I wait till I can get help to come with me for the big piece..three days. I get there and they have no sign of the order and they won't go cut me the pieces saying I'd have to come back next week. Also, I meanwhile got an outrageous bid for a small shower door at 4000 when another company said it would be 1500. We called Action Glass to install 8 reflective tint sheets in our sunroom to replace the old tint that was bubbling up. In Santa Fe, getting a human on the phone, or trying to get a call-back from a trade service is like trying to find a unicorn (80% of businesses will not even return your call). I had two separate projects to ask Action Glass to bid on. Jerry was at my place within a few days to scope the projects and the bid was submitted to me the same day. There was an extreme backlog last year from the company that actually cuts the glass. These expectations were set properly so I was aware of the timeline. What really stood out was that one of the pieces was a little off and the installer took ownership and would not install it, reordered the glass, and then finished the job. DISGUSTING BUSINESS! Avoid this company if you can. We took in two window screens that we needed replaced. They had our screens as templates to work from to get the sizing right, we had hoped. We called to see if they were ready on the day they noted they would be, they said they were. My husband went over and was given our original screens! They didn't have the order finished, didn't really care about the delay or that we were inconvenienced and simply told us they would be ready later in the day. I went back to the shop to pick up the screens and each was wrong in size. One was off by a few inches and the other was off by a foot or two! They charged in advance as they took the screen order - our mistake! My husband called to request our money back and offered to take the erroneous screens back. We didn't trust this business enough to go through another round as it was pretty clear that they have no clue what they are doing. James was the man my husband spoke to and he hung up on my husband instead of complying with our request. He also made pathetic excuses about how they must have measured the screens wrong - yep! This place deserves to go out of business based on treating locals like trash. Again, please take your business elsewhere if you can - they don't deserve your money. read more

Bought a glass enclosure for a walk in shower from Action Glass in 2019. Once installed, the door was too tight and when opening it vibrated the stationary glass. I called to tell them and they told me it wasn't a problem and if it were to break it would only shatter, as opposed to breaking in big sharp pieces; but it would be fine since it hadn't broken so far. In 2024 we asked them to come adjust the door. Every time we took a shower water went onto the floor outside the enclosure. A service "expert" came and said he couldn't adjust it as the house had settled. Asked them for something to keep the water from coming out onto floor in front of shower door. They gave me a bypass drip tray for the door (ours was not a bypass door)! It didn't work. Went back numerous times and was always given something else, for example different strips for door to block gap etc. Nothing worked. Also in general very rude to me. The employee also criticized the Owner for giving me a wrong part. Finally I went t to Santa Fe Glass, a competitor of this shop. The Manager there knew exactly what was wrong by my description. He sent out 2 of his experts. They brought a bubble strip that they put under the door as well as a proper strip on the edge of the shower door. They adjusted the door as well. Now we have no water coming out of the shower. These parts weren't even brought up by Action Glass yet it was so simple! I'm so glad I don't have to go into their shop again as they made me feel so uncomfortable and they actually didn't care about fixing the problem. I gave them one star since the option to give them 0 wasn't there! read more

Took it to them to repair two windows on my vehicle but messed up my sliding door badly. They told me that the door will be fine after some time but it never did. Now my door acts like it's going to fall off when I open/close it. Already tried talking to the manager but he refuses to do anything. I called and spoke to a delightful man, Steven, who said the owner James would be in touch within the hour. Promptly within the hour, James called me, and was at my house in 5 minutes! He said he could have the window fixed that day, a Friday no less!! I said great! He left and in about an hour, a service man named Rico called to tell me he was on his way. He came, replaced the window quickly and expertly, and went on his way. The charge was very reasonable, less than I or the police detective anticipated. I am amazed at the quick service I received on a Friday. I figured that it would take weeks just to get an estimate, so same-day service blew my mind! I was sold on Clear View Screens by Jerry Gurule and even recommended them to a friend, who purchased them too. Jerry promised me that my cats could not get through the screens. One did. He did not return my phone calls, but when I reached him, he said he a plexiglass panel would fix the problem. I agreed to try it. Three weeks later and multiple calls, no response no panel and $1200 worth of useless screens. I plan to take them to consolation court, report them to better business bureau. First I returned to have a mirror which had been beveled 3 sides (no one ever asked if this is what I wanted) to bevel the remaining side since the mirror is fully exposed. This was done without questions. While waiting in the lobby another man told me he had been waiting two hours for service! So then I request a quote for 7 pieces of glass as cabinet door inserts, 5 of which are generally 1.5 inches x 6 inches. The other two inserts 8" x 16". The man who was quoting me was stopped and told by either the manager or owner (clearly in charge) not to quote me from the sheet BUT to charge 20$ per door (7). So I am being charged 140$ for 2 SF of glass.. I replied "Thank you, I will in the future always use Santa Fe Glass". Then I drove directly to SF glass where I was billed 47.50, including tax. And I have been a Professional Builder for 30 Years. Rude, incompetent and unprofessional. Later, by my own hand, I broke one of the small inserts SF Glass had cut, and returned several weeks later to have another cut. They cut a replacement within minutes and refused to accept payment. Action Glass would have billed me to measure the piece, store the piece for under an hour, and occupy their lobby without a signed lease. And any ink that I used while writing a check. read more

