house that I brought them back to do the interior. They do high quality work at a reasonable price. I'm pretty particular (some might say anal retentive) and they gladly took care of the few minor issues I pointed out without even an eye roll. Had our house painted by Woods Painting, at the beginning of July. Our three bedroom ranch house in Aptos had not been painted in 20 years so it needed a certain amount of extra prep work and TLC. We also had a small storage shed as an added project as well. Tim was very agreeable to all our added requests and requirements as to little things we added like some unpainted trim and entry way doors. We thought his quote was very fair and it took into account all that we had asked for. We had chosen three different colors for the color scheme of the house, basically one for the stucco, one for some wood skirting and one for the trim that would match the color of new gutters we were also adding to the house. The over all job came out beautifully. Tim and his assistant Nakai worked side by side throughout the whole time they were on the job. About two weeks after they were finished we noticed some extremely faint streaks on the wooden part of the house. They were very hard to see and they were really only visible in direct sunlight and even then you had to look at the house at a certain angle to see them. We called Tim to come back out and take a look because our main concern would have been that over time they would become more visible. After squinting and pointing and looking real hard Tim said he thought he was seeing what we were concerned about. All he said was. "I want you to be happy with the end result. If I give it a third coat, would that satisfy your concerns?" That meant he was going to put a third coat on a substantial portion of the wood skirting around the house. My wife and I thought that was fantastic and really appreciated that Tim would go the extra mile to make us happy.
