I would give negative 100 if I could. Very unprofessional. He arrived our scheduled time and had taken down trees that I did not want removed. he then charged me more at the end. The initial call and face to face meeting was good. He seemed to have a clear understanding of the scope of work we wanted. Great, right? Sadly, it all went down hill from there. He was pushy, arrogant and would ONLY schedule the work to benefit HIS schedule and would ONLY do specific work that again only benefited him. Ummm last I checked dude, I was the client paying YOU...NOT the other way around. He continually toted how great of a job he did for us but left a huge pile of debris and would only help us rid of it after several complaints and of course our bill kept rising. When it came down to planting new trees in the areas Doug supposedly did "a phenomenal job" clearing, our landscaping company had to come in and undo the mess he made. The BEST is when he came and tried to put up one of his bright yellow signs, after the tree plantings and all was done correctly, trying to pass it all as his doing without permission from us, we had him come and collect his sign asap. After the work was done, people would ask who did the initial clearing and when we mentioned Action Jackson, everyone's reaction, no joke, would be "oh him....." we heard from several locals in town and our neighbors who either had work done by him or had friends/family who had work done by him and all had nothing nice to say at all. I do not believe any of these supposed 5 star ratings are real customers. Will never work with him again nor recommend him. read more

Doug took down and chipped a 70' Maple tree with a three-man crew in just 3 hrs. at a fair price. He supplied me with a correct certificate of insurance prior to the job, thank you. I have been sued twice by employees of contractors claiming spurious injuries and, believe me, you don't want to go through years of lawsuits. Insist that whoever does your arboreal work, or any work for that matter, has the RIGHT insurance naming the homeowner "as coinsured" (very important) for tree work. read more

I left a message, it took a while to actually hear from him, then days more before he could come to the house. Then he didn't want to trim only the branches I wanted trimmed, he said he needed to take down much more, the whole major limb was "a problem", then he pointed to two yew bushes and said they were problems! He said it wasn't worth his while to do what I was asking, it had to be more, and of course it would cost 50% more. He was brusque, didn't wear a mask, and bragged twice about the expensive equipment he'd be bringing to do the work. He said think about it and left. I thought about it and never called him back. So I can't comment on his actual expertise in tree trimming. It might be great but I never got that far. read more

In my opinion ... All I can say about this pushy, inept (I wouldn't even say) tree trimmer is get other estimates. He is far beyond what a reputable business would charge. He makes everything seem bigger than what it is. He came to the house to give an estimate for tree/branch removal. Simple.....it turned into this big long story of how he has to bring in machinery, five men, blah, blah, blah. Needless to say I hired another business, less time, money, manpower and headache! Very responsive, returns messages quickly and shows up when promised. Took care of a large cleanup project quickly and on-time. Since I was not always in the area, it was reassuring having someone you could count on and is a man of his word. Doug Jackson is. I recommend these guys and would use them again. I've had Action Jackson remove BIG oak trees from my property on two occasions and am 100% satisfied with this service. A total of six trees have been removed and three of these trees were within four feet of my garage...very tricky tree work. Doug and his amazing crew arrived a t7:30 in the morning and worked all day and past sunset to complete the work. I really can't say enough in praise of his work and his work ethic. The pricing is fair and highly competitive, and Doug's investment in heavy duty machinery is impressive. I've owned my own small bicycle business for nearly 40 years so I know something about how hard it is to get it right. Action Jackson does it all and does it all right. From cleaning up the small branches, to raking the driveway, to cutting the wood in perfect and piling it neatly Action Jackson doesn't know how to not do it right. Thanks Guys. read more
