Mr. Martinez is a one-man shop and is very proud of his work. It shows. I picked my car up on the morning of the 21st and it looked like nothing had ever happened! I originally got a paint job here in 2020 by the old owner, Larry. My experience was mediocre but decided to return here as I figured it would be easier since they had already serviced me in the past. The new owner, Suave, was amazing! He was quick and very responsive and showed me some of his other work to really assure me he knew what he was doing, and that his work was much better than the old owners. Called 1 body shop in Oro Valley and they said come by in 2 weeks for an estimate, ha very independent. Went to another shop and guy comes out and a quick $1500 quote and we may get to it in 2 to 3 weeks. Went to see Larry at Custom Paint and Body. Larry was very personable and after a quick chat about the Marines and Army Larry quoted $395 and said I could bring it in tomorrow. They blended the paint and did not have to replace the front bumper part. Picked up auto same evening and they did a beautiful job. They wased my truck, great place. My Ram 1500 was severely damaged in a recent Hit & Run about 3 weeks ago. I took my truck in one Tuesday morning and Larry was extremely enthusiastic about getting my truck fixed 100%. The rear bumper, tailgate and tail light had to be replaced and the left quarter panel had to be un bent and stripped down to the bare metal before applying the original color of the truck. Larry gave himself a timeline and he met it even though there were minor set backs within his shop. He treated me extremely professionally and all his work was reasonably priced. Many shops won't provide quotes over the phone, and one place quoted me $1000 to replace the front bumper cover on my Ford Fiesta, Action paint and body said "we can do it for 745, and have it done in a day." Larry drove me home when I dropped off my car and kept contact with me throughout the day to let me know when it would be done, less than 12hrs later the car was done. When I came by the next day not only was the paint perfectly matched but the whole car was washed and detailed. Highly recommend. Simply outstanding service; kind, fair, super communication and incredibly fast. I haven't needed body work since moving to Tucson 3 years ago, and the places friends recommeded were either way backed up or *super* expensive. My car (2009 Kia Sorento) is old, but she's my baby, so I wanted her to be well taken care of. I knew from the moment Larry answered the phone that I'd found my spot. Not only did he talk straight with me, he told me to come over *that day* for an estimate. Gave great directions, too. Said they'd be in Thursday or Friday and they were; we dropped off Saturday morning and he told us it'd be done by 6 or 7p that night! He called us Saturday evening to let us know he'd finished the job! I was super impressed. We paid half up front and brought the other half at pickup (we ended up picking up Sunday afternoon due to a scheduling conflict). I almost cried when I saw my Kia. She looked Like NEW. I visited this shop last July 2021 for repair of a drivers side mirror & a few minor cosmetic body repairs. Larry, the owne, gave me a quote & I agree. After 4 days I received a call from Larry to pick up my car. The body work was done but the mirror, the primary reason I brought my car to his shop, was still broken. I explained to Larry that the mirror replacement was the priority. Larry told me he had ordered it & would be taken care of. He wouldn't give me my car back until I paid the entire bill. I explained that's not how things are done. I offered to pay by credit card but he said he had no way to make a credit card payment. After much arguing, I paid the entire bill mainly because I needed my car back. It is now March 2022 & my mirror is still unfixed. I have visited the shop 6 times to inquire when my mirror would be fixed & Larry just kept promising but never delivering. So now I will begin a small claims report to get some resolution to this problem. Shame on Larry that I need to go this extreme. read more

I had my passenger side back door panel painted. After the job was done, they gave me the car to take home wet and tacky. When I got it home there were 2 nicks in the paint. Plus, the whole door handle underneath is rough to the touch. (It was not like that when i dropped it off). When I took it back for them to fix, (it was there all day and no one called to say it was done) the painter told me that they will only do so much because he is not paid enough and told me the nicks were my fault because i drove too fast. They did not fix the handle, one nick was touched up and left bumpy. The second nick was not even taken care of. At this point the owner came out to look the car over, and said they would take off the handle and paint it the right way but this is not happening. Folks this was a really bad job. Because I wasn't certain at our first meeting, I took my car to 2 other body shops for quotes (5 Star on S 12th and National Auto Collision on Grant) before deciding to bring my car back, primarily because of the significant cost delta. I put my precious car in Larry's hands and it looked better than new when returned (can't remember if it was in about 2 days). The vibe of the body shop is definitely unique but don't let it get in your way of receiving excellent service.