I called to set up a service call for a three-point lock outside door whose locking knob had jammed in the lock position. The gentleman performing the service rang me to verify some information on his way over. I reiterated that it was a three point locking mechanism, and he immediately asked me if it was alright to just remove it and take it with him because those mechanisms had to just be replaced and would probably cost $900 to $1200. I told him that the door itself cost only about$1500, whereupon he said that the door had to have cost at least $4500. He only then asked who manufactured it, and when I told him it was a Pella door, he immediately said, we don't deal with Pella, call the Albuquerque location and talk to Dan.. Okay, bye. To say I was angry was an understatement. I called Pella immediately, left a message for Dan, and got a call back in a couple of hours. They sent New Mexico Glass the next day. Rafael came up with a quote after checking it, and finished the job the following day. Great work, great people. Whole bill was $614 with tax. And this was REPLACING the mechanism. Just called to get someone to come-out and give me a quote on the installation of retractable screen doors. After bouncing down a phone tree I got to a sales or install person - I don't know who, they don't give names - who refused to come-out to give me a quote. Said I should come in and look at the doors first. Then told me that they don't actually have the doors I want installed, but they have something older models that would give me an idea of what Action Glass would install if I contracted with them. But, no quote and apparently no willingness to actually sell me the product that they claim they carry. So, cross them off my list. They clearly don't need/want my business. read more

Someone broke passenger side glass out of our car. Brought it in to be replaced. Picked it up on Friday end of day-drove away and window immediatley dropped and was unresponsive to controls. Called to leave message and no one called me back. Called again and the Owner was very rude to me on the phone saying ridiculous things to me like I should have called 10 times and he has lots of satisfied customers and that he is not worried about it. Do not recommend. Action glass installed shower glass for me. Their hourly rate starts from when they leave the shop, unfortunately as soon as their guys showed up they realized they forgot their drill--so back they went to the shop on my dime. A little later they realized they didn't have hinges so back they went to the shop on my dime. The caulking needed to cure so 48 hours after the installation I fired up the shower for the first time and it leaked all over the floor. Overpriced and incompetent, stay away. read more

We took a sheet of glass there to be cut and provided a template to make sure it was cut the correct size. The size didn't match the template and one side was crooked and chipped. I find it ironic that the company is named Action Glass since what they seem to specialize in is INACTION. A few days ago, we heard an enormous crash. Our huge bathroom mirror had come unfastened and fallen to the floor. Glass shards scattered over 4 rooms. It was a miracle that no one was severely injured. A couple of years ago we noticed that this same mirror was loose and contacted Inaction Glass. They admitted that the installation was poorly done and came out and reglued it. This time they won't return our phone calls and won't stand behind their product. We are planning to take them to small claims court and I'm going to post this review all over social media. I just hope and pray that these bozos don't kill somebody. read more

I just used Action Glass to install new glass and mirror for my bathroom. It turned out to be a horrible experience: first they kept breaking their own glass (causing week long delays each time), then missing scheduled appointments without calling, then when they scuffed up the mirror they installed so badly that it needs to be replaced they refused to take responsibility for the damage they caused. While their installers were nice, the management could use a lesson in customer service. Do yourself a favor and bring your business somewhere else. If you can't find competitive pricing in Santa Fe, surely someone in Abq will do a better, more professional job. read more
