From start to finish, the staff was professional, patient, and helpful. The GM took the time to ensure everything was handled properly and that I felt confident throughout the process. I never felt rushed or pressured, which made a big difference. Terence also played an important role in helping me through the process, and took care of every single detail and gave me the best deal , together with the dealership team, everything came together seamlessly. Jamari was great to work with--knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and the level of service I received. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a positive and supportive car-buying experience. Thank you all for making my dream come true and going above and beyond to help me. I appreciate y'all! God Bless

I drove 30+ minutes to come look at a car after calling ahead to say I was on my way. When I arrived the woman running the office locked the door and said, "I have to run to the bank, someone will be here in 10 minutes." I waited around 30 minutes before calling the number she left posted on the window, which she again answered. "Someone will be there in 10 minutes." I told her I'd already been waiting for 30 minutes (after I called ahead to say I was on my way). Her response: "Sorry, we're a small dealership. You can wait or you can come back later." All of this was after I called and couldn't get any information from this woman over the phone about the car before I drove out. Kinda seemed like she couldn't care less about making my sale, as I had intended to buy with cash on site. Will not be shopping with them again. UPDATE 5/26: So I called about the car again (used mid-00s Range Rover) - the woman on the phone, again, couldn't tell me anything about the car, told me they have no service records, told me they haven't run a CarFax on the vehicle and told me they wouldn't let me take the car to a mechanic of my choosing. When I asked why this was, she said, "well, they might try to sell you another car." So I'm just supposed to take your word, or the word of whatever mechanic you're in cahoots with, and give you thousands of dollars of my money for a vehicle you can tell me virtually nothing about? Right. Bye.

Dealer was helpful with a more trivial repair early on (oxygen sensor failed within a week), so I thought he would perhaps be willing to help. I was also told by the dealer that this vehicle was a one owner trade in. A month later, during a phone call, it was revealed that the truck was purchased at auction. I would not do business with this dealer again. This is the second time I have posted here. The first post was much more detailed, and contained dates, but it was removed.

I originally contacted Hoover Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Summerville after receiving a recall letter…read morefor my vehicle and scheduled an appointment with the service department. I was instructed to drop my vehicle off, which I did, only to receive a call the following day informing me that the part was not even in stock and was on backorder. I then had to arrange transportation back to the dealership to pick my vehicle up. After waiting months without any follow-up call, I finally contacted the dealership myself and was told the part had been in. I again arranged transportation and dropped my vehicle off for service. Once again, I never received a phone call that my vehicle was ready -- my husband had to call for an update. When we arrived to pick the vehicle up, it was completely inoperable and would not even move from the parking spot it was in. My husband went back inside to notify the service department and was met with the response: "What do you want us to do about it?" He replied, "I want you to fix it." We were then told nobody could look at it until the next day and that we would have to leave it overnight AGAIN. The service representative immediately implied the battery likely needed replacement and suggested we may be responsible for paying for repairs. I explained that my vehicle had never had a single issue prior to this appointment, and it is hard to believe the issue was unrelated to the service just performed. To make matters worse, I am currently 6 months pregnant and explained that I needed reliable transportation. When I asked about a rental vehicle, I was initially told "no." Only after mentioning that recalls often cover rentals did the representative suddenly say Enterprise could provide one. I filed reports with both Jeep and Hoover regarding this experience. The service manager called me once, left no voicemail, and never returned my call after I left a voicemail in response. Eventually, I was told the issue was caused by a battery tube that had "come loose from vibration," which honestly seems far more likely to have been overlooked during service. The amount of time, inconvenience, lack of communication, and dismissive customer service throughout this entire process was unacceptable. Multiple unnecessary trips, no follow-up communication, an inoperable vehicle upon pickup, and poor treatment from the service department made this an incredibly frustrating experience. If I was the owner of the this dealership I would highly recommend looking into my service team and would be absolutely mortified by the lack of customer service. This is not how a dealership service department should be run. Enterprise however was fantastic! So I highly recommend using them!

Leas than 2 weeks after we signed and drove home ( 2 hours away) the engine light came on. Took it to a parts store to run the codes and it's a vapor sensor. Reset the code and no problems for another week. Then all of a sudden while my wife was driving the kids to school the transmission went into manual mode while she was doing 50 mph! No warning no lights just into manual mode and it slowed down about 15mph. After that the E brake light came on without being engaged. Then the engine light came back on a day later. Scheduled for service after my wife and I both took off work only to arrive and them tell us they would t provide a rental until it goes through the warranty company and gets approved. We were told we could get one ourselves but pay up front and hope the service is done within 6 days because they won't pay for it after the 6th day. Fast forward 3 hours and I text them to check in and the vehicle hasn't even been looked at and they're not sure if it will before Monday. Then were told we could have stayed in our area and gone to a local shop IF they validate the warranty. 2 days later I text to check in the vehicle after the service guy says he checks in nightly with any updates, and he has the nerve to say "I was just about to text you" and gives me no update. What a scam. So now we are paying a huge bill for a car we can't even drive and they have the nerve to say we have to pay a service fee of $175. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY WIL LIE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OD YOU AT WVER OPPORTUNITY!!! I will never buy a car from them again and I'm telling everyone I know to stay away at all costs.

I have come to the Carnes locations THREE different times to have a slow leak on a warrantied tire…read morechecked. The first time I was told 5 hours, or I could leave it with them. I asked, "Just for a leak check?" She replied, "That's what happens when you're the best." That is cocky and overconfident. It was a Friday (5/22) afternoon. I went down the road to Pit Stop and they found the leak within 10 minutes of my arrival, but it was a nail near the sidewall. With a warrantied tire, I needed Gerald's to do the work otherwise pay full cost for a tire. I called the following Monday and the guy I spoke with was dismissive, saying that it was a rare Friday and they got bombarded. He cut me off several times while I was explaining what happened then told me to come back either Friday or Saturday and it wouldn't be so bad. I went yesterday (5/29) and was told it would be a 4 hour wait yet again. I loudly told them that their "excellent" customer service means nothing if I can't get service at all. Nobody should have to wait so long for a leak check, even if it leads to a tire replacement. That should be a quick thing. I went again this morning, arriving at 8:30 (they open at 8). I was told it would be 1 hour and 40 minutes (roughly). Okay, still not thrilled with that. I have NEVER had to wait like that at Gerald's for such a simple issue. At 10:30, my car was still sitting there untouched. I asked for an update, and was told 15-20 minutes and they would have it in the bay. Frustrated, I rolled my eyes and sighed. The lady, unapologetically and slightly sarcastically, replied "Sorry." 32 minutes later, at 11:02, they finally pulled it back. At 11:11, the tech came to tell me what I had already told them at check-in (that it had a nail, up against the sidewall, etc). They would have to use a similar tire as they didn't have the same one available. Fine, let's get it done. $10.95 is the cost. At 11:32, they finally pulled the car up and dropped the keys at the front desk. I walked up, she completed the total, charged me, provided me an itemized receipt, and that was it. No apologies for the long wait time. No apologies for anything. No offer to make it better. Just "there's a free car wash in the envelope." Like I stated, you can have the best warranties and service around but it all means very little if I can't get in to get service to begin with. I'm not sure if it's just this location, but I refuse to patronize them again. There is plenty of competition available that I can use with much faster service. Sad, really, that this is what Gerald's has become. TLDR: If you can waste most of your day on the simplest of services, or if you are able to drop your vehicle and leave it for the day or longer, then this place is for you. If you need a simple thing done quickly, look elsewhere.
