I drove 30+ minutes to come look at a car after calling ahead to say I was on my way. When I arrived the woman running the office locked the door and said, "I have to run to the bank, someone will be here in 10 minutes." I waited around 30 minutes before calling the number she left posted on the window, which she again answered. "Someone will be there in 10 minutes." I told her I'd already been waiting for 30 minutes (after I called ahead to say I was on my way). Her response: "Sorry, we're a small dealership. You can wait or you can come back later." All of this was after I called and couldn't get any information from this woman over the phone about the car before I drove out. Kinda seemed like she couldn't care less about making my sale, as I had intended to buy with cash on site. Will not be shopping with them again. UPDATE 5/26: So I called about the car again (used mid-00s Range Rover) - the woman on the phone, again, couldn't tell me anything about the car, told me they have no service records, told me they haven't run a CarFax on the vehicle and told me they wouldn't let me take the car to a mechanic of my choosing. When I asked why this was, she said, "well, they might try to sell you another car." So I'm just supposed to take your word, or the word of whatever mechanic you're in cahoots with, and give you thousands of dollars of my money for a vehicle you can tell me virtually nothing about? Right. Bye.

5 Stars! This was our second vehicle purchase from Automaxx…read moreof the Carolinas, and once again they exceeded our expectations! Our salesman, Rylan Kane, was absolutely amazing. He was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to help us find the right vehicle for our needs. We came in determined to buy an Audi Q5, but most of the ones we found elsewhere were older models with high mileage. We also had negative equity in our current vehicle, which made things even more challenging. Johnny D worked hard to get us the best possible value for our 2019 Lincoln MKC trade-in plus cash down payment, making the entire deal much more manageable. Thanks to the team's honesty and guidance, we ended up with a newer and nicer vehicle that was a much better fit for our family. We got a 2024 Audi A4 Quattro Premium Plus S Line 45 TFSI AWD A special thank you to Travonte Bannister, the business manager, who was an excellent listener and made the financing process smooth and stress-free. He explained the warranties clearly and handled all of the paperwork quickly and efficiently. From start to finish, everyone treated us with professionalism, respect, and genuine care. We highly recommend Automaxx of the Carolinas to anyone looking for a great car-buying experience. We'll definitely be back when it's time for our next vehicle! Leas than 2 weeks after we signed and drove home ( 2 hours away) the engine light came on. Took it to a parts store to run the codes and it's a vapor sensor. Reset the code and no problems for another week. Then all of a sudden while my wife was driving the kids to school the transmission went into manual mode while she was doing 50 mph! No warning no lights just into manual mode and it slowed down about 15mph. After that the E brake light came on without being engaged. Then the engine light came back on a day later. Scheduled for service after my wife and I both took off work only to arrive and them tell us they would t provide a rental until it goes through the warranty company and gets approved. We were told we could get one ourselves but pay up front and hope the service is done within 6 days because they won't pay for it after the 6th day. Fast forward 3 hours and I text them to check in and the vehicle hasn't even been looked at and they're not sure if it will before Monday. Then were told we could have stayed in our area and gone to a local shop IF they validate the warranty. 2 days later I text to check in the vehicle after the service guy says he checks in nightly with any updates, and he has the nerve to say "I was just about to text you" and gives me no update. What a scam. So now we are paying a huge bill for a car we can't even drive and they have the nerve to say we have to pay a service fee of $175. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY WIL LIE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OD YOU AT WVER OPPORTUNITY!!! I will never buy a car from them again and I'm telling everyone I know to stay away at all costs.

The purchasing experience at Mcelveen was highly satisfactory; however, the service side is a nightmare. After approximately one month of ownership, the driver information center began scrolling independently, the radio would turn off and go blank, and a persistent shudder occurred whenever the active fuel management system engaged. I returned the vehicle for service. They replaced the driver information center, claiming the issue was resolved. However, within a month or two, the problems recurred. I brought it back, and they suggested the wiring harness might be the cause. They did not inform me if it was replaced, so I remain uncertain. Shortly after, the same issues reappeared, including the black screen on the radio and the shudder during active fuel management. The vehicle was taken in again, with repairs taking from two weeks to a month each time. Last week, I was informed that the repairs were complete and that the vehicle was ready for pickup. Since I was out of town, I had to return later to pick up the truck and return the courtesy vehicle. When I arrived, I was told the truck still wasn't ready, so I'd need to make an additional trip the following week. Before leaving the dealership, I noticed that all four TPMS sensors had failed, despite having been recently replaced, along with the body control module and other components. This marks the third or fourth time I have experienced these recurring issues. Each visit results in additional costs, yet the underlying problems remain unresolved. I considered trading up to a new vehicle, ideally the same model. However, instead of assistance, I was quoted $73,000 for a new truck, and they offered only a partial credit for my current vehicle, which I purchased less than a year ago and now has only 98,000 miles. As a disabled individual on a fixed income, acquiring this vehicle was a significant milestone after years of patience. I trusted GM and Chevrolet products based on prior positive experiences, but this truck has been a source of ongoing expenses and frustration. Despite repeated visits, the issues persist, and the dealership has yet to provide a definitive resolution. Their responses seem unhelpful, and my financial situation is increasingly strained. I am perplexed by the situation. I willingly paid the initial down payment, but I feel the dealership has not upheld its responsibility to stand behind its product. While I understand the truck is used, I expect qualified technicians to address recurring issues effectively. Instead, I have received assurances that problems are fixed, only to have them recur. This suggests either a lack of competence or unawareness of the real underlying issues. Ms. Kim from the service department has been courteous and diligent in communicating, and I appreciate her efforts to assist me throughout this process.
