Originally went to these guys Dec 2024, they stated my carburetor needed to be changed, less than a year later (about seven months) my carburetor went out again. I took it back to them thinking that they would probably cover it or take something off when I got ready to pick it up. It was supposed to be two weeks and ended up being one month - they charge me $165 to change the carburetor again the carburetor was only about 30 bucks. They charge me over $130 in labor and parts. You would think that they would not charge me as much labor being that it hasn't even been a year since the carburetor was changed last time. Don't waste your time. My mistake, dropping it off to them a second time and I will never go back to them again. I had to insist they give me at least a 30 warranty in which they wrote in. read more

Been to a couple of lawn equipment repair shops and this one seem to be organized and honest with attention to details. As for customer service, they will email and call you to communicate about your transaction. Every repair will come with a well laid out invoice and the parts they changed out. Supposedly an Ego Powerplus service location. I was instructed by Ego to bring my timmer without battery or charger. I have 5 ego tools and multiple batteries which during the service call ego had me test all and confirm the problem was my trimmer. After a 40 min drive Action Sales and Service immediately denied me any sort of help until I came back with my own battery to test. They could have put their own battery on it to confirm with 10 seconds that the unit didn't work. They couldn't have cared less and couldn't be bothered. I ask them nicely to just help me out. Deaf ears. Management and everyone just standing around. We shouldn't treat fellow humans poorly without reason. If I can help people for little or no cost, I do because it's the right thing. I called Ego support on the long drive home and they said the company acted entirely out of policy and this shouldn't have happened. They immediately shipped an entire replacement for my product. Good on Ego! I'm a huge supporter of small businesses in Houston, but Action Sales and Service makes me lose faith in my fellow houstonians. read more

These guys were a bit short on words but provided great service for my EGO tool. I recently updated my mower, trading a Toro for a self-propelled EGO Power two-blader. I love it and my friend who has a weekend business doing lawns loves it as well. My pre-purchase online research made me aware of a potential issue--the EGO is marketed with two different blades: one is notched for better mulching, the other is bent upward at the non-cutting side to provide more "lift" for bagging. There are many online threads and reviews documenting that the factory puts the blades on very tight, but I wouldn't know until I tried whether my mower would be one of the tough ones. It was, I couldn't budge the 3 bolts using my ratchet set. WD-40 didn't help. I wasn't into buying specialized tools, since others had documented fails with breaker bars, torches, and impact tools. Not my thing. I called EGO and they referred me to Action. I was polite with the EGO customer service (I like the mower!) but they would not acknowledge what was obvious, namely that the factory (robot or whatever) does not set the bolts at the recommended torque settings. They did file a service request of my registered tool, and forwarded to Action, the Houston servicer, but said it was likely "non-warranty". Seeing potential for misunderstanding, I called Action afterwards. They knew about the issue and said I could bring it in, and that the bolt issue was not chargeable as it is not considered a warranty item. I brought the mower into the hot shed (its August and no AC). I spoke with the team member who does the EGO service. In about 30 seconds, he had the 3 bolts off with his compressed air powered impact wrench, but it still took a bit of effort, they were really on there! He also tipped me off that reinstall requires a trick not mentioned in the manual, which was very helpful and appreciated. Thumbs down to EGO central admin for not acknowledging the issue. Puts their customers and servicers in an uncomfortable situation. Great mower. read more

So I called the store up gave all the specs on my inverter generator before hand and asked if they could work on it and the lady who answered the phone got with someone and came back and said yes. So loses it up and drove it to the location, unload it, bring it in and in 30 seconds or less the gentleman behind the counter said he wouldn't be able to look at it. It's bad business to have one of your employees say yes then another no. If you don't know say bring it in we will see not what model let me check and yes we do then show up to get a no and call around other places. read more

After talking with the manager, Eric, and picking his brain on the best homeowner equipment to purchase. I ended up going with a Toro mower, Echo trimmer and Echo blower. Dropped off Ego Lawnmower for repair on 8/19. I was told mower would be looked at and I would know something by 8/24. I called back 8/27 after never receiving a call back. On the 8/27 call I was told that there is no way that they could have looked at it in two days and to call back in a week. No apologies for the bad information I was given. A call back a week later and I was told parts were ordered and on the way. Called today 9/15 almost one month after I dropped the mower off. Today I was told parts were still being delivered and I should call back later in the week. When asked what day the parts will be delivered they stated they have no clue, when asked a time frame once again no clue. Avoid this place. read more

I gave up on the two Stihl dealers in my hometown, one would sell to you but didn't care to really demonstrate or visit about what they had. The other local dealer would not even acknowledge me the three times I visited their store. When my Honda mower needed a tune up this spring my nephew suggested I try Action Sales & Service. When I picked up my mower I dropped off my Stihl Kombi System motor and two attachments I was having a problem with. The corrected both, going to the effort of researching if a part I purchased at a going out of sale business could be retrofitted and did it. I purchased an additional attachment that day. I told them then they would be my only Stihl dealer going forward. Well today I got a bug and purchased yet another attachment. They are always friendly, will take time to visit to understand your need or issue. They are an EXCELLENT family owned business. read more

A great locally owned, family run business. Rhonda was super helpful in helping me pick out the perfect Echo weed eater / blower combo. She spent time listening to my requirements, answered all my questions, and explained to me all the benefits if the different levels of Echo weed eaters. The Action team fully assembled and fired up the weed eater before I left the shop. I feel good about my purchase and am confident that Action will be able to take care of any issues that may arise with my weed eater down the road, which is more than I could say about the last weed eater I purchased from a big box store.
