I just had the best tomato bisque I've had in 15 years. It was with disappointment that I ordered their Tomato Sage Bisque. I'd have loved to try my favorite entree, fried eggplant, but was informed they share fryers with shellfish and I have an allergy. I appreciated the waitress asking about food allergies, but did NOT appreciate her eye roll She suggested a steak, but after the eye roll, I didn't dare tell her I'm being treated for alpha-gal syndrome. Since I didn't have many choices with vegetarian food options, I had two cocktails with my soup. My husband, who did not drink was driving so why not? Upon me ordering my second drink, the waitress had the audacity to ask if I was driving. I am a geriatric woman on vacation. I will have two adult beverages if I so please. Went for brunch with a couple friends on a cool Sunday morning. A bit pricy, but you can order anything off the brunch menu and as much as you want. The portions are smaller, but everything was prepared and presented in a manner that I was not regretting paying a premium. I had the salmon and avocado toast first. It was very flavorful and a great start. Next up was the Sea Bass in lemon with capers. etc. It was light and very good but could have benefited from a touch of Italian seasoning. The Pappardelle Rose was rich, creamy and the star of the morning. Finally, I had a slice of my friend's Giovanni pizza. The sauce was darn near perfect, a good hand tossed crust, Italian sausage and pepperoni. The server was very patient and explained how the brunch worked without looking down her nose. We arrived around 5:15pm-ish and were seated immediately (when we left around 7pm there was a wait). It was a nice place, great for quiet conversation. Came here with a large group for dinner the other day and had such a good experience. Our server was so nice and did such a good job accommodating different allergies some of the girls had. I got the lemon chicken pasta and it was so yummy! I was expecting the chicken cutlet to be breaded a little more traditionally but the very light breading was nice. The sauce was super tasty with the capers and citrus. Everyone loved everything they ordered! Overall I think we all had an awesome experience here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good spot for a larger group! read more

The spicy sausage with the parmesan cheese paired well and that sausage was spicy so bravo. The spaghetti and meatballs also excellent. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and full of flavor without being over powerful bc some use too much fennel. The missing star for the 5th was my old fashion which was ok but really the lava cake...although very delicious and I loved it, the cake was caved in on top and it had the ooey...not the gooey lol. There was no lava chocolate oozing out. Lava cake is very hard to make so props for having it on the menu. I did eat and enjoyed it don't get me wrong. I came here for a birthday dinner and have to say I was extremely disappointed. The service itself wasn't very good and I was quite surprised since its not a very cheap place. The food was definitely the worst of it. We got 2 pastas and both lacked a lot of flavor and did not feel fresh at all. A nice Italian restaurant in the heart of the city. We had a bit of everything--bruschetta, lasagna, chicken parm, chicken fettuccine, and tiramisu. All of it was good, well priced, enjoyed the family-style service so you could share among a big party. The service was frustrating. We called a few days before and were put on "priority seating" for 7:00-which I assumed was a reservation (it's apparently not). Someone called the day of our planned visit and asked if we would sit outside--we declined because of the weather and she said if we wouldn't sit outside we'd have to wait for a table. I said no problem, would you like us to come later for a better timing? She didn't seem to be able to problem solve so I eventually offered to come at 7:30-would that work? She said that would be great. But then when we arrived at 7:30 we were again told we'd have to sit outside because our table wasn't ready. We waited another 30-40 minutes to be seated. I get it--we were a larger party (family of 6) but I would have thought they could have planned for us better. Why not just offer us a seating at 8:00? We would have been happy with that. They did make it up to us with some special services but our waiter was a bit aloof and difficult to track down at times. Our late seating meant they ran out of tea and the wine we had selected. I hope this gives some good feedback for front-of-house staffing/training. Better communication is what I'm suggesting. read more

As an appetizer we had Tavola Crostini: which is served on their delicious bread. Each slice has prosciutto, melted Brie, pesto, and fig compote. If you like prosciutto, Brie, and fig compote this is a must. Pictured. I had the Orecchiette(it's pictured with noodles shaped as shells) it has grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus, and Dulce Gorgonzola cream. It was delicious. I didn't find it sweet or grainy, it was decadent. The service is always very good. There are booths that can fit 8 people. It can be quite loud, but you can still have conversations and privacy without shouting. This place is a favorite. read more

