** Detailed Review**…read more Hello everyone, I had just got around to be able to write a review for Auto Plus of Chicago. I will write a detailed review of my personal experience with them. I have a 12' Lexus IS250 and I was involved in an accident where my front and rear bumper needed to be replaced. I was looking for many local shops that had fair pricing and good reviews, reviews always go a long way. I found Auto Plus of Chicago with 4+/5 stars. I had spoke to the owner, Sam, about pricing. He gave me a very reasonable price for paint+install. I had ordered the front and rear bumpers on my own, I just needed the shop to paint+prime and install them for me. 04/06/2021- This was the first day that I came in to drop my car off to the shop. At first glance this shop looked very unprofessional, it looked like no one even worked here, not a single worker to be found, except the janitor. I walked around and found one of the workers in the office. I told him what I needed done and that I spoke to Sam. I left the bumpers there for them to paint and they said they would contact me when they are ready to be installed. Sounded good to me. 04/06/2021- I was told the bumpers were done and to leave the car at the shop for installation, which was fine with me, shouldn't take long at all. I was told that their painter broke their back and it would take longer than usual, I understand accidents happen so that was fine. 04/17/2021- I was told the car was ready. I came into the shop to notice the paint color was off and there were smudge marks everywhere. My car is nebula gray, while the front and rear bumper were painted like a light blue shade. I said I'm not taking it and to fix this and let me know when it's ready. 05/06/2021- I was finally told the car was finished this time and I came into the shop, this time the paint was matched fairly accurate and weren't many smudge marks which looked fine to me. The funny thing is they got this paint from Sherwin-Williams, which was right across their shop... I thought I would had a smooth and easy process with this shop, but of course with my luck right when I came in to make a deal with them is when these new workers bought the shop. Previous owners seemed to care much more about customers and provided quality service. Overall, this shop is VERY unprofessional and no one seems to CARE about any customer satisfaction. If you actually want some decent customer service the only person I recommend talking to is SAM, absolutely no one else at that shop has any idea what they are doing and they are very unprofessional. It took EXACTLY 1 month for me to get my car just to get the FRONT and REAR bumper painted and installed. A job like this should take a WEEK at most, realistically a couple days. I had to come in THREE separate times to look at the car just to even see if it was right. The first and second time were absolutely ridiculous and I would feel embarrassed to even offer a customer a vehicle looking like the way mine did. At-least the third time they got it right, there were a few minor fixes, but at that point I just needed my car back. BEWARE IF YOU CONSIDER COMING TO THIS SHOP

Called the owner, was told there had been some emergency but they would try to come later that day in the evening. He also increased his initial quote by $50. That evening, received a text from Lou saying none of the staff were available, asking to reschedule. Confirmed a new appointment for Wednesday evening. Wednesday rolls around, I get completely ghosted - no response to texts/calls, and nobody shows up at the appointment time. Got my installation done elsewhere.

I submitted a request for a quote here on Yelp and they were one of the first places to reply. They offered a low price but being mobile made me suspicious we gave them a call. After talking through the issue we were surprised and excited that they could fix the car right where it was. This saved us from having to pay for a tow truck. Also, it was Black Friday and they were able to come to us on Monday morning. We purchased a new starter through Auto Zone (thanks to their Black Friday deal we got 20% off AND free next day delivery!!) The guys arrived 30 mins early!!!! It was amazing how they just lifted up my Honda Civic which had been sitting in my parking lot since Wednesday. It took a few hours but they were able to install the new starter and charge us what they quoted over the phone. We are very happy and impressed! The next time my "city car" (a 2008 Honda Civic) needs something I am definitely going to call Super Mobile Mechanics first.

The car was in a horrific state after being flooded during the storm…read more The customer service was just excellent. I had my car detailed after flooding from a recent storm. The job was not perfect but they did a good job with cleaning for the pricey detailing they charged me. The water continued flowing in even after the detailing. Pretty much everything was moved around and not put back in place. The steering wheel, the cup holder, the rearview mirrors. Initially when I turned my car on I got an red screen of death, but fortunately, after I adjusted the steering wheel back in position, it cleared off and got back to normal. My driving glasses disappeared, some items were broken in the process of cleaning. They threw away my wet towels that I was using to clean out the water and some other items which I wasn't too pleased with. It could have been put in a plastic bag instead of taking the liberty to throw away. The garage wasn't exactly near me in the 60626 neighborhood which was a hassle to get to and back. Many of the causes were obviously from the water flooding. Either way, it was cleaned enough to at least get me dried out from the flooding. In the long run I've been happy to be in a clean car.

What I got was something different than what I was told. This was an attempt to scam me with unauthorized repairs. During the first call from Mike, he claimed it was a fuel injector harness. During the second call, he asked me to look at the email he sent me. He did not verbalize to me what was inspected and what he needs to do. I am to be asked before any repairs are made. I was called "sweetie" by Mike a number of times, a no-no in a male dominated industry. He gave conflicting stories about the battery not working, even though I drove the car in and had no prior issues, and told me he had to replace the battery. I debated with Mike about that because that was not true. He did not discuss the fuel injector harness, after that. The invoice stated that the battery was changed, the car was test-driven, and the issue was resolved, seemingly, along with other repairs that he claimed verbally and on the invoice were completed. He claimed he changed a bulb for the left lower beam that I had not asked him to check or replace. Mike said he thought I was a "nice lady" and decreased my bill. He said they put on the invoice that the repairs are made even though they haven't done the work. I confronted him over the phone demanding that he NOT do any more repairs on my car after figuring out what was going on. His stories conflicted again when he said he did not do any work on the car and denied what he told me from our second conversation. He asked me to pick up my car and said he did not want my money, after I told him that I would only be charged for the diagnostic fee, everything else he did was on him. Mike thought I was an easy target. He told me the car would be finished the following Monday because he attempted to get me to agree for him to do the work by showing me the invoice that says the work was completed, without telling me what he inspected and what he needed to do. He did not verbalize what the diagnostic results were or tell me about my back brakes. The invoice was his so-called legal stance to say I gave permission. The diagnostics and what needs to be done should have been on the invoice, not that the repairs were made so he could actually do them later, which is why he decreased the bill for the repairs. I have both copies. Had I not said anything, he would have made the repairs, but the EPC light was not discussed. After leaving the shop, the EPC light returned, so he was only going to make repairs for other things I did not consent to and charge me without repairing the fuel injector harness he claimed was the issue. The codes were cleared, and I found that out by taking my vehicle to a reputable auto repair shop the same day who did not charge for a diagnostic fee and disclosed that the codes were cleared. I have to continue to drive the car until the EPC light returns for them to clearly diagnose the problem. I left a voicemail at the shop and emailed the manager, Shadi Qawaati and did not receive a call back or a response to my email. I cannot make this up and I do not have to lie. This was a scam because I am of the opposite sex. Thank you Gateway for allowing me to see the hidden craftiness of shady men who operate in this industry against innocent people, especially women. I researched the issues with my vehicle and that is why I was able to spot this as a scam. Women beware.

The first place I called (less than a mile away) would charge $150 to put our spare on. Via the reviews we call Castro Auto who said they could help us. Not only did they help us well past 5:00 on a Friday - they charged a reason price, checked the rest of our tires and filled up the spare (it was flat too!).
