Breached seal on window replaced with non uv glass which was not the type of glass the window called for. The center dividers were also not done. They trashed my window as well. I actually went out three times while they were doing the work to check on things as it didnt seel things were going well. Four razor blades left in my gravel driveway. I had a broken window so I called Santa Fe glass and mirror to come out to replace. They measured the window, ordered it and then told me it needed to be tinted. Once they had it tinted they came out too install the window. I was then told I needed to go to their office to pay by credit card or there would be an additional charge. I went to pay and then came home, I noticed the new window was already cracked! I called and the young man who I spoke to said that they would replace the window free of charge. He later called to say that he had ordered the window. He did say that they had ordered a little smaller window since their original measurement did not allow for expansion. He then called to say that the window was in and that they would get it tinted and call me to install. He called after the window was tinted and said they would be out Friday at 1:00 PM to install. When they did not show up I called. I spoke to the owner and he said he would check and get back with me. At this time he asked if I wanted to come to the shop and pay for the new window. I explained that I was told that there was no charge since the window did not even last for 2 hours. The owner said that he did not know who I spoke to but it did not make any difference what his employee said, he was not going to pay for the window. He said that he was not going to back up his product or workmanship. I then told him to just keep the window. If I had to pay for a new window I would go to a company that would back up their workmanship and word of their employees. The owner then fraudulently used my credit card number from the prior purchase to pay for the new window. I am working with the credit card company concerning this. If you think you're going to get anything out of these guys, forget it. They will not call you back and will say they've been very busy. They don't have the courtesy to call you back and say they can't do the job. I've waited weeks for them to reply to my calls. I've been in small service business for over forty five years. These folks are SO screwed up and SO backward. I mean, how in the world they are still in business is baffling! Three bozos came and measured about 20 windows to be replaced (VERY PRICEY), but never marked which ones out of a group of 80 windows-- then came back 3 more times with the wrong sized glass as they took the wrong measurements (did I mention 3 different times)? It was weeks on end before they finally showed up with the correct size but this time they'd forgotten all their other supplies-- they'd left them at the shop and had to reschedule with us. Oyvay!! I finally ordered them to simply leave. The employees are bottom of the barrel type characters but the owner is far, far WORSE! I live in Santa Fe, not San Francisco like Yelp states. Do not buy anything from these clowns and liars! They provided the same quote several times, but then tried to charge quite a bit more when the items were delivered. Moreover, it was impossible to have an actual conversation with the delivery guys; it was like talking to the Three Stooges: Main delivery guy: "I need your credit card." Me: "You already have my credit card." Him: "That's just for security purposes. I need a credit card now." Me: I ran inside to get my wallet. I came back to my garage and tried to hand him my credit card. Him: "I can't take your credit card. If I have to manually type in your credit card number, I'll have to charge you three percent extra." Me: "So how I can I pay?" Him: You need to go to our store and swipe the card through the credit card machine." Me: "What?" Him: "You have to pay for this today, or we will type in your credit card number manually and charge you three percent extra." Me: "When does the store close today?" Him: "4:30 pm. You need to pay before 4:30 or we'll charge you the three percent extra." Me: "OK." Then they left and I went inside my house and called my spouse to say we needed to pay at the store before 4:30: Spouse: "What? That's almost $300 more than the quote!" We decided to return the items rather than pay them so much extra money. I asked a friend with a pickup truck to help us return the items. These idiots couldn't finish a job to save their lives. I've called numerous times to get an estimate for a project and each time they've screwed up a new part - lost the list of dimensions, put the wrong name on it, lost the entire order of information. They can't make their mind up about whether they *must* have dimensions from me or if they *must* come measure it themselves, not that they'd ever get that far because no one who answers the phone (which is a different person every time) can handle scheduling, they always forward you around the office until finally someone says the guy you need isn't there and they'll call you back. The only time I've ever actually gotten a call back, they didn't leave a message, and when I returned that call they had no idea who I was out what I wanted. It's unfortunate, because the first person I talked to seemed competent, asked the right questions, got all my information, but then...crickets, no further action. My experience with Santa Fe Glass and Mirror was abysmal. After waiting two weeks to have an initial estimate (fine), they strung me along for nearly a month without providing an estimate. During that time they lost my file and had to come out a second time to take the measurement, and failed to call me with an estimate AGAIN, despite my repeated phone calls. When I finally got ahold of the owner, incredibly dissatisfied at having wasted hours of work time trying to get this simple job done, he told me they were "too busy with larger clients" and "could not prioritize me." Terrible, terrible customer service policy. If they were too busy, they should not have taken the job instead of wasting my time, as though my time is not also valuable and limited. I cannot stress enough how disappointing and unprofessional my experience with Santa Fe Glass and Mirror was. read more

