The oil pressure on my 2003 Tahoe suddenly dropped to almost zero over the Thanksgiving weekend. I was desperately trying to find someone to just take a look at it but every shop was too busy to even speak with me. I limped into ACR and the owner (Joel) and his son were both at the front counter. They were busy as well but both took the time to discuss what was probably going on with my car. Joel went as far as taking my Tahoe for a drive and giving me suggestions for how I could get it home to Portland without doing any more damage. Bottom line: I was very stressed out over this unexpected problem and they were both very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my Tahoe (with 368K) probably isn't worth what the repair requires but they were both up front (and correct) about that as well. Just having someone who was willing to take a drive with me and listen to the engine was extremely comforting. When I got home my mechanic of 25 years (who sold me Tahoe years ago) told me that Joel knew what he was talking about with regard to the suggestions he had to get me home. He told me I shouldn't hesitate to use them again if I'm in Florence. I want to thank Joel and his son again for all of their help. read more

Absolutely incredibly wonderful first time experience with them today for our 2012 BMW 328i that had various electronic gremlins. Rusty was amazing - deftly experienced at his young age (son of the owners, I gleaned), stopped what he was doing even though I didn't have an appointment. A shop up in Newport spent over an hour and couldn't figure out the problem but he attacked it and very quickly found the issue (burnt out fuses), registered the new battery correctly, and wasn't going to charge me. I gave him some cash anyway and was on my way. The BEST auto repair experience I've ever had in my 65 years and would never go anywhere else. Personable, caring, adept, and reasonable. Drove four and a half hours to make it to the coast and just as I pulled into our campground for the night the clutch burnt out. That was a Thursday night. On Friday morning we tried calling a few different places in Florence. ACR answered and although they were packed, they made time for us. Dropped the vehicle off for a clutch kit repair and then picked it up and drove it back to Bend. Unfortunately there were some more problems with the clutch after about a month but ACR stood by there work and reimbursed me for my trouble. Stand up place! read more

Over the past six months, I have a few challenges with my 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty truck. And, Joel and his team have resolved everyone. I've never encountered a group of people who straight-forwardly give you the facts, the costs, the effort, and the possible problems that might be uncovered. And, they keep you informed as they diagnose the problem, and possible solutions. Their work is thorough and complete. My truck performs flawlessly; it has 194,000 miles, and runs as if new. Worst experience I ever had, I'd give it less stars if I could. Joel may have been a nice guy but Joel was not who I got, the guy I got wouldn't even acknowledge me, wouldn't look at me let alone talk to me. He was doing a code read on my truck and he kept sighing like I was inconveniencing him, wouldn't tell me what codes he was getting and then just took for a test drive without even telling me while I was standing right there. Worst part was the woman at the desk and all her excuses for this terrible customer service, she kept turning the tables trying to make it look like my fault. Said he doesn't work with people so they keep him in the back but that they pulled him off a job to look at my rig, but when I got there he was filling up a water glass and just wandering around aimlessly so don't tell me he was on another job. Then she tried to blame my lack of experience with other mechanics cause my dad has done my past work, my dad runs a hot rod shop in Portland. Then she goes on to tell me how I can leave if I want but tries to make it sound like every other shop in town will be too busy or that I won't find the same quality anywhere else, and tries to give me some bs about how long they have been in business and blah blah blah! I decided I'd been insulted enough and took my business to Brian's automotive off 101 and his service has been amazing! So go to Brian instead! read more

We were driving from CA to WA and had a problem with our VW Golf. They squeezed us in on a Friday afternoon. They diagnosed and fixed the problem in about 20 min. They are absolutely the kindest most thoughtful people I've met in a long time. I can't recommend them strongly enough! read more

I have taken my cars to ACR for several years. Everybody there is always polite and courteous and the quality of work is what you want in car maintenance or servicing. You will have to look a long time and over long distances to find a shop to compare with ACR. read more
