In the past, my family has had a couple of unpleasant experiences with one rude employee there so, we had stopped going there for a while. We only return periodically to pick up their food. Their food quality lately has been inconsistent. Sometimes it is overcooked or burnt with mediocre salads and dry meat. Wraps were ok a couple of times recently, so we decided to go back to the restaurant to try their service. However, after today, I'm done going there to eat their food. My family walked in July 31st at around 1630. It was on a Saturday, so I had expected a bright cheerful vibe from the place. There were two employees, a tall older lady and a dark haired short lady that we had had issues with before. As usual, they didn't greet us. The tall lady took us to a table. We were dining with our toddler and asked for a table with a bench but she replied that it was not allowed. We assumed it was occupied by reservation, so we asked about a corner bench seat that was near the entrance. She responded to us with an angry look and a "No," then dropped off the menu, and walked away. Only a couple of tables were occupied, and only one customer was waiting for pick up. No reservation cards had been placed on those tables, but we were told that we were not allowed to sit at any of other tables. I don't know if it was coincidence, but all the other customers in that restaurants were eating quietly, as if worried about interrupting the food servers. The entire restaurant's vibe was so gloomy and unwelcoming because of those two ladies. Neither of the employees were were being attentive to the needs of the customers. The short lady came to the table to ask if we were ready for an order, I said I lost appetite, she greeted us very quickly with, "OK, bye." From walking in to the restaurant to the end of exiting, it was like the employees were asking us why we were there and don't ever come back, so I'm compelled to not go back. That was the most unpleasant restaurant experience in my life time. I really hope the owner finds people who can provide proper customer service. read more

Great experience with friendly staff, very calm atmosphere and delicious Greek cuisine, I order the veggie wrap it was packed with all types of delicious veggies and the sauces blended just perfect. Also, their sangria is strong​but super good they even allow you too buy them if you want and take it to go (as long as it's not open of course). Just left this place. I've been here before and love it. Not sure what changed, but today's experience was horrible. Sat down to no silverware. Secondly, ordered the fried feta, waited 30 mins for some raw dough. We waited another 25 minutes just to over hear the waitress tell the cooks to get "started" with our wraps. Hopefully it was a one time bad experience, but due to their reaction when we finally just walked out, this wasn't the first time this has happened. I just found this place unsatisfying all around. The service was mediocre. The food was bland. The bathroom was dirty.

The place was very nicely decorated and the food was fairly good, the reason I am giving them a 3 star rating is the service. We went around 2pm on a Saturday, and there were only 3 other tables occupied...despite this, our waitress took 15 minutes to bring us our water, due to standing by the drink machine texting. She took our order, brought out our side salads and then took another 13 minutes to bring us silverware because a group of her friends came in and she spent the whole time talking to them. As much as I want to give this restaurant 4-5 stars I can't. I had a horrible experience with the owner. He is a nasty man. The food was good but not worth going someplace and being humiliated. We had a new waiter so not his fault at all but I asked him how much a side of feta would be. I love feta on my chicken wraps and theirs doesn't include it. He said let me check since he didn't know. He came back and told me it's $1. I said I'd like to add a side of it please. When my meal came it came with gyro meet instead of chicken so he sent it back for a remake. Than when it finally came out it didn't have my feta so he went and got it for me to add myself. The menu said the chicken wrap is $10.99 but I was charged $12.99. No big deal except for the fact that the menu said otherwise and he argued with me. And the feta rang up as $2 not $1. If you look their menu up on line it also says $10.99. Than after arguing with me and raising his voice telling my husband and I not to come back and go to McDonald's it's cheaper. It was never about the price it was about what it stated it was. Than he appears with a menu that has a price showing $12.99. Than told us his menus are correct. But in the beginning he said it's an error. So he knew it was wrong yet he had one menu hidden for situations like this. All I ask is to be honest and honor your prices. If you go ask to see your bill. They don't show it to you. They just tell you how much your total is. I asked to see it. That's why he got mad. read more

