Wow!! I am from Texas and a couple of years ago moved to alaska. I came down for a visit and in the few weeks I was here I must have eaten here at least 5 times! Yep and it was so good every time!!! This is the best Greek place in Harker Heights. I got the Mediterranean wrap and my husband got the chicken gyro. Both were amazing.

Wow! This is the finest meal I have had in the Killeen area! The hummus is probably the best I have ever tasted. I really enjoyed the avoglemono (lemon/chicken soup) and the dolmas (grape leaves stuffed with meat and rice). The other sides we tried were the roasted cauliflower and the couscous salad. I tried the special which was the lamb shanks. The meat was so tender that it literally fell off the bone. My parents ordered the steak souvlaki and the gyro plate which they also really enjoyed. This family owned Greek Restaurant has excellent authentic food and impeccable service. I was looking for a break in the mundane chain restaurants of Killeen Texas and lucked into this place which was almost empty at 7:30 on a Wednesday evening. Amazing smell when you walk in! Super clean dining area. Food was amazing!!! Fresh and healthy. My lamb and beef was tender and full of flavor. Kylie was our waitress and sooo sweet! I ordered the gyro plate to go. When I got home all I had was a pile of meat and 1 pita and about 4 pieces of lettuce. The meat was ok and the pita was hard around the edges. Will not go back. read more

3 stars...service is good... Not great but I don't care about service so much. Had the gyros plate. Lots of meat, not enough tzaziki Or pita bread. Meat was overly greasy but the flavor was perfect. The food was good but it needs more flair. I'd say it's good if you need a Greek fix but I had soooooo much better throughout Europe. I will try it again sometime but I'm not excited. read more

My fiancé and I enjoy eating at Acropolis so much and we always bring family and friends that come to visit us to this wonderful Greek restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and they have wonderful options such as veggie wraps and hummus plates. My family enjoys the gyros because they are cooked wonderfully and contain a lot of meat! My personal favorite is their rice! I definitely recommend visiting Acropolis for a little date night. read more

All I can say is amazing. My family and I had dinner at Acropolis and everyone was extremely satisfied with their meal. Let's not forget the awesome staff who were very friendly and made us feel more like family than some folks that just walkwd in the door. I would recommend Acropolis to anyone who wants more than just the francise style meal because the food here is not you flash frozen and heated up in the microwave, this is down home authentic greek food cooked fresh. Give Acropolis a try you will be glad you did. If your meal comes with a side the roasted cauliflower is the BOMB! We will be back!!! read more

Good food, good prices, and cheesy decor. I would not have my Greek places any other way. Excellent produce. The salad proves you can do Greek both light and healthy. The Dolmathes are on point and having been to Greece, Turkey, and Eastern Mediterranean, I'd say they're on authentic. Layout could accommodate both quite parties of two or three or large parties in the high teens. Try the Baklava. The only thing I'd change is the hours. My husband and I had lunch at the Acropolis Greek Cuisine on Saturday and the meal was superb. We started with Soups. He had the Avgolemono and I had the Lentil and they were both excellent. We then proceeded to both have the Gyro wrap and, honestly, the wrap was delicious and the tzatziki sauce was to die for. The wraps have loads of tomatoes and crisp Romaine lettuce and very nice red onions, thinly sliced. We shared the Spanakopita and it was very good. Later my husband ordered the Kofta (beef patties) with two sides for dinner (take out). The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the music is authentic Greek music. The wait staff are very good and the atmosphere is really delightful. They have vegetarian choices and even have Rack of Lamb on the menu. They also have a kid's menu. It's in a strip mall just south of Business 190, not far from Uptown Liquors and next door to a Jamaican restaurant. They are on the opposite end from the Batteries+Bulbs store in Harker Heights. read more

Super nice waitstaff! The food was fantastic. We took our two 8 year olds. I was worried that the kids would be uneasy about the menu, but they loved the chicken with rice and potatoes. Have to go back for the Nutella Cheesecake. Unfortunately they were out :( The pita bread and dip was so good. I had the lamb shank. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce on it. We didn't have the greatest experience because we walked in five minutes to closing (yelp lied about their hours) and they were in the process of putting everything away and closing shop. The customer service was great though and we definitely want to go back and give it another try. I want a gyro wrap this time! read more

Really excellent authentic Greek food, especially for Killeen (it's actually in Harker Heights). Everything tastes fresh with wonderful flavors and nice presentation. The tzatziki sauce is great. Not heavy like many places. Everything I've tried on the menu was delicious. I recommend the Meze plate appetizer. The egg plant was superb as well. Decor is very nice. In my opinion, the food is great. I've had better, but is was fine dining in NYC. By Killeen standards, I'll definitely return. Service was a little sketchy, not bad, just weird. I think our server was also a stage actor, he was over the top. Never told us about the specials for the evening, but I heard them being explained to other tables. The Gyro wrap is huge, juicy and delicious. We tried the baked feta appetizer and it was a hit but the timing was a little off so it came almost at the same time as our meal. If you like roasted garlic the roasted cauliflower is for you. The kids meals are real food, not nuggets and fries. Our toddler had the chicken and potatoes and enjoyed both. The food tasted ok but my wife got food poisoning from this place, which is why I only gave 2 stars. The service was ok, we got our appetizer and 30 seconds later our meal arrived, which was cold. They didn't refill our water, and we got the baklava for dessert which was stale... Meh. Was not impressed. The wait was too long and the place seemed crowded. You are literally elbow to elbow with strangers once you are seated. Always yummy, I always get the gyros plate with double salad. One thing I would suggest is adding pepperoncini to the salad, then it would be perfect for me. Sometimes I order to go so I can add my own at home. The staff is nice and the restaurant is usually calm.
