These guys have been around a while so if you have an expensive vacuum they can definitely fix it which is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new one. They also sell new and used vacuums and accessories. My mother in law wanted her $900 Dyson fixed and it cost me $100 to replace a part instead of her buying a whole new one. BEWARE! Not the same company under new ownership. Previous ownership was superb for years, servicing my Kirby vacuum, but no more. Bill broke my vintage Kirby Vacuum Cleaner. Was operable before he had access to machine. Returned it with broken prong on the switch. Took it because I was having a problem with cord staying connected to machine. After he supposedly "fixed it" with new cord & didn't test it before returning machine to me, it would come on and immediately shut off. Also machine is heavy making it difficult for me to load and unload from my SUV. Had always had wonderful service with this company for decades, but no more. Emailed owner John & have not heard back from him. I feel Bill wanted to sell me a new machine. This company is NOTHING like it was in years past when they would do needed repairs and service machine, so-called service there is no more. Larry & John were wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable, kind and generous! I went in to fix my Dyson. Turns out, they are experts about all things-Dyson. John took the time to explain possible reasons for malfunctions, as well as introduce me to other types of vacuums and their qualities. A couple weeks ago I received a coupon in the mail for a service referred to as a "Tune Up" that included a basic check-up off all parts and cleaning which cost $39.50. I dropped my vacuum off and was informed I needed 2 new filters and a new clutch to improve the overall performance of my Dyson. The parts came out to be $123.44 plus the $39.50 for service, my total including tax was $176.38. I didn't complain as I understood this repair would cost less than purchasing a new vacuum altogether, so I paid. My work schedule doesn't work with their business hours so my vacuum sat for about a week until I was able to pick it up the following Saturday. I attempted to use the vacuum 3 days later and noticed the metal probes connecting to the plug were loose, resulting in a shortage. Meaning my vacuum was completely fucked and I could no longer use it. This was not a problem before taking my vacuum to Mars- I should have stayed my ass on earth!!! I took it back the next day and the clerk told me I would be contacted with an estimate. Shortly afterwards, I was contacted by one of the older guys can't remember his name, but he was kinda rude. He claimed my power cord was 10 years old and had burned out and become loose while they were repairing the dyson and these thing happen..... blahh blahh. The new cord would cost $32, however seeing that I just did business with them he'd overlook the service fee. Of course I had to go on with the repair because all of the previous work would be time and money wasted. Isn't it funny how I just went in for a simple $40 "tune-up" and now I needed $200 worth of repairs? Typical grimey repair men. Today I go to pick up my vacuum cleaner and noticed they had one similar to mine on display. I looked at the power cord on this vacuum and instantly realized I had been tricked! Bamboozled!! This display vacuum cord reminded me of my cord, dark grey with ridges, made of thick quality firm rubber. The one they conned me with was smooth all around with codes on it, it was old flimsy and beat up (an obvious replacement ). Definitely not the original cord that would have been on it when it was first purchased from the manufacturer. When confronted about this these men claimed I was wrong , NEVER providing a valid explanation nor apology. Didn't even care to show me my old parts. These men are dishonest penny pinchers and I would NEVER recommend anyone I know, FRIEND OR FOE, to give them business. They should be ashamed of themselves ripping people off like this. I recently purchased a used German Sebo X1 upright vacuum online. This is an excellent brand, but mine had been treated roughly. Parts were missing, "new" parts had been "created." With trepidation I took it into Mars Discount Vacuum. The gentlemen that work there are very knowledgeable and have a great sense of humor. They do work on Sebos, to my surprise. I left my vacuum with them and was totally shocked when they called me back the same day and said they had some essentially new parts they could put on my machine and it would be good as new. What was really amazing they did the work in less than 24 hours. I think they must direct Santa's elves in the off season. In any event at an extremely inexpensive price, I got back my vacuum in better than new condition. These are nice guys who really know their business. So I went to go pick up my vacuum dropped it off before the covid 19 come back to pick it up. First the guy goes looked it up in the computer goes in the back look for it then I walk outside an older gentleman tells me oh well it's in the notes that the owner told me to throw it away. I don't believe that because why didn't he just tell me that from the beginning they were looking at the same screen I think they were just trying to cover their butt. I went to Mars to have my carpet shampooer repaired. Now I got this shampooer from my Mother in law used and had only tried to use it once, but could immediately tell there was something very wrong. I went to Mars. This man was a throwback to a time when tradespeople loved their work and honored their profession! You might get a story or two when you come in, but that's just part of the small town charm and integrity that you will always encounter there. He worked on my cleaner like it was his OWN mother in law's cleaner. It was beyond broken. He got Hoover engineers involved, and spent hours with that piece of junk. If there was a way it could have been fixed, I'm 100% certain he would have. With the last part ordered, he updated me that he would not be charging me for anything beyond the parts and just apologized profusely that it took so long. He had already spent more time and materials than he was going to charge me. As it turned out, my shampooer was beyond help. I figured I would have to pay him for his time at least or the parts ordered and buy a new one. But what did he do? He took the loss on MY shampooer and the parts and offered to sell me one of the brand new shampooers from his store at COST, WHOLESALE! I checked and it was true! Ya'll it was almost the same amount I would have paid for my less than par shampooer to be fixed that was several years old! And he STILL apologized for the time, etc. He also warrantied it for 3 years parts and labor. Long story short, the Royal shampooer I went home with was the best shampooer I have ever used. It was better than the professional that I paid $400 six months ago to shampoo my carpets! He also gave me free cleaning solution, and the upgraded attachments to take care of my upholstery as well. There was an attachment on this cleaner for hard surfaces and this is another example of his integrity. He told me not to use the hard surface attachment yet, that he found it has some glitches and is waiting for Royal to send out the fix for it. I didn't even need the hard surface attachment, but cool right? Maybe one day. And told me once they do, he will call me to bring my cleaner in and he will add the fix to the attachment. Ya'll he taught me how to take apart the cleaner, clean it and made me promise I would, lol. It was like learning from your wise grandpa who knows more about his machines and the value of a dollar that only his 45 years of experience could get him. I sure hope I don't have to come in any time soon, but if I do it will be nice to see him and I know my new pride and joy will be well cared for. read more