Wife and I had lunch here, only know this greek restaurant in town but we like it. Our favorite is the sangria they serve in a bottle, the brand is called "Cappricco" it's refreshing and only sold here but you can order some at Class Six on post. The dolmathes are served traditionally cold, which I like them hot at other places. Going with 4 stars for the best Greek place in Central Texas. Here you will find great musaka,Hummus, Pita bread, gyros and an excellent whiskey butter pasta. This is the second time we've eaten here. The food was once again Amazing! I was not fond of the lemon soup but hubby liked it. He wasn't fond of the rice but I liked it. Tonight wife and I were looking for something new. We had no idea where we would eat. We figured we were out of luck at 7:00 PM on a Friday night and were resigned to something Ho HUM. We pulled into Acropolis Greek Restaurant and we were puzzled at first glance. It looked like a Greek Buffet, but we were immediately greeted by a smiling young lady who asked about our choice in seating, and she placed us at a nice 4-top. It wasn't two minutes before our waiter, Michael, approached us for our drink order. He explained that the place actually opened as a Greek Buffet, but it was apparent on the first day that the buffet concept would not work and they changed it to a sit down cafe. Not quite fine dining, but about as close as you will get in this area. To be honest, our evening almost took a very sour turn at that very moment as they do not carry either of the two Greek Beers on the menu, and I would be forced to eat a Greek meal with Coors Light as a beverage. Michael steered us toward two wonderful Greek wines and as the Greek food had some wonderful aromas, we agreed that a good wine would go well with our meal. I had a pleasantly dry Oenodea Cabernet Sauvignon with a bouquet that titillated my olfactory nerves quite pleasantly. Wife had a sweet and musky Kourtaki Mavrodaphne Patras possessing a musky bouquet with a strong sweet hint of plums.Both of these were $7.00 a glass. Wife and I love a good lamb dish and they had a lamb shank in a delicious broth with vegetables (carrots, onion, and celery), and two sides for $15.99. Our dinner arrived at our table within 3 (YES! 3) minutes of our order. The shanks were absolute perfection, cooked perfectly with no hint of mutton. Wife is a carrot snob and raved about the carrots! Emeril calls carrots, onion, and celery the trinity, and these were heavenly. Not mushy and overcooked, just perfect. My two sides were Lemon Soup and Roasted Cauliflower. Wife had Greek salad and roasted potatoes. Our meal was also served with.pita bread and a sour cream dill dipping sauce. I am no lover of dill but this was just amazing as it was not overpowered with dill, just accented by it. The lemon soup was a new flavor to me. It reminded me of chicken and rice with a lemony ZING that really awakened my taste buds! The cauliflower was light brown on the edges and still had a crunch. Wife raved over the feta cheese and olives in her Greek salad and was also so impressed with her perfectly roasted potatoes. She even let me try a bite they were so good. Michael brought me a little sample of the hummus and the plate had a regular hummus, fresh, light, and creamy, and a fire roasted pepper hummus that was "Slap your mama" divine! Last but not least, we both had the baklava for dessert. Layer after layer of thin dough with a center layer of dates and honey and sticky goodness, with the entire piece lightly drizzled with honey. It looked like a small serving but it was so rich we had to cry "Uncle". We couldn't hold any more and this little piece of nectar for the Gods was just $2.99. Our entire meal for two with a well deserved 20% tip was $67.00, not cheap, but worth every penny. You can eat there much cheaper if you like. They have a decent kids menu, and Michael assured us that they have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free dishes to please everyone. The good....Our waiter Michael was professional, attentive, and helpful. When my wife dropped a fork another server saw it happen and had a new fork for her in less that 10 seconds. There were no televisions to distract us from our conversation and meal. ( I hate TV;'s in a nice restaurant)The food, as if I wasn't clear, was excellent and could pass for good in any city this side of Athens. The not so good......They had a table on the dining floor where the staff rolled silverware and did paperwork. It detracted from the delightful ambiance they had created. The servers station was open to the floor but they were working with the original buffet layout, and it really was not so bad. The bathrooms needed a little bit of love, a bit more light, an a fresh coat of paint, but they were not icky in any way. The verdict.... Go before it gets so busy you have to wait to eat. They are phenomenal, so unexpected in Harker Heights Texas.. As we drove home we looked at the poor pedestrians standing in line at Cracker Barrel, Cheddars and Panda Express and we looked down our noses a little. We had a secret. We were just a few steps away, yet our meal was miles above anything we had ever had in those other places. We will be back. So much new cuisine to try, we can't wait! read more
