I love Acoustic Cafe ever since I was in High School this was my go to stop downtown the service is always good the food is yum and they have a good variety of ice cream and baked goods there coffee is so yum. I have literally been getting the Same Hoagie every time I go and that is the 1/2 Combo Hoagie with a cup of soup which I typically get here cheese when its avail. For a great price of $8.68. I highly reccomend if u get the hoagie and soup get the 1/2 or 1/3 cause they are huge sandwiches. read more

After driving around trying to find the "perfect" place to eat, I found myself here. I had a turkey hoagie with chili and MAN was it the BOMB. Staff was so friendly and the food was on point. I had the worst experience here. First off, all the side streets in downtown EC are closed leaving nowhere to park. Second, I went here as they are close to work and I needed to take a quick lunch break. I go in and they are pretty well dead. I order and sit there waiting. It took 20 minutes for my order!! With nobody in front of me! I sat and watched the workers sit and joke around and take their sweet time. It was ridiculous. I watch the girl wrap my sandwich for a full minute! Seriously?! Note to workers, dont act like you have nothing to hurry for when it is the noon hour. Other people are on time constraints and simply dont have time to watch you make oragami while wrapping a sandwich!! read more

I like the Acoustic Cafe, I do -- but I have a few qualms and usually pick Racy's for my go-to coffee/wifi/lunch spot. What's good -- the chili. The ample seating. The live music on some evenings. The fact that they serve wine and beer. Food comes out quickly. Needs improvement -- sandwiches are pretty uninspired and sloppily put together (as in, they are very hard to eat without getting mayo and shredded lettuce all over your face. Meat is sometimes skimpy compared to condiments and veggies. The bread is boring. Pricing is a little weird, too -- a small slice of quiche, cup of chili and a coffee just ran me $9. Also, 1/2 the time when I order chili, I am asked if I want cheese/onions/sour cream (I always do) but the other 1/2 of the time, they don't ask and then seem put out when I request it/sometimes charge extra for it. This is an easy thing to fix -- just train/remind everyone to ask customers who order chili if they want the extras. I think it's a little silly to charge for a little shredded cheese and diced onions (esp since the chili is already more expensive than the other soups), but whatever. Just don't get annoyed when I ask if you forgot to ask me. Cool? read more

Man. I had an acoustic cafe turkey provolone about 3 years ago, was very pleased. Haven't had it since until today, when I got the same thing. However, today I decided to try it again. The same sandwich was incredibly hard to eat, it fell apart with the first bite into one of the quarters they cut the sandwich into, and each following section went similarly. This could just be me, but I remember it tasting different, like the recipe has since lost a couple ingredients/sauces. And oh man, we gotta talk about how I'm reaching for a napkin with every bite. Mind you they included 2. It was greasier than a pizza. Wettest sandwich I've ever eaten, and it completely soaked through the wrapping paper in the 3 minutes it took to get home. The sandwich itself was decent, a strong 5.5/10, if it wasn't $12 fucking dollars. On their website it clearly still states that a whole hoagie sub is $8.99, but when I asked why the in-house menu posted it at $10.75(11.50 with tax), all the supervisor said was "if you read the fine print it says the menu's pricing is subject to change." Y'all motherfuckers must be going bankrupt if you're gonna raise the price almost two dollars on one of the more popular items. I guess it's not that big of a deal, but the reason I haven't eaten here in 3 years is because I thought the subs were $7. Find out online they're supposedly $9. Fine, prices change. Go in person, actually they're $12. Jeeeeesus. read more

Been coming to Acoustic Cafe for years and have never been disappointed in the food. Great place for lunch or a coffee and sweet treat. One thing I will say is that the service isn't always the best. They seem to have a fairly high turnover of staff and that contributes, I'm sure. The problem really seems to show itself around peak busy times and to me it's like they just can't cope with a lot of orders at once, they system seems to break down. Other than that it's usually pretty quick and the soups and sandwiches are tasty and good quality. read more

We stopped in Eau Claire for lunch on our way between Mnpls and Madison, hoping to find a simple place to eat that had vegetarian options. Figuring there would be such a place near the UW, we drove around quite a while before stumbling across the Acoustic Cafe. It was fantastic! Love this place! Great little place with a good amount of room actually. Good coffee, soups, and the sandwiches hit the spot and I can't leave them alone. I won't even go into details on the sweets. Off could still eat gluten my wallet would be empty and my stomach bulging. The service is always great and usually they go beyond what is needed. I try to grab coffee whenever I'm passing through. Acoustic is no-frills required, good eatin'. There are days when nothing sounds better to me than a turkey hoagie piled high with lettuce and dripping with oily sauce. Sitting in one of their wooden booths brings me back to squeezing four-per-bench for poetry slams or slower afternoons, catching up with a friend over a warm beverage. I'm a seasonalist so I enjoy their ice cream in the summer and their soup in the winter but they offer both year round for anyone less food-temperature traditional. I've loved the Acoustic since it opened, way back just before coffee shops were everywhere. Its a little haven in Eau Claire. I was there over Thanksgiving weekend and delighted that little had changed and what is great about it has not. I highly recommend their hot ham and cheese hoagie...every ingredient is delicious, especially the cheese and the banana peppers (?). Their chili is noteworthy...very flavorful with a lot of spices going on in every bite. Swift and smiley service, spacious yet cozy atmosphere, free wifi, local art, relaxing music, relaxed atmosphere, easy to find street parking....a must go to place when you're in the area. read more

The guy at the gas station we stopped at told us of this place and we were pleasantly surprised. As far as coffee shops go, this isn't my favorite. It's kind of a "standby" in downtown Eau Claire... It's really one of the only places that's open past 4-5 pm (that isn't a bar). The coffee is okay, the food is okay, and the seats are uncomfortable. They are almost all bench type seats that you can't scootch up to table, with hard wood and straight backs. The "acoustics" are terrible for conversation, and the tables in the center are so close together that it's hard to get around. They always have local music, which is a plus, but good luck finding a seat on those nights. read more

Not really sure why the ratings are so high on this place. Food is way over priced and not even that good. Chairs are very uncomfortable. The one nice thing is the environment. Don't recommend coming here, if you are in the area I suggest going to the goat house or Starbucks even. You will leave disappointed if you come here. I agree with the other review, the food is 'ok' nothing special. My last visit was last November as the experience was not good. The sandwiches aren't good and I'm sorry please don't put sprouts on sandwiches, its not 1967 and especially when the sandwich is warm, WARM Sprouts just doesn't work. I also ordered on my last visit the half hoagie and onion soup. Hoagie was not good, I left most of it but the oion soup was great. I also ordered a mocah, AUGH. Awful, I left that. The coffee weak, and it was not a mocha. If you want DARN good coffee go to Starbucks, its the same price. Once again the onion soup was great but that was it. There are better places in the downtown area to eat. This is NOT one of them. read more