I went there to buy a hardwood floor vacuum, which I bought. While I was there, I knew of a vacuum for the stairs I needed. The owner over charged me for one he had which I later found out was defective. It would run for about 30 seconds overheat and stop working. I repeatedly took it to him with him each time telling me the filter was dirty. It would not matter if the filter was clean as it would still stop working. The owner refused to do anything about it. I contacted the manufacturer who told me to take it to an authorized repair shop. I found one who plugged it in and in 10 SECONDS knew it was defective. I recontacted the manufacturer who sent me a new one. I absolutely do not recommend this place unless you want to take your vacuum to a place who will deceive you and sell you defective items. I gave him a chance to make it right many many times with him saying it was not his fault. When I take it to a different vacuum place who tells me it is defective than I know I am not wrong. read more

I purchased a Royal Carpet from Mars Discount Vacuum. The service is reminiscent of the type of service received of years ago throughout the retail industry. Very knowledgeable and sharing of their expertise! It took me some months to decide to purchase the Royal because it was such an expensive investment but this has proven to be the best carpet cleaner that I have ever owned in it's cleaning ability. Without answering all of my questions about cleaners, I would have never heard about this carpet cleaner. After the first use or two, I had a slight problem with the suction. I took the machine in to the store and it was rectified without any additional issue. At this store, they give demonstrations on their vacuums to back up their claims on which machines are the best. This will be my next purchase. I've noticed that they are assured in their knowledge of expertise and I trust their information. They will not push to sell you something that is not worthwhile. On my most recent visit, it was solely to purchase a $3 item which was to clean the hair from the carpet cleaner. There was no upsell and I was even given a piece that worked for a ShopVac that I own, which a machine that they do not carry. I dropped off my vacuum for cleaning and upon picking it up the owner "tested" it on a patch of dirty carpet next to the register so my seemingly clean vacuum came out of the shop dirty and dusty. The tech kindly offered to carry it out to my car for me (is very lightweight, can lift with two fingers which is why I bought it). Before putting it in my car I asked that he dump the canister in the parking lot which he balked at a little...dumping dirt on a filthy parking lot is a bad thing? The vacuum should have been tested then cleaned before I arrived, not after unless they felt the need to prove something. Which if they were trustworthy would they have to prove it? Also the up sale---be prepared for the staff to try and sell you one one of their very expensive floor models (again my vac is about a year old and I have such a small area of carpeting in the house I do not need the Cadillac of vacs). I caught the owner giving they head nod to the assistant to try and sell me. Again I was disgusted by the idea of taking home a dirty vac that I brought in for cleaning. Next time I will throw this one out to the curb and go buy a brand new one. read more

I needed to have my previous Hoover vacum repaired and came across MARS. I gave them a call to inquire a about their service and got mixed feelings about that phone conversation. I talked to Larry, the business owner, and the conversation was very straight forward, but It wasn't that "smooth" (I was asking quite a few questions to be honest). Nonetheless, it was the closest and most convenient shop for me to go so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I came in later that day and was greeted promptly and cortiously. After handing my vacum to Larry, he proceeded to show me some of their floor models and the difference in performance and quality of different brands. Have to admit it was an eye opening experience in vacuum cleaners. Two days later I received a call from him letting me know what was wrong with my vacuum and the repair cost. It was twice of what I had paid for the vacuum 2 1/2 years ago. I decided not to repair it and instead upgrade to a better quality, higher end and "non disposable" vacuum cleaner. Based on what he showed me and some of my own research, I decided on the Maytag M700. I Spend some time online and found a pretty good deal. I came back to the store and mentioned It to him. Not only did he match it on the spot, but he gave me 6 disposable bags as a bonus. He didn't have to, but he did. I left as a very satisfied customer. I bought local (always good for the local economy) got a great price plus free bags, received excellent service and will have someone to come and talk to in the event something goes wrong with my purchase.