When I had my home's shower enclosure rebuilt and retiled, I decided to splurge on a barn-door shower enclosure ($3000+ cost). Santa Fe Glass & Mirror was recommended to me. They came out to measure promptly in April, but the item was on backorder till mid-June. End of June, after many calls to them, I got a call that it was still in production not discontinued but on backorder till August. Fine. In August, I got the call it was here. The install: though the same man who took the measurements and the order (verbally and by email to the company in April) which was 'rolling door on left, wall on right,' still drilled holes for the wall on the left side through my new tile before realizing his error. He didn't say a word about this to me. I had to find the first hole filled with dingy caulk when I saw the door installed for the first time. Oops. I pointed it out and got excuses for the mistake (he was looking at the line drawing from the manufacturer rather than read the actual order details he himself took). No apology, no admitting to the other holes, no effort to contact the office to figure out what could be done for me then and there. The one in charge told me to contact the owner and skedaddled without 'fessing up to having drilled a total of 3 holes filled with smudgy caulk. I later found hole 2 near the overhead bar. And later still, hole 3 inches up from the curb. I tried to call the owner about the holes and the door rolling open a few inches the next day. (I was told he was there but too busy to come to the phone.) They were quick to set an appt. to fix the gapping problem but I didn't hear from the owner until this review appeared and he called in a huff that I hadn't called him before posting it. Oops again. After venting at me, he learned that I had called, and also just how poorly his man handled his mistake and the damage done. (He had been given ass-covering excuses on his end, too.) After calming down, he offered to pay for the cost of repairs. Now, all I have to do is find someone willing to do a tiny job in the busy season when bigger, better-paying jobs beckon. CONCLUSION: They drill first then read the order. ADVICE: I recommend that if you are a woman, or have an unusual, custom order, require the men about to install it to describe exactly what they are going to do and where before they drill a single hole. This may piss them off but will give you a chance to tell them what the order actually is before they screw it up. (Had I done so, rather than let myself be dismissed by a condescending guy with '30 years experience installing enclosures,' I could've prevented the damage myself.) OVERALL: Had I known what I know now, I'd've never gone to this expense to damage my new tilework for a gapping shower door. ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you don't have new construction, or absolutely plumb, flat walls, this custom enclosure cannot fit the actual opening of your enclosure. It can only be off square, and not by much, and you'll pay through the nose for it. One star for responsiveness/install, 3 for enclosure itself, avg. 2 stars. read more

If not, be prepared to be forced to accept, and pay for, a glass product that you would not want in your home at any price and to be lied to by the owner and told it was what was verbally agreed. After three satisfactory purchases at SFGM, I ordered a tempered glass for a table and was given a written estimate for a "41 x 23 1/4, 1/4 oval shaped glass, flat grind" at a price of $245.65. The glass SFGM delivered had an edge that was wavy like a potato chip, not uniform, not symmetrical and not respecting the oval dimensions promised. When I filed a Federal Fair Credit Billing Act dispute through my Visa card, SFGM lied to Visa to say I was told the glass would be handcut and that it would not be symmetrical. As a result, my dispute was denied and I was left with a $245.65 charge for nothing. If you try to buy local, like me, despite being able to purchase online and delivered to your home for a fraction of SFGM's price, I recommend staying away from this business! read more

Santa Fe Glass and Mirror has HORRIBLE service! We dropped off our door to our fireplace with broken glass a week and a half ago. They said it would fixed in three days, but never called. We called a week later, they said it would come in the next day, no call. We called today, and they got the size wrong, even though they had the door itself to measure, so they have to reorder it. I am a furniture maker. I have been using SFGM for all my glass requirements for several years. I have gotten glass panels for doors, mirror glass for mirror frames, and tabletops. Some of the tabletops have been unusual shapes, anything BUT straight and square, and the guys at SFGM have always been interested in my projects, as well as accurate in cutting the glass to my specs, usually with a template that I give them. I first learned of then when we built a home here, and they provided and installed glass shower doors, also very nicely done, and still working perfectly 8 years later. read more
