The outside of the building is not much to look at but don't let that keep you from trying Bentonville's best and only Greek restaurant. I love the Ultimate Gyro Plater. The lamb is tender and the hummus is the second best I've ever had. The service can be a little slow at times and their hours are a little odd. They are closed monday and tuesday evenings. I usually judge restaurants by only one metric, the quality of the food. On that mark, Acropolis is excellent. The food is fresh, made to order, and tastes delicious. The owners are very friendly and welcoming also and the prices are very reasonable. Caveats: While the Greek food is superb, the American food is rather mediocre. Come here for Greek food and you won't be disappointed. On some days, it is clear that they are understaffed. You may get slow service since it is sometimes one waitress serving the entire dining area and managing the register. Sometimes they have a couple of people working the dining area and it's a bit better. It's an old restaurant building so the decor is dated. read more

After my third time eating here, I decided a 5 star rating was in order. Now, if you're looking for fine dining with a fancy interior, this isn't the spot. But if you're looking for real, authentic, delicious Greek food... this is your place. The owners are sweet and the wait is short. I've seen several people comment that Vivace, but I think the food and prices are way better at Acropolis. I really like this place. It's nothing fancy inside or out but the food is consistent. I love that thy serve breakfast all day and that's usually what I order. It's way better than all the chain breakfast places. Tip - manage your expectations. There are no frills here and this isn't the Greek food from a major city. But for Benton county I think it's darn good. read more

Saturday night, my wife and I decided to try Greek food. At 6:30pm the restaurant had only one other person eating. When we looked at the menu it was shocking because it says Greek food but it had mixed items from all over the world, like Aloo Gobhi which is an Indian dish and Teramesu which is Thai. My wife chose Gyros and I ordered Falafel, which are standard Greek/Arabic dishes. The food was pathetic. Basmati rice was not fully done, Gyros were oily, hummus was not the right consistancy and right out of a can, falafel was stale, tasteless, wrong consistancy and wrong shape. It was a total disaster. Go to this restaurant if you want to eat bad fast food heated out of cans on restaurant prices. read more

The Acropolis is about two minutes from my house. It's my go-to breakfast place on weekends. The strawberry pancakes are delightful! I've not experienced slow service--I'm not in a hurry at breakfast on the weekend anyway--so can't speak to that. Dated? I prefer to say "nostalgic". Give them a try for breakfast. read more

Food is fairly good. Tatziki sauce is basically sour cream. Go with the fries not the house chips. Gyros are good and authentic. Service is super slow so don't expect a quick lunch. read more

Let me start by saying I "know good Greek food." I used to live in Baltimore and they have some of the best Greek restaurants in America. To be fair, my wife and I have tried to eat here at least on three separate occasions. This has to be one of the worst Gyros I've ever eaten (very dry and tasteless). Unfortunately, the only thing worse than the Gyro was the very slow service. Of course how can you expect the wait staff to be any better than the Proprietor? I've never felt more "unwelcome" at a restaurant in my life. Can you say personality transplant?? The only Greek restaurant in town. What this place needs to do is close for about 3 months and give the place a floor to ceiling renovation. If it looked a little less like an old Denny's and a little more like their old location in Fayetteville they would get another star from me. Like it or not, atmosphere matters. We were visiting Bella Vista and my family loves Greek food so we looked up nearby restaurants and chose the Acropolis. When we arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night, the parking lot was empty. After a long discussion, we went ahead and went it. I'm so glad we did. The hostess/waitress was charming and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious! We shared a large spanakopita for appetizer. I had the mousaka and it was wonderful. My whole family really enjoyed the meal. read more

We had driven past this place over and over for several months since we moved here. There were rarely any vehicles and we didn't think it was open. Finally one day it had a small crowd! The next evening we stopped to eat. It isn't fancy, but it's clean, and the owner's are very welcoming. The husband and wife who own/run the place do a fantastic job. She is quite charming and goes out of her way to make sure you are happy with everything you want. If you don't clean your plate (and you can't because the portions are too large!) she quietly worries that something is wrong with the food. It's very similar to having your mother or grandmother sweetly fuss over you! So cute! We have eaten there two times for breakfast and four times in the evening over the last four weeks. It's been busy four out of the six times but never has the food taken long to arrive. The prices are shockingly cheap. This is the best Greek food in the Benton/Washington County area. It comes out freshly made and they have no issue substituting anything you can't have. You will not regret trying this little restaurant. It's a keeper! If you haven't ever had any Greek food I recommend their sampler plate. Split it between you and your dinner companion by adding an additional salad. You will be stuffed, I promise. It's a great way to sample a wide range of their dishes. However, you will have to split the baklava at the end! But it's so sweet that's not too hard to do. Enjoy! read more

30 year resident of New Orleans; large Greek population and awesome food! I now live in small rural OK town and search larger cities for good flavor; it's not here! Not enough lamb, not enough typical Greek dishes. Bentonville residents deserve more. I will not come again. I am not sure how this place is still in business. The service was laughable. No really we laughed. The waitress took my order and then walked off without taking the orders of my two companions. We should have left at that point but we decided to see how the adventure would unfold. The waitress did return and we were able to finish ordering...unfortunately. My expectations weren't that high and yet I was still very disappointed. The gyro I ordered could have been assembled in a supermarket deli. A little humus feta cheese and canned black olives. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your Mediterranean food. read more

Acropolis has been a family favorite for years for my family. The service is slow but the food is delicious. They serve a variety of American, Greek and other Eastern influenced foods. They have many regulars that have dined their for years for the traditional diner-type American breakfast. We go for the Greek food however. For breakfast, try the Mediterranean sunrise (American/Greek twist). The gyros are delicious and the daily soups. We also love the Murg curry. If you're in a hurry I recommend calling your favorite dish an hour ahead of time. This is not a fast food place but we find the wait worth it. They're busiest at breakfast so we find them to be a quiet place to relax at dinner. read more

I was happy when I moved here to find a restaurant that served Gyros. It took a couple of trips to find a time they were open and now I know why. I had the Gyros Platter, which was rather skimpy on the meat, had no onions, a little bit of lettuce and a couple of slices of tomato. Feta cheese is an extra charge and the pita bread is quartered, so you can't make a sandwich out of the platter. The meat was dried out and had a taste as if it had been reheated. I have had much better in food courts for less money. Gave it another try and nothing had changed but the service was friendlier the second time. I guess I'll have to keep driving to Fayetteville. read more