Tavola has great potential. The menu has a lot of options, and the food is always really good. The bread/salsa they serve as an app is one of my favorites around town. It is always a pretty busy place. My friends and I came here on a Friday night. The wait was only 20ish minutes (great for downtown Bentonville on a nice Friday evening). However, the service wasn't very attentive. We received our food and needed silverware- tried asking the bartender and she kinda brushed it off and said she didn't have any. We asked another gentleman that was working and he said he would check, but never came back. Finally our original server came back by to see the food was still untouched after 10-15 minutes waiting for silverware. She was quick to correct it, but the food was already cold and we were all a little annoyed by that time. Seemed like a ton of staff working (3 or 4 people behind the host stand, plenty of servers and food runners throughout the restaurant) but no one really paying attention to the customers as we would've hoped. Huge section of everything on the menu. We had drinks and dishes that were not even listed. 2 family style meals that quantity would feed 3-4 people each. First, I wanna say the service and the accommodations were elite and absolutely amazing. The people there were great. But I must comment on the food. I have travelled to Italy and experienced some of the tastiest foods, but I'm not basing it on that (entirely). I live in Los Angeles and at least they can get it 3/4's right there. But this was a joke and an insult to Italy. The ribeye was probably one of the three worst steaks I've ever had in my life. We ordered it rare, it was chewy, hard to cut and bland. The shrimp was undercooked, and again very bland with absolutely no flavor. The Seabass was also tasteless, but with a little lemon on it, it was doable. And surprising they could not get the pasta right. The pasta was hard, chewy and had a weird fishy taste. With a 200+ bill, I would expect a little more. But then again, expecting this in Northwest Arkansas, it's 50-50 on me as well. Never again! read more

Came here for lunch for a team lunch. We we're seated at a long booth for 8. Server came to ask for appetizers but not for drinks. Some of our party spoke up to ask for a coke. He finally came back to take our order. The bruschetta was delicious with fresh mozzarella. Homemade bread www brought to our table with red sauce, we asked for oil and balsamic vinegar. We so enjoyed Sunday brunch at Tavola Trattoria. What a nice variety in the menu and, because we were there at the 10am opening, the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. Even though there were not many guests, it seemed as if the restaurant wasn't fully staffed. We lucked out and had Sydney S. as our server and she was top class. Sydney was so patient with our group of six and carefully described each item on the menu. Her service was so nicely paced and done with a sincere smile. I ordered the crab ravioli with a side of mushrooms, while my husband had the chicken Parmesan sandwich with minestrone soup. The highlight of our meal was actually the bread--it was fresh and delicious. The ravioli portion was quite small (just six pieces) and was lukewarm rather than hot. The cream sauce was nice, but I was surprised to find that one of the raviolis contained shrimp in addition to crab. As for the mushrooms, we were told they would be sautéed, but they were simply sliced and lightly warmed. My husband's chicken Parmesan sandwich was just okay. The one thing that was awkward both times was the farm board. A bizarre combination of things. I'm sure it's intended to be able to allow people with different tastes to each find something but has been an odd choice both times with someone inevitably putting some of the cranberry type chutney on the garlic bread because it's unclear what is what and how they go together. In town for a week for work and our boss took us out for dinner. Nice tucked in restaurant, almost like in an alley of some sort. Parking is limited. We had to go around twice until we found a spot. For a weekday evening it was pretty busy. But we had reservations. Our server was very patient with a party of 11 and attentive to our needs. She was friendly. I will only rate my meal. I had the Seabass with shrimp over risotto. The Seabass and shrimp were cooked nicely not overcooked. Risotto still a little under,, but still had great flavor. Love the topping of the Mediterranean vegetables on top. I think this was one of the specials for the evening. My colleague and I could not decide on which dessert to have so we decided to order Diane's Cake which had 3 styles of desert (tiramisu, vanilla ice cream and another cake that resembles trestle chess, which was so yummy). The Braised Bone in Veal Osso Bucco at this restaurant is one of the best I've ever had in my travels around the country. I thought the Veal Osso Bucco at the original Carrabba's on Kirby/Houston, Tx was the best, but this one is right up there in flavor, presentation, and very well executed. Slowed cooked and as tender as it should be. To me, the bone marrow in the shank is delicious. I highly recommend it over a bed of mashed potatoes.
